BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ The ongoing battle between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp has been thrown for a loop, after shocking audio between the two was revealed. In the recording, Heard apparently admits “hitting” her then-husband during one of their blowout arguments. The audio confession, which was released by The Daily Mail, is reportedly from a series of taped therapy sessions that took place while the two tried to work through their volatile marriage issues. With Heard’s admission of physical abuse on Depp, the hashtag “JusticeForJohnnyDepp” began trending on Twitter.

★ “Dog’s Most Wanted” is reportedly “on the backburner” for WGN America, and Duane “Dog” Chapman is focusing on himself. He would normally be filming new episodes of his show by now, but so far, he is on an extended hiatus. Dog is reportedly making the most of his unexpected free time — using it for self-exploration and grief management after losing his wife Beth in June. He’s also continuing his work as a regular off-camera bounty hunter and bail bondsman. The source noted that the job is still very real to him even when the cameras are not rolling.

★ Eva Mendes wasn’t going to let anyone get her down. She showed off her stylish new haircut on Instagram on Saturday. But the conversation quickly turned to Mendes defending herself after a troll wrote “she’s getting old” on her post. Instead of ignoring it, Mendes had the best response about the beauty of aging, writing: “Yes you’re right. Thank God I’m getting old. That means I’m still here. I’m gonna be 46 soon and grateful every day that I’m aging. Was your comment suppose to make me feel bad? It didn’t.” When another user came to her defence, Mendes wrote: “Let’s make it all about love for 2020. So, thanks for the love!!!! Sending it right back!!!!!”

★ Renee Zellweger says fans shout her iconic “Jerry Maguire” line at her ”a couple of times” a week. She caused tears all around the world when she starred as single mother in the 1996 romantic comedy and uttered the words ”You had me at hello” to Tom Cruise’s sports agent character. She says that when fans repeat the line, QUOTE: ”It still touches me. What a cool thing that somebody gives you a line like that!” -ContactMusic

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PORCUPINE AND A BMW? (Google it):
I’m sure you’re just like me, and you sometimes feel a special kind of disdain toward an arrogant driver who drives a European luxury car, as opposed to just a regular beater. It turns out, your anger was probably directed at the right person. A study in Finland found that argumentative and egotistical men are particularly likely to drive cars like Mercedes, Audis or BMWs, and those same personality traits can also explain why these people can be such aggressive and unethical drivers. In a survey of almost 2,000 car owners, they found that men who drive high-end German cars have less empathy, are more disagreeable, and are more willing to fight. The study’s lead author believes that drivers of that type of vehicle feel as though they are “special” and may even feel that traffic rules do not apply to them.
(Do you think that if they ever make a self-driving Mercedes, the computer will be programmed to be a jerk, too?)
(That’s why, if you see a Mercedes driver use his turn signal, you should immediately report it stolen!)
(And the worst part is they always have tinted windows, so you’re never sure if they saw you make that rude gesture at them…)

SOME RUFF NEWS:
The founder of PETA says that you may be walking your dog all wrong. Ingrid Newkirk says that many pet owners rush their dogs along on their walks, and are probably being a little too distant for our dog’s liking as well. She says to a dog, a walk isn’t a simple “bathroom break.” It is a “very special occasion” when the dog has a chance to smell and look at things. Newkirk says we should let our mutts take the opportunity to sniff around and enjoy themselves. Or, as she puts it, “That’s their way they read the news, that’s their internet. Don’t drag them along.” She also says that we owners should be more ‘present’ during our walks. That means getting off the phone and enjoying the outdoors with our dear doggo.
(I’ve always said that when my dear dog is smelling the neighbor’s tree, she’s checking her messages…)
(I’m fine with staying off my phone during our walk, if Rover agrees to stay off the company’s leg when we’re home!)
(The preceding suggestion about not “dragging our dog along” does not apply if temperatures dip below minus 5°C!)

IT’S NOT TOO LATE (to get sick):
How to prevent cold and flu [and coronavirus?] in winter…
☞ Wash your hands – often:  It is the number one defense against colds and many other common winter bugs. Effective handwashing means 20 seconds of vigorous rubbing with plain soap and water.
☞ Humidify inside and out:  Keep your body well hydrated and your indoor air humidified. Hang laundry indoors, keep houseplants, set a steamer on the stove to release moisture gradually. (Am I helping by not getting around to washing those dishes that have been soaking for 2 days?)
☞ Exercise (lightly):  It boosts the immune system. One caution: If you have a fever or anything more serious than a light cold, rest up and lay off the exercise. (The one good thing about getting sick…)
☞ Get outdoors more often:  You’ll experience a better mood and a boost in energy by getting outside on cold, sunny winter days. Light therapy also goes a long way towards staving off winter depression (low energy, food cravings, lack of enthusiasm).
☞ Eat your fruit and veggies:  Increase your daily intake of green, red, yellow and white vegetables to improve immune function.
☞ Get enough sleep:  Sleeping well reduces your chances of heart problems and other chronic diseases, improves immune function, and even helps prevent obesity.
☞ Reduce stress:  Stress weakens the immune system, and winter can add stress through dealing with storms and power outages, sick kids, less daylight, snow shoveling, etc. (Plus, what the groundhog said…)
☞ Get a flu shot:  That’s it. Get a flu shot. It’s the best thing you can do.
(What about remembering “Cough and sneeze…elbow please”? Preferably your own!)
