Sheet Happens!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Movie star Jennifer Lawrence and comedian Amy Schumer are writing a comedy film together. Their friendship is relatively new; J-Law admits she first met Schumer a few months ago after watching Amy’s film “Trainwreck” and says she immediately became a huge fan. Quote: “It’s been the most fun experience of my life. We start the day off on the phone, laughing. And then we send each other pages. And we crack up.” The screenplay, in which Lawrence & Schumer play sisters, is almost complete. Also helping out with the writing is Amy’s real-life sister, Kim Schumer.

★ Seems Sandra Bullock is off the market, according to media reports. The 51-year-old movie star is reported to be dating LA-based photographer Bryan Randall. People.com describes Randall as a 49-year-old lifestyle photographer from Portland OR who’s also had a modeling career, posing for fashion house Saint Laurent and “Harper’s Bazaar”. Bullock  reportedly brought Randall along as her date to the top-secret wedding of actors Jennifer Aniston & Justin Theroux on August 5th.

★ Acting couple Robin Wright & Ben Foster have reportedly called off their engagement a 2nd time and may have actually ended the relationship secretly a few months ago, according to a new report. The couple, who met on the set of the movie “Rampart” in 2011, became engaged in January 2014, then split up in November, only to reconcile a few weeks later. But now it seems the relationship is kaput. The “House of Cards” actress has 2 children from her marriage to actor Sean Penn, whom she divorced in 2010 after 14 years.

★ And thanks to a snitch, we’ve learned a few inside facts about 18-year-old reality TV star Kylie Jenner (“Keeping Up With the Kardashians”). Among the blabber’s claims …
• Kylie believes she’s the best looking member of the Kardashian-Jenner family, even more so than 19-year-old model sister Kendall Jenner.
• Her vanity is out of control. She takes 200 selfies a day and can’t walk past a reflective surface without checking herself out.
• She’s not the brightest candle on the cake. How she got her high school diploma is a mystery to anyone who knows her.

HERMIT WANTED:
A medieval sanctuary in Spain has issued a job ad to fill a vacancy for a hermit. Our Lady of the Rock, which dates from 1299 AD, has listed the requirements on Facebook. The successful candidate must ‘leave all uncivil or immoral activity outside’ in order to perform ‘all the proper duties of a hermit’. These include guarding and looking after the ancient hermitage, which sits atop a rock overlooking a small town in Catalonia. This particular hermit job involves little seclusion and actually requires the successful applicant to welcome visitors. The year-long tenure comes with free accommodation and a modest stipend of 1,000 euros … circa $1,100. (Just enough to cover a new loincloth every 30 days.)

SOME LIKE IT HOT:
People who enjoy hot & spicy food may live longer. That’s according to a recent study of people in China who eat spicy foods the most often. It’s not the first time there have been health claims about spices. The US National Institutes of Health suggests many of the claims have yet to be scientifically proven. Their review of a few …
• Cinnamon – While it has a long history as a folk cure for everything from bronchitis to diabetes, evidence for any health benefit is ‘generally lacking’.
• Garlic – Mixed evidence suggests it might slightly lower blood cholesterol and blood pressure. But a trial of garlic supplements to prevent stomach cancer has shown no effect.
• Turmeric – This Indian spice, used in curries and mustards, is touted as a pain reliever and aid to digestion and liver function. Lab studies suggest it may have anti-inflammatory effects, but the findings have not as yet been confirmed in humans.
One expert suggests the best thing about spicy flavors may be that they encourage us to eat healthier foods than we otherwise might. (It takes 87 spices to make eggplant palatable.)

PRESIDENT ‘YE:
In an apparent blunt-hazed fog Kanye West announced at the VMA’s that he’s running for US president in 2020. According to the twitterverse, here’s what that might look like …
✓ “The Campaign Posters Could Be Amazing … ‘Yeezus for President, Bruh!’.”
✓ “First Lady Kim would usher in a new era of stunning, curve-hugging outfits for everyone in politics.”
✓ “If Kanye becomes president he needs to make Yeezy Boosts accessible to the middle class.”
✓ “Debates would be … repetitive.”
✓ “‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ would be shot in the White House.”
✓ “When Kanye becomes president every wing of the White House will be the ‘West Wing’.”
✓ “Don’t expect (his long-in-the-works new album) ‘Swish’ to drop until at least 2029.”

FOR THE RECORD:
For the first time over 1 billion people have used Facebook on a single day, according to company founder Mark Zuckerberg. The milestone was reached last week when 1-in-7 people on Earth used Facebook to connect with friends and family. Facebook has nearly 1.5 billion users who log in at least once a month, but this was the most-ever in a single day. The company has almost peaked out as far as attracting users in North America, Europe, and India but there are huge gaps in its reach … Africa, much of Asia, and some of Latin America. These are the areas Facebook is now focused on.
