★ The news no die-hard “Hamilton” fan – or anyone who hasn’t seen the Broadway smash yet – wants to hear has arrived: Lin-Manuel Miranda, its creator and star, is leaving the show after Saturday night’s performance. Miranda, who has been in the show since it made its debut off-Broadway in early 2015, promises to return “again and again” (whatever that means). Javier Munoz, the current understudy for ‘Alexander Hamilton’, takes over on Monday.
★ ‘Tony Stark’ is leaving behind his ‘Iron Man’ suit and a new hero is soon be stepping in. Marvel has announced that black teenage girl science genius ‘Riri Williams’ will be taking over for ‘Stark’ in the upcoming Invincible “Iron Man” comic book series. The story goes that the new superheroine built her own ‘Iron Man’ suit from scratch in her MIT dorm … at age 15. According to writer Brian Michael Bendis, the fictional character still hasn’t decided on whether she’ll stick with the name ‘Iron Man’. Who should play ‘Riri’ onscreen? How about Rihanna?
★ A statue of Marvel superhero ‘Captain America’ is being erected in a NYC park. The comic book company has commissioned a 13-ft (4-m) bronze statue with the superhero holding his signature shield in the air, to be located in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park. It’s being unveiled at the San Diego Comic Con later this month before being permanently placed in the park on August 10th.

★ And some 2 dozen artists have joined forces to honor the lives of the 49 people killed last month at the Pulse nightclub massacre in Orlando FL. Their new LGBT benefit single, “Hands”, is now available exclusively on iTunes. Among those appearing on the GLAAD-supported all-star release: Adam Lambert, Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani, Jason Derulo, Jennifer Lopez, Kacey Musgraves, Meghan Trainor, P!nk, Selena Gomez, and Ty Herndon – all of whom recorded their parts in different studios around-the-world.

• 80/35 Music Festival (Des Moines IA) – The lineup for the 9th annual event tonight and tomorrow includes The Decemberists, Nas, and reunited indie rockers Wolf Parade.
• “Ellen DeGeneres Show” (syndicated/CTV2) – Today Gary Clark Jr (“The Story of Sonny Boy Slim”). Rerun.
• “Good Morning America” (ABC) – Today Kenny Chesney (“The Big Revival”).
• “Hello World!” (Discovery Channel) – Saturday the debut of a new documentary program in which musical artists are lending their voices via narration and music. The 6-part series about the natural world is a World Wildlife Fund project. Artists taking part: Christina Aguilera, Dave Matthews, Ellie Goulding, Joan Jett, Steven Tyler, and Usher.

• “Marilyn Denis Show” (CTV/CTV2) – Country star Maren Morris performs her breakthrough single “My Church”.
• MLB’s All-Star Weekend (San Diego CA) – All-Star Concerts at Embarcadero Marina Park South feature OneRepublic and Needtobreathe tonight; Gwen Stefani and Tori Kelly w/All Time Low on Saturday. Sunday’s invitation-only All-Star Bash has Fall Out Bay and Akon. The “MLB All-Star Game” airs Tuesday on FOX-TV.
• Ride Festival (Telluride CO) – Pearl Jam is headlining the annual 2-day event Saturday-Sunday. Other acts on the bill include Cage the Elephant, The Sheepdogs, and Temperance Movement.
• “The Talk” (CBS) – Today guest co-host Pete Wentz (Fall Out Boy).
• “Today Show” (NBC) – This morning Shawn Mendes (“Illuminate”, out September 23rd).
• “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” (NBC/CTV2) – Tonight Madonna (“Rebel Heart”). Rerun.
• “Wendy Williams” (syndicated) – Today Royce Da 5’9″ (“Layers”).
• Wimbledon Tennis Championships (London UK) – Select tennis matches are being live-streamed on Twitter. It marks the first time the tech firm has broadcast footage from a sports event. The hi-def streaming is offered in partnership with ESPN.

• Chevelle – Today the veteran rockers release their 8th album, “The North Corridor”, which includes the lead single “Joyride (Omen)”. Chevelle is extensively touring this Summer, primarily playing radio festivals and opening for Bush, beginning July 23rd in Cincinnati OH.
• Chris Stapleton – He’s the warm-up act for the Guns N’ Roses show Saturday night at Nissan Stadium in Nashville TN.
• Disturbed / Breaking Benjamin – Their co-headlining Summer tour kicks off in Syracuse NY on Saturday and winds up August 19th in Concord CA.
• Goo Goo Dolls – Tonight in Portland OR they hit the road with a Summer headlining tour of amphitheaters and arenas. Also on the bill are Collective Soul and Tribe Society. The tour runs through September 16th in Las Vegas NV.
• Mark Chesnutt – The traditional country singer releases his 15th studio album today, “Tradition Lives”. This is his first disc of all-new material since 2010’s “Outlaw”.
• 98 Degrees – Tonight they reunite in Park City KS, where Nick Lachey and his bandmates are joined by O-Town, Ryan Cabrera, and Dream for the 35-date “My2K Tour”.
• Prince – His backing band The Revolution have announced 2 reunion shows at the First Avenue venue in Minneapolis MN. They’re performing at the iconic music club on September 2nd-3rd.

• “Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates” ( R-Rated Comedy ): Zac Efron and Adam Devine play brothers who post an online ad to find dates for a wedding and the ad goes viral. Hoping for a wild getaway, the guys find themselves outsmarted and out-partied by an uncontrollable female duo. Co-stars Anna Kendrick, Aubrey Plaza. Um, Zac Efron is desperate and dateless?
• “The Secret Life of Pets” ( PG Animated Comedy ): A terrier named ‘Max’ regularly invites his friends to hang out at his place while his owner is gone, but his quiet life is upended when said owner also takes in ‘Duke’, a stray mutt whom ‘Max’ instantly dislikes. Voice cast includes Louis CK, Eric Stonestreet, Kevin Hart, Lake Bell. A new “Minions” short film precedes screenings.
• Opening in limited release: “Captain Fantastic” (Drama); “Cell” (Horror Thriller); “Our Little Sister” (Dramedy) ; “Sultan” (Sports Drama); and ” Zero Days” (Documentary).

It’s “Nude Recreation Week”, an annual week-long campaign sponsored by the American Association for Nude Recreation. Last year, AANR challenged clothing-optional resorts to break the skinny-dip world record. And in honor of the Summer Olympic Games in Brazil this year, clothing-optional resorts across the US and Canada are hosting the “AANR Nude Games” this weekend.

Competitive eaters have signed up for an eating contest being billed as “the healthiest in the history of the world” The ‘Kale Yeah!’ championship presented by the Independent Health Foundation’s Healthy Options program takes place Saturday at the Taste of Buffalo food festival in Buffalo NY. 6 renowned local competitors are among those willing to stuff their faces with as much kale as possible in 8 minutes, including World Buffet Eating Champion ‘Crazy Legs’ Conti and World Watermelon Eating Champion ‘Buffalo’ Jim Reeves. They’re among at least 9 who’ve signed up. (The winner gets $2,000 … which, let’s face it, can buy a lot of kale.)
