BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Sony has announced a Ghostbusters festival to coincide with the film’s 35th anniversary. Sony have teamed up with Ghost Corps and Wizard World to throw the two-day event in Culver City, California next year. It’ll take place on June 8-9th at the Sony Pictures Studio Lot in what’s been described as the “ultimate celebration of the film.” Dan Ackroyd and director Ivan Reitman will both be in attendance.
(I just KNOW that somebody’s gonna get slimed!)

★ The last adult member of the Losers Club has been cast. Isaiah Mustafa has signed on to play the adult version of Mike Hanlon in “It: Chapter 2”. Mustafa, who is best known as the ‘Old Spice Guy’, recently wrapped the final season of “Shadowhunters.” He joins a cast for the sequel to the Steven King scary-clown story that already includes Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, Bill Hader, and Jay Ryan, in addition to Bill Skarsgard, who is set to return as Pennywise the Clown.

★ Jackson O’Dell’s family says that, “He will always be a shining light and a brilliant, loving and talented soul.” 20 year-old O’Dell was found unresponsive at a Tarzana, California residence on Friday. He was best known for playing Ari Caldwell on “The Goldbergs”. He also had guest roles on “iCarly”, “Modern Family” and “Arrested Development”. BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Demi Lovato – was forced to cancel her Sunday concert at London’s O2 arena after falling ill. She wrote that she was “very, very sick and with swollen vocal cords.” She also has shows scheduled for tonight, Wednesday and Friday. No word yet on whether or not those dates will need to be canceled as well.
• Taylor Swift – not only co-wrote the new Sugarland single ‘Babe’, she also stars in the video. The “Mad Men”-inspired video sees her portray a red-haired housewife who seduces an unfaithful husband. Train’s Pat Monahan co-wrote the song.
• Eminem – is facing criticism from festival-goers after he caused panic by using “realistic” gunshot sound effects during his Bonnaroo appearance. Following the mass shooting at Las Vegas’ Route 91 Harvest Festival last year, Eminem’s controversial artistic decision has been widely panned online.
• Paul McCartney – staged a surprise return to his hometown on Saturday when he performed at the Philharmonic pub in Liverpool. The appearance very well could have been for a new “Carpool Karaoke” episode, as McCartney and James Corden were also spotted in Penny Lane, at McCartney’s old home and at the Beatles statue. Oh, AND they were spotted in a car together…
• Ozzy Osbourne – says he’s had a “wakeup call” since the death of his friend, Motörhead frontman Lemmy, and now undergoes regular health checks. He also says he works out every day and hasn’t had a drink in five years.
• Chris Stapleton – may have another collaboration with Justin Timberlake to look forward to. Backstage at CMA Fest in Nashville, he said: “We were talking about something earlier today,” but declined to give any more details. The two have already worked together on both ‘Tennessee Whiskey’ and ‘Say Something’, their duet on Timberlake’s current album, “Man of the Woods”.
• Carrie Underwood – her husband, retired NHLer Mike Fisher probably won’t be seeking a career in music anytime soon. He gamely tried to hit the high notes on Underwood’s single, ‘Cry Pretty’ while the two were driving together. She, of course, caught it on video, and posted it to Instagram.

THIS WEEK’S VIDEO RELEASES:

But when he discovers that she is actually an agent hired to protect him, he makes a decision that will drastically change both of their lives. (Ben Kingsley, Hera Hilmar)

BECAUSE ‘GHOSTING’ IS SO 2017:
Here’s the latest disturbing dating trend: ‘Stashing’. It’s when one partner hides their better half from loved ones and doesn’t post about the relationship on social media. “Stashers” are typically people who have commitment issues and are emotionally unavailable. They may also be anxious and insecure, which makes them hesitant to bring their partner around the people who know them best or co- workers who they see on a daily basis. A dating expert says that if this dating situation applies to you, it is best to move on, because this is an unhealthy relationship to be in.
(Hides their partner and doesn’t post about it? That’s not stashing…that’s an affair!)
(And I thought this was going to be about some cool new style of facial hair…)

