★ The Big Bang Theory’s Johnny Galecki says ‘everyone’s very comfortable’ with the idea of the comedy wrapping up after next season. Galecki made the remarks while appearing on a panel at the Television Critics Association winter press tour in Pasadena, California, when he was asked about the future of the program. That would mean the wildly-successful CBS program could wrap up when the show’s 12th season concludes after the 2018/2019 TV season.

★ Meghan Markle managed to find the perfect Christmas gift for Queen Elizabeth II, but her adorable corgis “mauled” it. Markle managed to find a singing toy hamster outfitted in a Santa suit for the Queen. When she gave to it to her, she couldn’t help but laugh and say that her dogs will now have company. The royal family is known for giving each other symbolic and hilarious gifts for Christmas as opposed to expensive ones.
(Apparently, the Queen loved her gift. The corgis didn’t.)

★ O.J. Simpson is playing high stakes with the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas – by claiming he will sue them for $100 million. The Juice wants to sue them for being ‘racist’ after they banned him for being drunk and disruptive. The hotel counters that on November 9, the infamous football legend was actually drunk and disruptive.

★ Barbra Streisand criticized the Golden Globes for it’s lack of female director nominations and winners while presenting the final award at the ceremony on Sunday evening. That was 34 years ago. Folks, time’s up. We need more women directors and more women to be nominated for best director. There are so many films out there that are so good directed by women.”

• Drake – has laughed off criticism about his dental hygiene, insisting that a speck on his tooth in a recent photo is actually a pink diamond. He posted a series of images from a night out on Instagram, but one pic caught the attention of a follower, who called Drake out for apparently missing a spot of food or other substance pictured on his front tooth.
• Bruno Mars – pays tribute to the classic sketch comedy show ‘In Living Color’ with the new music video for his ‘Finesse’ remix. He revealed on Wednesday that he had recruited Cardi B to revamp the song, which was originally featured on his 2016 album 24K Magic.
• Lana Del Rey – says Radiohead is suing her for copyright infringement because they say her song ‘Get Free’ copies elements of its1993 hit song, ‘Creep’. She wrote on Twitter, “It’s true about the lawsuit … Their lawyers have been relentless, so we will deal with it in court.”
• Moody Blues – multi-instrumentalist Ray Thomas has died just months before his long-awaited induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. He had just turned 76 on Dec. 29. His record company says that he “passed away suddenly at his home in Surrey on Thursday.” No cause of death was mentioned.
• Roger Waters – He, Peter Gabriel, Tom Morello and Brian Eno are among the musicians, actors and artists who signed an open letter supporting Lorde after she canceled her Israel concert. The open letter came to her defense after a prominent rabbi called the singer a “bigot” for canceling the Tel Aviv show amid pressure from the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, which opposes Israel’s treatment of Palestinians.
• KISS – Gene Simmons held his first ‘Vault Experience’ box set event Saturday in Los Angeles and fans were treated to an eight-hour day full of songs and stories, plus appearances by Kiss alumni Ace Frehley, Bruce Kulick and Eric Singer.
• Kelsea Ballerini – is honeymooning with her new husband Morgan Evans. She is posting a variety of stunning photos on social media…including one containing a rather hilarious blooper.
Evans was filming Ballerini while she jumped into the water, but the phone slipped out of his grasp and sank…while still filming. Remarkably, the device wasn’t damaged. “Somehow, no iPhone was harmed in the making,” Ballerini wrote, calling it an “amazing #fail.”
• Carrie Underwood – Fans tuning into the NFL wild-card match-up between the Atlanta and Los Angeles Saturday night were treated to a sneak preview of her new and highly anticipated football anthem, “The Champion”. It is scheduled to be released before the Super Bowl in February.

