Bully For You!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Logan Paul is once again apologizing for posting a video on his popular YouTube channel that showcased a dead body, and the disrespectful reaction of him and his entourage.  The popular vlogger, with more than 15 million subscribers, uploaded a video that showed what appeared to be the body of an apparent suicide victim in a Japanese forest.  He has since deleted the video and posted a statement, and now he has posted a video apology.  In the clip, he says: “I should have never posted the video.  I should have put the cameras down, (and) stopped recording…There are a lot of things I should have done differently, but I didn’t.  For that, from the bottom of my heart, I am sorry.”

★ Kim Kardashian West’s son Saint is ”all better” after being admitted to hospital with pneumonia. Kim has confirmed her two-year-old son was treated for the condition, which involves infection and inflammation of the lungs, and says it was the scariest thing seeing her little boy hooked up on oxygen machines and IVs.  Saint was rushed to hospital in an ambulance on Thursday.

★ Paris Hilton is getting married.  Everyone’s favorite heiress/DJ/mogul announced her engagement to boyfriend Chris Zylka on Tuesday.  She Tweeted (of course…): “I am so excited to be engaged to the love of my life and my best friend.  I have never felt so happy, safe and loved. He is perfect for me in every way and showed me that fairytales really do exist!” The couple have been dating for nearly two years.
(Why do I feel like I’ve already seen the wedding video?)

★ Rumer Willis is removing the tattoo she got as a permanent reminder of her time on ‘Dancing with the Stars’.  Rumer, the daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, won the reality show in 2015 with professional dancer Val Chmerkovskiy, and she celebrated her victory by having an image of the pair embracing one another inked onto the inside of her right bicep.
(PERMANENT reminder?)

★ Rose McGowan will star in a docu-series about her life. The five-part series – which will air on E! – will be called ‘Citizen Rose’ and will help to ”amplify” Rose’s messages of ”bravery, art, joy and survival” in the wake of the sexual misconduct allegations made against the likes of Harvey Weinstein and other powerful Hollywood men.

★ You might know the correct response to a clue on “Jeopardy!”, but if you pronounce it wrong, it could cost you. On a $1,600 clue in Double Jeopardy on Monday, Alex Trebek asked the contestants to name a song from rapper Coolio’s “Dangerous Minds” soundtrack album that shared a word with John Milton’s famous 1667 novel. The correct response is “Gangsta’s Paradise,” which  Nick Spicher correctly identified.  But later on, Trebek informed him that judges deemed his response incorrect because he pronounced the title as “Gangster’s Paradise” rather than “Gangsta’s.” That lack of street cred cost him $3,200. Fortunately for him, he still won the game.
(But you have to admit, it WAS a pretty gangsta way to lose $3,200!)

CREDIT OVERDUE:
You’ve heard the term ‘cashless society’ thrown about in recent years.  It is the concept that with the use of credit cards, automatic deposits and billing, and debit cards and the like, that pretty soon we may never carry cash.  But how about this?  Now, money experts are saying that we may also go without credit cards in the near future.  Or at least credit cards as we know them….in their current plastic form.  Word is that plastic credit cards will be completely phased out some day, replaced by a new system that involves digital money transfers through smartphones and other devices.  We are already seeing things like Apple Pay, e-transfers, and Amazon Cash, which allow you to pay online without the use of a credit card.  And digital peer-to-peer payments are becoming increasingly popular because they can eliminate high transaction fees and processing or service fees, all while remaining secure.  And yes, the big knocks on the current credit card method of payment are exactly that: Security and high fees.
(I don’t know about the end of credit cards, but I HAVE reached the end of my credit!)
(I suppose the problem might be when you drop your phone in the toilet, and then you can’t pay for a new one, because your phone is in the toilet!)
(I don’t know what this new system will be, but remind me to invest in it!)

I ‘C’ WHAT YOU DID THERE:
According to Tom Corley, an accountant and financial planner who did a survey among self-made millionaires, 80% of them share a common trait.  What is it?  Confidence?  Independent thinking?  Extroversion? Nope.  None of the above.  He found that 4 out of 5 self made millionaires were not ‘A’ students in school.  In fact, more of them were ‘C’ students than were ‘A’ students.  Why?  He says that he can only conclude that, “…success in life does not come easy. It is fraught with pitfalls, obstacles, failure, and mistakes.  Success requires persistence, mental toughness and emotional toughness.  Individuals who struggle academically may be more accustomed to dealing with struggle and making it a daily habit to overcome pitfalls.”
(Let’s all say it together: “There is hope for me yet!”)
(I’m also used to struggling, but unlike them, MY struggle doesn’t involve getting the lid off my jar of grey poupon!)
(I don’t care if I’m a SELF-MADE millionaire….I just want to be a millionaire….Oh.  Wait.  NOW I get his point!)
