100% Grade A Bull!

★ Ewan McGregor has filed for divorce from his wife of 22 years. He cited irreconcilable differences as the reason he wants to end his marriage to Eve Mavrakis. The announcement came shortly after pics surfaced of Ewan kissing his “Fargo” co-star, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, at a London café.
(Yeah, I could see that being an irreconcilable difference…)
★ Audiences are used to seeing Jason Momoa kick butt onscreen, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t human. While speaking about his new movie, ‘Braven’ — Momoa revealed that he nearly ended up with a second facial scar when a choreographed bar fight scene went totally wrong. He says he was working with some stuntmen that he hadn’t worked with before when “I got knocked out…a stunt guy hit me. He blindsided me.”  The incident landed Momoa in the hospital and caused production on the film to shut down for the day. Now, Momoa says he brings in “people I know and know how to dance with in terms of the choreography.”
★ Meghan Markle broke some very important royal protocol during her official engagement in Cardiff on Thursday – but it made her fans very happy!  The soon-to-be royal signed an autograph for a young girl who had waited for hours outside Cardiff Castle to get a glimpse of the couple.  She also posed for a selfie with another fan, despite previously saying she was “not allowed” to take photos with members of the public during an official engagement.
★ Catherine Zeta-Jones has distanced herself from sexual assault allegations surrounding her husband Michael Douglas.  Earlier this month, Douglas pre-emptively denied a potential claim that he harassed a former employee 32 years ago, in an alleged incident which involved him touching himself in front of her.  Zeta Jones says while she supports her husband, she also supports “Times Up, Me Too, 110 percent. Always have”.  As for Douglas, she says he “now has to take the next step for where he goes from here. It’s a question for him, because it happened 30 years ago. It was B.C. ..Before Catherine.”
★ Today is the big day for Minnie Mouse.  She will be honored with the 2,627th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  Minnie made her debut in the Disney classic, Steamboat Willie, and she instantly became America’s sweetheart.  Katy Perry will make the presentation.

(***Final auction result here: ***)

• Carrie Underwood – Has posted a picture showing her hand X-ray with the caption, “Last check up on the old wrist this morning!!…I’m good to go!”  The X-ray clearly shows a metal plate and some screws.  In November, she suffered a fall in which she broke her wrist and injured her face.

If you are trying to lose weight, don’t tell your friends.  That’s the word from a study published in the journal ‘Obesity’.  According to research, more than 75% of respondents said they “never” or “rarely” felt supported by friends or family when they were trying to lose weight.  Good thing, too…researchers found that participants who didn’t receive support from friends were the most likely to shed pounds.  Jealously, insecurity and competitiveness are three likely reasons that friends have trouble supporting other friends who are trying to change their diet.
(So if you are trying to take off the pounds, just keep your mouth shut…in more ways than one!)
(The reason your friends don’t want you to lose weight is because whenever you diet, you always order salad and then eat all their fries!)

MIT scientists published the results of a study on Thursday that show Earth is gradually drifting AWAY from the Sun.  Hold on.  Don’t run up your credit cards with wild abandon just yet.  The theory has always been that as the Sun ages and sheds mass, the gravitational pull it exerts on its planets weakens.  That means that the orbits of the planets in our solar system slowly expand over time. Finally, scientists have calculated this shift.  If you’re picturing a dystopian future where the Earth breaks away and disappears into the cold abyss of space, ummm don’t panic.  It’s not quite that dramatic.  They figure Earth’s orbit of the sun expands by about 1.5 centimeters per year.  That’s a rough estimate, because the Sun’s rate of mass loss changes throughout its lifetime of 10 billion years.  By the time the Sun burns out, Earth will only be 0.1% further from the Sun than it is now.
(I thought it was getting colder!)
(Someone please break the news to Kanye that they have just proven that the world does not revolve around HIM!)

The dishes and silverware may look spotless, but a new study says the actual dishwasher you used to clean them in could be crawling with potentially dangerous bacteria and fungus.  University researchers in Slovenia found that a sample of dishwashers contained bacteria that are linked to urinary tract infections, skin infections, food poisoning, heart infections, and the fungus linked to thrush.  The age of the dishwasher, how often the dishwasher is used, and the hardness of incoming tap water had “significant impact on bacterial and fungal composition,” the researchers said.  The good news?  These opportunistic pathogens are supposedly capable of causing disease only when a person’s resistance is lowered, such as someone with a compromised immune system, a prior infection, or the elderly.  It’s suspected that bacteria and fungus get into the dishwashers via food, tap water, people and pets.  To keep the microbes contained, it is suggested that you don’t open the dishwasher until it has cooled down after completing it’s cycle.
(No biggie. ***Screams while vomiting***)
(I’ll still take the germs rather than having to wash dishes myself!)
(OK, OK, OK.  I’ll stop cleaning my workout shoes in there.)

Scientifically-backed methods of falling asleep…
☞ Cool Down Your Brain: buy an Elasto-Gel Hot/Cold Therapy Cranial Cap, $45.87.  Not only does this (weird looking) cap help you fall asleep, it’s apparently all-around better for your health than sleeping in the heat.  A study showed that keeping your brain cooled down can help with insomnia.  (Or you could, you know, cool down your room…)
☞ Take A Sleepy Supplement At Bedtime: Magnesium capsules should do the trick.  Magnesium works to calm you down, plus it regulates the body’s sleep hormone, melatonin. (My sleep supplement is a third serving of mashed potatoes!)
☞ The 4-7-8 Breathing Technique:  Inhale to a count of four, hold your breath for a count of seven, and exhale for a count of eight. Repeat as much as you need to…usually works in less than a minute!  (Don’t do this while driving…)
☞ Keep Your Socks On: While science says to keep your head cool, you want to keep those toes nice and toasty.  Keeping your feet warm helps you fall asleep more quickly. (Socks also help you sleep by keeping your husband away!)
☞ Splash Your Face With Some Cold Water: Or go whole-hog and dunk your face or head in freezing cold water. It is an extreme version of the sleeping cap or cooling your room, but the dunk allows for an added shock-and-relax response to your nervous system.  (So why is it that is what I do to WAKE UP??)
(My sleeping hack?  Let her pick the movie!)