THE LATEST THING FOR PEOPLE WITH TOO MUCH MONEY:
The latest health craze in the U.S. just might not turn out to be so healthy. There are actually people who are purposely drinking untreated, unfiltered water. And paying a pretty penny to do it. It is called “raw water” and it is exactly that….straight from the ground…or the river…or wherever. Last week, the New York Times ran an article about the bizarre trend of raw water. At the Rainbow Grocery in San Francisco’s Mission District, the store was selling raw water for $36.99 for 2.5 gallons. After the New York Times article was published, demand grew and they then started charging $38.49 for the same 2.5 gallons, or $60.99 for the raw water in a decorative jug. Reminder: A typical 2.5-gallon jug of regular old filtered water costs approximately $5 and a glass of tap water is basically free. Despite the ludicrous price of the raw water, it sold out. What does it taste like? One convert describes it like this: “It has a vaguely mild sweetness, a nice smooth mouth feel, nothing that overwhelms the flavor profile.”
(Unless there is a farm in the area…)
(And that’s why they call it a health ‘craze’….these people are crazy!)
(So I guess by ‘Raw’, they don’t just mean that it hasn’t been cooked…)

HOW ABOUT SOME GOOD NEWS?
NASA says it has found evidence that the hole in the ozone layer above earth is healing. The 2017 Antarctic ozone hole was the smallest seen in nearly 30 years. In September 2017, the Antarctic ozone hole reached its smallest maximum area since 1988, dropping below 20 million square kilometres. It was in 1987 that the United Nations met to sign the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer. This agreement phased out the production of chlorofluorocarbons, in favor of chemicals that would perform the same function, but not have as large an impact on stratospheric ozone. With this study, we have the first direct evidence of the success of the Montreal Protocol. The ozone layer is a region of Earth’s stratosphere that absorbs most of the Sun’s ultraviolet radiation.
(I also attribute this to the fact that I asked my parents to stop burning my kid’s diapers when they are babysitting my kids!)
(To me, the good news is that even without the use of chlorofluorocarbons, they are still able to make spray cheese in a can!)

USELESS HOUSEHOLD ITEMS YOU SHOULD GET RID OF IN 2018:
According to Productivity coach and professional organizer Clare Kumar of Streamlife…
✗ Cellphones – we all have old ones lying around. Wipe them and either sell them or recycle them. (I don’t see ever having a use for that 1990s flip phone that’s lying behind the work bench in the basement…)
✗ Cords and chargers – cords from old phones, tablets, computers, televisions or just back-ups that have been piling up for years. Recycle them or just give them to someone who could use them. (How do I know who could use them when I don’t even know what most of them are for?)
✗ Clothes – they end up being the largest pile of unnecessary junk in your home because we can’t seem to let go of them. If you have good clothes in good condition that you never wear anymore, consider selling them at a consignment store or online. (What if you have bad clothes in bad condition that you still wear all the time? Asking for a friend…)
✗ Old cameras – unless you are a professional photographer or you have some type of sentimental connection to the device, you probably have zero use for your bulky old digital cameras. Save the photos, wipe the cameras and recycle them.
✗ Treasured items – we hold on to vintage or family heirlooms as keepsakes, and if you don’t want to let go of them, find a use for them. If you have a tea set from your mother sitting around, use it to hold makeup brushes or lipstick. Or integrate keepsakes with your workstation or use them as art. (Or you know, use it to drink tea…)
✗ Gifts – Often we hold on to gifts because we’re afraid to offend the gift-giver. Donate it, sell it, re-gift it — whatever the item is, if it has no value or space in your life, get rid of it. (Hard to find a taker for those knitted ties from Grandma, though…)
✗ Makeup – make it a habit to let go of fancy packaging, limited edition beauty tools and colors or trends you don’t see yourself wearing anymore. If they are gently used, you can also consider selling or trading them online. If unused, donate it to a shelter. (Wait…you’re telling me that women sometimes let makeup accumulate?)
✗ Magazines and newspapers – people end up with mountains of magazines and newspapers because they don’t have a proper system for filing them. It can also be hard to let go of print publications that don’t exist anymore. Keep any clipping that holds nostalgic value to you, scan the ones sitting in boxes, and recycle the rest. (Newspapers aren’t the type of thing you want to read more than once anyway…)
