BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Jake Gyllenhaal has joined Instagram to tease his role in “Spider-Man: Far From Home”. While Gyllenhaal has repeatedly brushed off the speculation, he released his first video on the social media platform on Wednesday, with the short clip showing him reading an issue of The Amazing Spider-Man with the caption: “I just realized I’m not playing Spider-Man.”  It was reported in May that Gyllenhaal was in talks to play Mysterio.  “Spider-Man: Far From Home” is due to hit theaters in July 2019.

★ Gwyneth Paltrow has incurred the wrath of yoga fans after taking credit for bringing the ancient Indian practice to the mainstream. In an interview, she declared that yoga’s surge in popularity was all down to her, and people had initially called her a “witch” and a “freak” when she became involved in the spiritual practice. Paltrow said: “Forgive me if this comes out wrong, but I went to do a yoga class in L.A. recently and the 22-year-old girl behind the counter was like, ‘Have you ever done yoga before?’ And literally I turned to my friend, and I was like, ‘You have this job because I’ve done yoga before’”.  Not only does the practice of yoga go back thousands of years, but one viewer pointed out that Marilyn Monroe, who died 10 years before Paltrow was born, was also a big fan of yoga.

★ Anne Hathaway is considering the starring role in a “Sesame Street” feature film. The movie, which would likely include appearances from Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch and Cookie Monster, is said to be a musical. While Hathaway is the first choice for the project and has an offer, it is currently unclear if she will accept the role. Reports are that Chris Galletta, known for “Kings of Summer” wrote the most recent draft of the screenplay.

★ Damning video evidence of Bill Cosby’s alleged serial assaults on women was likely dumped in the ocean by his Playboy pal Hugh Hefner. That’s the shocking charge made by an attorney for model Chloe Goinsan, one of Cosby’s alleged victims.  The lawyer says, “I think there’s a high probability Hefner was dumping tapes that not only included Cosby, but others he was trying to protect.” It was recently reported that Hefner, who often hosted Cosby at his famed sex den, reportedly stashed his entire collection of X-rated tapes and photos in a cement-lined casket and had his aides dump it in the Pacific Ocean.

• Pretenders – Leader Chrissie Hynde says she “nicked” the melody for their 1986 hit ‘Don’t Get Me Wrong’ from British Airways:  She says she wrote part of the song on a plane, and the ‘chime’ used before announcements to passengers sounds suspiciously like the melody of the song.
• Heart — have released a video of their performance of ‘Lost Angel’ from their upcoming album “Live in Atlantic City”, and announced the guests who’ll appear alongside them. NOT THE WHISKEY TALKING:
Have you been told that you become someone else when you’ve had one too many?  According to research, your drunk alter-ego isn’t a separate identity at all. That’s the real you, pal.  A study published in Clinical Psychological Science had a group of 156 drinkers, well, drink, and asked their friends to join them in the lab to play games meant to bring out different personality traits. The drinkers rated their own personality traits during the session, while trained (and sober) raters assessed the same traits. While the drinkers noted personality differences in themselves while drunk, the sober onlookers didn’t see any big differences between their sober and drunk personalities — except for one thing: the drinks made those participants more extroverted. Obviously.  So, know that drunk or sober, even if you had a few extra tequila shots on your birthday, deep down inside, for better or worse, you remain that same special, unique, wonderful you.
(Who are you calling an incontinent drunk in a holding cell?)
(Suddenly I like a lot of my friends a whole lot more!)
(As long as that’s not the real me the next morning…)

TOO STUPID FOR US TO MAKE UP:
➢ A holiday display meant to re-create a scene from “Christmas Vacation” looks a little TOO real.  The Heerlein family of Austin, TX placed a dummy resembling Clark Griswold dangling from their house’s gutter – with a ladder tipping underneath him.  A passer-by thought he saw a man in distress and tried to move the ladder back into place, while shouting “Can you reach it?” to the dummy.  After police informed the family that they were causing some concern in the community, the family put up a sign asking people NOT to call 9-1-1.
(If he woke up tomorrow with his head sewn to the carpet, he wouldn’t be more surprised!)
-AP
➢ An 11-year-old Sandwich, Illinois boy says he was inspired to put his tongue on a frozen metal pole by the movie “A Christmas Story”.  And Spencer Cline now knows what happens when you do that in real life – Just like in the movie, your tongue gets stuck.  And it hurts.  While a friend went searching for hot water, Spencer managed to pry his tongue loose.  After receiving medical treatment, he’s expected to make a full recovery.
(And Sandwich, IL now has the country’s only metal pole with taste buds!)
-AP, MankatoFreePress
➢ Ten football players at a high school in Byron, Illinois were suspended from the team for three games after running across a field naked with Oreo cookies wedged between their buttocks.
The players were suspended for indecent exposure after school administrators concluded they went on the “Oreo Run” at the school’s football field voluntarily and were not victims of hazing.
(I don’t think even a tall, cold glass of milk could save those Oreos!)
-Fox35
➢ (***Caution: contains “farts” ***) A Dania Beach, Florida woman faces an aggravated assault charge after authorities say she passed gas in line at a dollar store and pulled a knife on a man who complained about it.  Police say that 37-year-old Shanetta Wilson passed gas while waiting in line at a Dollar General.  When another customer became offended, Wilson got into an argument “in reference to the defendant farting loudly.”  She then reportedly pulled a small folding knife out of her purse and told the victim she was going to “gut” him. Wilson was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill. It’s unclear if she has a lawyer.
(But it is fairly clear that she has gas!)

Cuba announced to its citizens this week that full internet access for mobile phones is now available.  Until now, Cubans have had access only to state-run email accounts on their phones.  Cuba becomes one of the last nations to offer mobile internet service.