BAGGAGE CLAIM:
Nobody likes to arrive at the baggage claim after a long flight and have to wait…and wait…and wait until their bags to finally magically appear on the luggage carousel after it seems everyone else has grabbed theirs and already caught their ride home. It turns out that there are a couple sneaky ways to give your suitcase a better chance of coming out first. For starters: pick up a free “fragile” sticker from the airport and slap it on your bag. They say that quite often the fragile tagged luggage goes onto the plane last and as a result, at the destination, it comes onto the belt first. And if you want to double your chances of success, check in last. Doing so can mean your bag is loaded onto the plane last. And that usually means your bag will be unloaded first.
(And with my luck, stolen first…)
(And with my luck, broken first…)
(And with my luck, torn apart by security first…)

LOBSTERS: IN HOT WATER:
If you enjoy lobster, you may not enjoy this: Maine is in the midst of a lobster bonanza, but it might all be about to go bust. They figure that the Gulf of Maine, a place more densely populated with lobsters than anywhere else in the world, is home to about 250 million of them. But a new book warns that Maine’s $1.7 billion lobster industry (which accounts for 80 percent of America’s total lobster harvest) is in jeopardy. Science writer and biologist Christopher White’s book “The Last Lobster: Boom or Bust for Maine’s Greatest Fishery?” points out that the waters in the Gulf area are warming faster than 99.9 percent of the world’s oceans. At first the warmer waters created ideal conditions for lobsters, who have multiplied in the favorable environment, and caused the lobster boom. But as the water continues to warm, all of the positives turn to negatives — and White expects lobsters to either hightail it to colder waters or die off. As he puts it, “The consequence for Maine could be catastrophic.” Last year alone, the state hauled in 111 million pounds of the crustaceans, worth around $434 million.
(And you know what happens if there is a lobster shortage…a butter boom!)
(Well, no sense learning to tear one of those suckers apart NOW!)
(Fishermen knew something was up with the water temperature when they could hear them screaming!)

FOODS THAT AREN’T WORTH THE CALORIES:
✗ Low-fat peanut butter: Peanut butter offers fats that are filling and heart healthy. But when that fat is removed or reduced, extra sugar and other filler ingredients are often added. (Plus, I end up using twice as much!)
✗ Margarine: Many contain partially hydrogenated oil—which contains trans fats, which can heighten your “bad” LDL cholesterol, decrease your beneficial HDL cholesterol, and heighten your risk of heart disease. (Plus there is no easy way to roll your corn-on-the-cob in it!)
✗ Cotton candy: It is 100 percent sugar. A one-ounce serving averages 110 calories and 28 grams of sugar. This melt-in-your-mouth treat may seem “light” but it isn’t, and the effect on your teeth isn’t pretty either. (Plus, it’s hard to eat in the rain…)
✗ Coffee drinks: Some of the emptiest calories you can take in are found in sugary blended coffee drinks, like frappuccinos or caramel macchiatos. These drinks masquerade as a caffeine pick-me-up, but some diet experts say they are more like a dessert. (They cost about as much, too!)
✗ Energy drinks: They are sold as a dietary supplement, which means they aren’t subject to the same safety standards as foods and drinks. And they contain ingredients such as caffeine—which can increase heart rate, trigger anxiety, and lead to upset stomach.
✗ American cheese (processed cheese): It comes in at about 100 calories per ounce and up to 350 mg sodium. It also contains a lot of artificial ingredients. Plus, what do you usually put it on? Unhealthy stuff! (But it’s so melty!)
✗ Processed meat: Full of fat, nitrates, and salt, processed meats such as hot dogs, salami, bacon, and deli meats have been linked to several cancers, earning them a place on the American Cancer Society’s list of foods to limit to reduce cancer risk. (Apparently that’s one more thing that bacon can do!)
✗ Onion Rings: 8 onion rings will run you almost 300 calories, and to burn them off, you would need to walk for 45 minutes. Although they do have some calcium and iron, the high content of sodium and saturated fat offsets any benefits. And dipping them in sauce or gravy can add another 150 calories, plus more fat. (Nothing here about french fries? Good.)
✗ White bread: A standard slice has little nutrition. A slice has about 150 calories and is lower in fiber due to stripped down whole grain. (I’m guessing it doesn’t make it any better if I toast it, does it?)
✗ Donuts: You’re looking at anywhere from 150 to 350 calories. To burn 300 calories you would need to jog for about 30 minutes. And most donuts contain about 12 grams of sugar (about 3 teaspoons) and are also high in saturated fat.
(I’ll stop now before I completely ruin your day!)
