Bully For You!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ “Full House” and “Fuller House” stars Dave Coulier, Candace Cameron Bure, Andrea Barber, and Scott Weinger are set to reunite for the highly anticipated ’90s Con, a 2-day event in Hartford CT, from March 11-13. And as Coulier himself puts it, this reunion will be one for the books since the cast are more than just co-stars—after all these years, they’re practically family. The Full House “family” suffered a tragic loss earlier this year when Bob Saget, known for his role as ‘Danny Tanner’ in the series, passed away on Jan. 9 at the age of 65. And the Full House stars won’t be the only ones bringing the nostalgia, as other ensembles are set to join, including the casts of “Sabrina the Teenage Witch”, “Family Matters”, “Boy Meets World”, “Hocus Pocus” and more.

★ Seven-time Super Bowl Champion and recently retired football pro Tom Brady is making the leap from the gridiron to the silver screen. Brady is set to act in and produce “80 For Brady,” a road trip comedy for Paramount. 80 for Brady is inspired by the true story of 4 New England Patriots fans who take a lifechanging trip to the 2017 Super Bowl to see their hero Tom Brady play, and the chaos that ensues as they navigate the wilds of the biggest sporting event in the country. The film will also star Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno and Sally Field.

★ Charlize Theron and costar Tom Hardy clashed bigtime while filming 2015’s “Mad Max: Fury Road”. Journalist Kyle Buchanan’s new book “Blood, Sweat & Chrome: The Wild and True Story of Mad Max: Fury Road” details the strained relationship between Theron and Hardy, which got so bad at one point that Theron requested “protection” from Hardy. Theron, who played ‘Imperator Furiosa’ in the film, claimed in the book that her costar was often late to set, including one day when he arrived over 3 hours after his 8 a.m. call time, sparking a discussion between the two that another person working on the movie says made it “clear that those two people hated each other.”

★ The final episodes of “Ozark” are fast approaching. Netflix has announced that “Ozark Season 4 — Part 2” will debut on April 29. The streamer also released the first teaser for the second half of the season. Showrunner Chris Mundy spoke in January about the decision to split the final season in half, explaining that he and his team were trying to decide whether the show would end with Season 4 or Season 5. Quote: “Then Netflix hit upon the idea of saying, ‘We’ll [end with Season 4] but we’ll make it long. We’ll split it in this way’. That felt perfect.” LINK: https://tinyurl.com/3n3bf496

• Megan Thee Stallion – is suing her record label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, about what constitutes an album. The dispute is about her 2021 release “Something For Thee Hotties”, which was classed as a mixtape. • (***Caution: “f—ing***) Foo Fighters — After decades of rocking out on stage, Dave Grohl says he’s starting to pay the price. He described himself as “f—ing deaf” during an interview with Howard Stern, explaining that he has relied on reading lips for the past 20 years.
• Heart — guitarist Nancy Wilson will be touring this year under the moniker “Nancy Wilson’s Heart”, with a lineup that doesn’t include her sister, singer Ann Wilson. Vocals will be handled by Kimberly Nichole, a finalist on Season 8 of “The Voice”. The sisters have been at odds in recent years.
• David Bowie – Showtime has released the first trailer for its new “The Man Who Fell to Earth” series, and its’ clear the show intends to pay homage to him. • Tim McGraw – says he was nervous about asking Faith Hill to play his wife on TV. Although the 2 have been together for 25 years, because he is such a big fan of “Yellowstone”, when he was asked to play James Dutton in the prequel series “1883”, and producers inquired if he thought Hill would play his wife, he says it took him 3 days “to get up the nerve to ask her.”

FLASHBACK FRIDAY:
It turns out that the old cliché of your life flashing before your eyes as you die just might be 100% true. A team of scientists were measuring the brainwaves of an 87-year-old patient who had developed epilepsy, but the patient suddenly suffered a heart attack and died. Analysis showed that in the 30 seconds before and after passing away, the man’s brainwaves followed the same patterns as dreaming or recalling memories. Dr Ajmal Zemmar, a co-author of the study, said that what the team, based in Vancouver BC, accidentally got, was the first-ever recording of a dying brain. So, . . . are we talking about an episode of “This Was Your Life” featuring mostly happy memories? The doctor said: “I would speculate that if the brain did a flashback, it would probably like to remind you of good things, rather than the bad things. But what’s memorable would be different for every person.”
(Great. I’m going to be stuck with an endless loop of meetings with an HR person!)
(I thought I read that Adobe no longer supports Flash Player!)
(And in case you missed it there…yes, his brainwaves kept on flashing back 30 seconds AFTER the guy was dead!)

