Can You Believe This Sheet?

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Today one of the great rarities of 19th-century literature hits the auction block. A 1st edition of Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland” is being sold by Christie’s in NYC, almost exactly 151 years after it was first printed. The book’s existence is actually quite remarkable as only 2,000 copies were printed in 1865. But the poorly printed originals were ordered returned to be sold as waste paper. Only 23 known copies survive, 18 of which are in public institutions. The copy available today is expected to fetch $2 million-to-$3 million.

★ Larry David’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm” is coming back to HBO for a 9th season after a lengthy hiatus. The previous season of the show aired way back in 2011, and David has shown trepidation about bringing it back … until now. In a statement accompanying the announcement of another season he says: “In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned’.” So far there’s no word on when the new season will launch.
– “E! News”
★ Kevin Hart has been targeted by burglars. The comedian/actor”s Tarzana, California home was broken into over the weekend and law enforcement officials say the thieves got away with $500,000 worth of jewelry, watches, and clothes. Reports suggest the burglars gained access to Hart’s home through a back door while he and his family were out of town. Police are now studying surveillance camera footage inside and outside the home for a lead.

★ And Charlie Sheen’s new gig is … condom spokesman. Sheen’s announcement of his HIV diagnosis led to a huge burst of HIV awareness and now he’s hawking a new product from London-based company Lelo called the ‘Hex’. As the face of the brand, Sheen admits he used to think condoms were no fun, but he’s since learned the dire consequences of not using them. Sheen claims he’s tried the new product. You can’t quite yet, however. Lelo is crowdfunding to launch the ‘Hex’, and so far has less than a thousand of the 10,000 backers it’s looking for.

SUMMER BEAUTY TIPS TO SAVE YOUR SKIN:
✓ Vitamins E & C – Studies show the combination used both orally and/or topically can be an effective form of protection for the skin.
✓ Avoid the midday Sun. The hours between 10 am and 4 pm are when the Sun’s rays are at peak strength. Cover up if you do venture out.
✓ Lip balm with SPF. People forget about sun protection for lips, but they’re made of skin too!
✓ Fake your tan. Instead of lying out, you can use bronzer, sunless tanner, or a spray tan to get that healthy, bronzy glow without skin-damaging rays.
✓ Put a cooled tea bag on a sunburn or sponge on some cooled tea. The tannic acid in black tea extracts heat from sunburned skin while helping to balance pH.
✓ Apply aloe. The sap of aloe vera leaves has been shown to help heal sunburns and other types of mild burns. You can pick up an aloe vera gel from any pharmacy.
✓ Sunscreen! Yes, everyone says it, but there’s really no way to over-stress the point.

BS AMAZING FACT:
If Donald Trump is the one standing at the dais on Inauguration Day in America next year, he’ll do so as the oldest president ever elected. Trump would be 70 years, 7 months old on January 20, 2017. That would put him ahead of the USA’s previous oldest commander-in-chief, Ronald Reagan, who was just a few days shy of his 70th birthday when he took the helm.
