100% Grade A Bull!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Bill Cosby got an uninvited visitor last week when a drone was flown over his home away from home — State Correctional Institute Phoenix. The drone made the pass while Cosby was being escorted around the yard. He gets an escort due to his blindness. Prison security measures detected the drone and the entire facility was immediately placed under lockdown for a full day. Prison officials believe a media outlet sent the drone to get a shot of 81-year-old Cosby … who’s doing 3 to 10 years for sexual assault.

★ The afternoon extension of “Good Morning America” is getting a new name and look, according to a source. On Monday, audience members noticed a new set and logo that downplay emphasis on the show’s links to ABC’s morning flagship, and place more significance on hosts Michael Strahan and Sara Haines. The show has reportedly been re-titled “Strahan and Sara.” ABC News declined comment.

★ Zoe Kravitz is taking on the lead role in the upcoming Disney+ television series reboot of the beloved music-obsessed movie “High Fidelity.” And there’s a fun family connection: The 2000 film featured her mom, Lisa Bonet. Zoe will not be playing the same part that Lisa did. The newly-engaged actress is taking on the starring role of a music-obsessed record store owner that was made famous by John Cusack.

★ Jason Bateman is reportedly set to direct John Cena in a new action-comedy movie for Netflix. The film is said to be similar in feel to the 2018 crime movie “Game Night”, which Bateman starred in.  The plot for the Netflix project tells the story of a family that gets stuck in an old abandoned movie studio.  No title has been revealed, but word is that Bateman will also have a role in the film.

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Kanye West – He and his wife Kim Kardashian are not allowed on “The Voice” set.  Rookie coach John Legend was pushing for West to be an advisor for Team John, but when the other coaches, Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, and Adam Levine got word of it, they voiced their concerns to the higher-ups, who decided the couple will not be welcome on-set.
• Pink — Her 2001 hit ‘Get the Party Started’ was almost first recorded by Madonna.  4 Non Blondes singer Linda Perry, who wrote the song, says the original path she had in mind was for it to become a hit for the Material Girl, but she declined to record it.
• Mariah Carey – The women-led organization CodePink have called upon her cancel tomorrow’s performance in Saudi Arabia.  The activists insist she should pull out due to Saudi Arabia’s jailing of women’s rights advocates and alleged human rights abuse.
• The Who — have announced a London show at Wembley Stadium on July 6.  It will feature special guests including Eddie Vedder, Kaiser Chiefs, plus more acts to be announced.  As previously confirmed for the tour, the group will be accompanied by an orchestra.
• Bruce Springsteen – “Blinded by the Light”, a film about a Muslim in Britain whose life changes after hearing the music of Bruce Springsteen, premiered at the Sundance film festival, and has scored a distribution deal with Warner.  A release date is yet to be determined, but they’re aiming for this summer.
• Michael Jackson – His family has released a statement condemning the documentary “Leaving Neverland”, which alleges he molested underage boys. It says in part: “We can’t just stand by while this public lynching goes on…Michael is not here to defend himself, otherwise these allegations would not have been made…But the truth is on our side. Go do your research about these opportunists. The facts don’t lie, people do. Michael Jackson was and always will be 100% innocent of these false allegations.”
• Kane Brown — rocked his Columbia, S.C., audience on Friday with a cover of the All-American Rejects’ 2008 hit ‘Gives You Hell’. After leading for most of the song, he paused to let his fans take over the final chorus, which they sang word-for-word.
• Tim McGraw — will headline Sunday’s Super Bowl pregame party, part of which will be aired live on CBS. His new single ‘Thought About You’ will be aired during the pregame show.  FYI, he is known to be an avid Titans fan

PLANT MANAGER:
Anyone with a green thumb knows that if you talk or sing to your plants, they will grow better.  But did you know that they hate being touched?  Or at least, most houseplants do.  Generally, they respond to regular touching by slowing their growth or even shriveling up and dying in a phenomenon known as thigmomorphogenesis (***you’re welcome***).  In December, researchers at La Trobe University in Australia took a closer look and found that plants actually respond to a human’s touch the same way they would to an attacking insect:  by sending out toxic chemicals to convince the “predator” that it is not a tasty snack.  This alteration of the plant’s hormone levels and immune system involves a huge expenditure of energy which is taken away from plant growth. If the touching is repeated, growth can be reduced by up to 30 percent.  Funny enough, plants seem to have the same response to being touched by other plants, which scientists think is also a self-defence mechanism to keep them from growing too close together, and not getting enough light and nutrients.  This new research might someday help farmers know exactly how far to space their plants to ensure they grow as big as possible.
(Touching them doesn’t seem to bother my plants…or as my neighbors call them, dandelions…)
(Your plants will be releaved that you are aware of this…)

PLUSH PUPPIES:
From the department of stuff that you “absolutely have to get” comes this:  You can now order custom-made slippers which look just like your pet.  “Cuddle Clones” claims to “capture all of the physical details and personality traits of your pet” in the form of adorable stuffed animals or slippers.  And judging by the photos on their website, the finished product does bear an incredible likeness to the pets on which they are based.  But they don’t come cheap.  A pair of handmade slippers in the image of your “Fi-fi” will cost you $199 U.S. plus shipping.  Also available in the image of your pet: pillows, figurines, fleece blankets and…golf club covers?
LINK:  https://cuddleclones.com/product/plush-slippers/
(The likeness is even more extraordinary if your pet is shaped like a slipper!)
(How convenient.  Slippers and stuffed animals…the two things a dog is most likely to destroy!)
(So now if your dog chews up your slippers, is that cannibalism?)

DAD GENES:
The elusive secret to staying slim has been found.  And you aren’t going to like it. Yes, a good diet and a lot of exercise will certainly help.  But a new study says really, it’s all in your genes. Researchers at Cambridge University went through DNA samples of healthy thin adults, and compared them with DNA samples of obese people and people of average weight.  And guess what?  They found that overweight participants were more likely to have genes linked to obesity, while slim people had fewer of the genes connected with being overweight. One of the professors pointed out that “It’s easy to rush to judgement and criticize people for their weight, but science shows that things are far more complex.”  The next goal for researchers is to find the exact genes that are linked to thinness — with the long-term goal of helping people manage weight-loss.
(Man!  I’m glad I haven’t been wasting my time exercising and stuff!)
(Yup.  Blame your parents.  I am.)
(I took a DNA test…and I failed…)