NEWS OF THE WEIRD:
➢ A North Carolina family had an extra-special “Twosday” when a baby was born at 2:22 a.m. on 2/22/22. The Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington said in a Facebook post that Judah Grace Spear was born Tuesday — known as “Twosday” by many, due to the Feb. 22 date being stylized as 2/22/22 — at 2:22 a.m. – and, get this, the baby was born in delivery room #2. The hospital said mother Aberli’s pregnancy was already considered extra special by the family because the treatments she underwent for Hodgkin’s lymphoma made conceiving unlikely. (What? She couldn’t have REALLY made it awesome and had twins?)
➢ An Ohio teacher has been suspended after her alleged sex tape was AirDropped to 200 of her high school students. The raunchy footage — reportedly involving the unidentified teacher and her boyfriend — was stored on her cellphone and sent out to students at Ginn Academy in Cleveland on Feb. 7. A police report was subsequently filed by the school’s principal. The teacher reportedly admitted that she had the X-rated video stored on her personal cellphone, but said she did not AirDrop it to anyone. A cybersecurity expert told a local news outlet that it is possible the educator’s phone was hacked. (She’s currently consulting with the physics teacher on whether it’s possible to put toothpaste back in the tube . . .)

DID YOU KNOW?
An 18-year-old in Minnesota is $1,800 richer thanks to an agreement he made with his mom, promising to stay off social media until he was an adult. Sivert Klefsaas was 12 when he made the deal with his mother, which she called the “18 for 18 Challenge”. On Facebook, Lorna Klefsaas shared a picture of her son, along with the phone and the check he earned, with the caption: “He turns 18 tomorrow. He will have $1800 in his pocket and new accounts on Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter!” Sivert said it wasn’t too hard growing up without social media, and his friends kept him up to date on any info or trends he might be missing. But once he turned 18, he immediately created new accounts. Quote: “It’s hilarious. I feel like I’m 80. I can’t seem to figure out social media. It’s pretty embarrassing.” (Anti-social behavior?)

BS CHRONOMETER 02.25.22

TODAY’S BS REASONS TO PARTY . . .
• “Clam Chowder Day”, a day to add a little heat to your Winter with a bit of bacon, onion, and flour; some diced potatoes and a can of clams, simmered in clam juice and milk. Add lots of black pepper.
• “Let’s All Eat Right Day”, honoring Adelle Davis, one of America’s best-known nutritionists. Born February 25th 1904, she wrote a series of books about healthy living. (…as opposed to any other day, when it’s “Let’s eat. All right!”)
• “National Chocolate-Covered Peanuts Day” (there goes “Let’s All Eat Right Day”!), The first chocolate-covered peanut candies were “Goobers”, first sold in 1925. The word “Goober” was a common slang word for peanut (and for many of my relatives!)
• “Quiet Day”, also known as “National Don’t Utter a Word Day”. It’s a day to lower the noise level for a healthier and more relaxed life.
• “Pistol Patent Day”, Samuel Colt invented the pistol. He received Patent #138 for it on this day in 1836. The patent was for the Colt Revolver with a rotating chamber containing 6 bullets.
• “International Stand Up to Bullying Day”, in which participants sign and wear a pink shirt to take a visible stance against bullying. It is based on a campaign started by Travis Price and David Shepherd, who took a stand for a fellow student who was bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school.

SATURDAY-
• “For Pete’s Sake Day”, which asks the pressing question, “Just who the heck is Pete, anyway, and why would we do anything for his sake?”
• “Levi Strauss’ Birthday” (1829-1902), the man who created the first Levi’s blue jeans for California’s gold miners in 1850. Without him, many of us wouldn’t have a wardrobe.
• “Personal Chefs Day”, an annual reminder to consider hiring a private chef for a day, a unique way to entertain friends and business guests in your home. It’s not as costly as you might think.
• “Tell a Fairytale Day”, Yeah, inflict some of the most violent stories ever written onto your innocent, unsuspecting child. (What’s the scariest of all-time? “Fee, fi, foe, fum …”)
• “World Pistachio Day”, betcha can’t eat just one! BS FACTOID: Once upon a time, pistachios were sold in a bright red color which left your hands a vivid hue of cherry. Today, a more mechanized harvesting process means they are picked, hulled and dried before the shell has a chance to become stained or marked, so there is no need to dye them.

SUNDAY-
• “International Polar Bear Day”, declared by conservation group Polar Bears International to heighten awareness of the declining population of the big white guys of the Far North.
• “Kahlua Day”, celebrating the coffee-flavored liqueur from Mexico that contains rum, corn syrup, and vanilla bean. Mix it with milk and – voila! – a ‘brown cow’.
• “No Brainer Day”, when we’re encouraged to slack off. Any activity attempted should be something done without serious thought … a ‘no brainer’ activity. (Like this show, for instance.)
• “National Retro Day”, swoop your hair into a mile-high beehive or strut those 8-inch bell bottoms. And don’t hesitate to break out the old roller skates and see if you still have those mad skills.
• “Strawberry Day”, paying homage to one of the most popular fruits in the world. Strawberries are the first fruit to ripen every year, so they are often called the “taste of spring.” They’re delicious and incredibly good for you. Each bite is packed with vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber. BS FUN FACT: The average strawberry has 200 seeds, and they are the only fruit with seeds on the outside.
