BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Robert De Niro and his wife of more than 20 years have separated.  According to reports, the 75-year-old Oscar winner and 63-year-old Grace Hightower have been living apart for some time.  The Raging Bull actor and Hightower married in 1997 and have two children together. 20-year-old Elliot was born shortly after the two were married.  The couple briefly separated in 1999, and De Niro attempted to sue for custody, but the couple ultimately resolved their differences and went on to have another child, six-year-old Helen, via surrogate in 2011. It was De Niro’s second marriage.

★ Ryan Reynolds ‘kidnapped’ former child star Fred Savage to promote his PG-13 Deadpool release this Christmas. Reynolds plays his wise-cracking Marvel character for a new “Once Upon a Deadpool” ad, in which he and Savage recreate a scene from “The Princess Bride”, in which Savage portrayed a sick kid listening to his grandfather read him a fairy-tale.  Reynolds says that “Fox has been asking for a PG-13 (version) basically since the start in 2006.  I’ve said no since 2006. Now, this one time, I said ‘Yes’ on two conditions.  First, a portion of the proceeds had to go to charity. Second, I wanted to kidnap Fred Savage. The second condition took some explaining…”  The family-friendly version of the “Deadpool” sequel hits theatres Dec. 12.

★ Casey Kasem’s family members are accusing each other of the murder of the legendary radio DJ in a vicious family feud. The feud pits Kasem’s three adult children — Kerri, Julie, and Michael — against his second wife, Jean, with both sides lobbing charges of elder abuse and “murder” at the other. The ongoing fight and accusations are the focus of an upcoming episode of “48 Hours”, which airs Sunday.

★ Bobby Bones was the underdog throughout season 27 of “Dancing With the Stars”, but he managed to pull off a surprising win during the finale on Monday.  The country radio personality and his pro partner, Sharna Burgess, received some of the season’s lowest scores, but that didn’t stop his dedicated fan base from ultimately getting him the mirrorball trophy. But immediately after the episode aired, some viewers took to social media to express their frustration, writing things like: “Bobby should have been kicked off on like week 2.” And “I’ve watched this show since season ONE! This is by far one of the most disappointing, ridiculous outcomes I have EVER seen.”
(You didn’t see the “Lost” finale, did you?)

★ Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle platform ‘Goop’ could be heading to Netflix. She has reportedly held early talks to land her own series, which would be based on her multi-million-dollar lifestyle brand. An insider says that a deal has been discussed, but both Goop and Netflix have chosen not to confirm the report. Keep in mind, in September, Paltrow publicly revealed her hopes for Goop to land a ”wellness” discussion-style TV show.

★ Willem Dafoe found that ”history had lied” about Vincent Van Gogh when he took on the role in the movie “At Eternity’s Gate”. Dafoe portrays the 19th century Dutch Post-Impressionist painter, and like most people, his understanding of Van Gogh was that he was a tortured soul who cut off part of his left ear with a razor. Dafoe says in researching the role, he discovered that the artist was a misunderstood ”hopeful character” who could be incredibly ”joyous”.

• Amy Winehouse — Photographer Blake Wood has published a book titled “Amy Winehouse,” which is a collection of previously unseen personal photos taken during their time together in London, Paris and Saint Lucia. • Brad Paisley — says when writing his new song ‘Bucked Off’, he applied what he learned from George Strait and Garth Brooks when he was growing up during what he feels is country’s ‘golden age’…the 80s and 90s.  He debuted the song at the 2018 CMA Awards.
• Garth Brooks — has announced two more dates for his upcoming 2019 Stadium Tour. He’ll play Gainesville, Fla. April 20, and Pittsburgh on May 18.  His massive Notre Dame Football Stadium show, which was the first-ever concert there, is set to air on CBS on Dec. 2 at 8PM ET.

WHO NOSE?
A new study suggests that breathing through your nose may offer unique benefits to your brain that breathing through your mouth does not.  They had volunteers inhale 12 different scents from small vials held to their noses. The subjects were told to memorize each scent. Afterward, they sat quietly for an hour either breathing through their mouths or their noses.  During that time, their brains should have been consolidating memories of the smells in the hippocampus region of the brain, according to the researchers’ hypothesis. The volunteers were then exposed to repeated scents and new ones, then asked to determine whether an odor had been sniffed earlier.  The men and women were consistently much better at recognizing smells if they breathed through their noses during the quiet hour. Mouth breathing resulted in fuzzier recall and more incorrect answers.  The lead author of the study says this could prove that nasal breathing enhances memory consolidation.  Or as you or I might put it, if you breathe through your nose, your brain just might function better.
(This is a fine time of year to tell me that!)
(I always thought there was something off about those mouth-breathers…)
(I’m dot zure how dot breathig drew your doze daffects your brain, but I’ve god a bretty good idea ow id daffects da way you dalk!)

PLAY WITH YOUR FOOD:
If you grew up being told never to play with your food, you just might want to grab some of this and take it over to Mom and Pop’s house.  Kraft has come up with a product designed for kids to both eat and play with.  “Jell-O Play”, which will be available next month, is basically edible slime.  It comes in strawberry-flavored Unicorn and lime-flavored Monster.  Each container makes two batches of slime…just add water.  And when the kids are done, Jell-O says it all washes away easily with soap and warm water.
(The part of it that is too gross to eat, that is…)
(Eat and play with it?  I hope not in that order…)
(Edible slime?  Sounds like most of my cooking experiences.  Except for the part about ‘edible’!)

SHOPPING DYNASTY:
With many of us warming up the credit cards for Black Friday tomorrow, and others holding out for Cyber Monday, here’s a heartwarming story about a “consumer holiday” … The Chinese internet retailer Alibaba made $31 BILLION in one day after making up a shopping holiday.  “Singles Day” was started by college students in the 1990s as a version of Valentines Day on Nov 11, honoring all those who’ve yet to wed. Alibaba, spotting an opportunity, helped develop it into a major shopping day for singles to woo that special someone.  How major? On Singles Day in 2017, Alibaba brought in more money than the total online sales in the United States from both Black Friday and Cyber Monday…COMBINED.  This year, Singles Day did more than $1 billion in sales in just one minute and 25 seconds, on the way to that $31 billion total for the day.
(That’s what I call holiday pay!)
