And the next thing you know, I’m out of there!” Other stars, including Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro others, have also made videos encouraging fans not to do any socializing with those outside of their own families.

• Taylor Swift – is urging fans to focus on more important matters than the contents of her phone call with Kanye. She wrote on Insta: “Instead of answering those who are asking how I feel about the video footage that leaked, proving that I was telling the truth the whole time about *that call* (you know, the one that was illegally recorded, that somebody edited and manipulated in order to frame me and put me, my family and fans through hell for 4 years)…The World Health Organization and Feeding America are some of the organizations I’ve been donating to. If you have the ability to, please join me…
• BTS — have launched a weekly web series to teach Korean to their fans. There are 30 sessions available on the app Weverse. The lessons are ”designed to make it easy and fun for global fans who have difficulty enjoying BTS’ music and contents due to the language barrier.”

• Elton John – says he is spending the downtime caused by the coronavirus outbreak to spend time with his two sons – (one of the reasons he decided to embark on a farewell tour, which has been postponed). He says he hopes that the experience of the pandemic will cause people to become less selfish – himself included.
• Kelsea Ballerini — To celebrate the release of her new self-titled album, she delivered pizza by drone to fans stuck inside during the coronavirus outbreak. Fans knew a surprise was coming after receiving an Instagram DM from her, saying that something special was about to arrive.

THE NOSE KNOWS:
Utah Jazz player Rudy Gobert, who’s tested positive for the coronavirus, tweeted last weekend that he wasn’t able to smell anything. Now, a growing number of doctors are saying that for many patients, the first symptom of COVID-19 — even before a cough or fever — could be losing your sense of taste, smell, or both. Some medical professionals are even saying that if you can’t smell the garlic and onions you’re sautéing, you should consider acting as though you have the virus for the purposes of public health. Now, a prominent group of American head and neck doctors has called for the loss of taste and smell to be added to the list of screening criteria for COVID-19. The good news is that, according to a medical professor in Munich, most patients are regaining both their senses of taste and smell after the infection clears up.
(And I thought this mask was the reason that I couldn’t smell anything…)
(But I’ve gotta admit that the longer I’m isolated with two teenage boys, the better this sounds…)
(I’m not sure if my nose still smells, but I’ve heard that my feet do!)

GIMME SHELTER:
With many of us self-isolating these days amid the coronavirus crisis, this could be the perfect time to foster or adopt a pet. One of the main reasons people give for not getting a pet is that they aren’t home enough to give it a good life. Well, VOILA! If you’re home all the time these days, and perhaps struggling with the lack of social interaction, bringing a pet home could make a lot of sense. And it turns out that shelters could especially use your help right now. Many are bracing for an increase in animal intakes amid the pandemic. Add to the fact that they are running on minimal staff, volunteers and donations these days, and your caring for a furry friend could help everyone win: The pet, the shelter, and you, when you reap the mental health benefits of having a companion animal during these stressful times. And if you are unable to foster or adopt an animal, consider making a donation of money, time or supplies over the coming weeks.
(And if you’re telecommuting these days, it won’t matter if you show up for work covered in hair!)
(I would, but with my addictive personality…)
(Let’s face it, ANY time is a good time to provide a home for a pet…)

HIKE MOUNT WASHINGTON THIS SPRING, AND FALL:
Just to give you a little break from all the bad news going around about the pandemic, here’s a little good news. Kinda. A New Hampshire woman was rescued with the help of a railway train after surviving a 200-foot fall while descending Mount Washington. 35-year-old Ashley Furness had been hiking with a companion at the site of the highest peak in the Northeastern United States when she slipped and fell. She struck several rocks, preventing her from falling into a ravine, which is thought to have saved her life. Her companion was able to summon emergency workers, who maneuvered a snowmobile and all-terrain vehicle as close as they could, before being forced to hike the rest of the way to reach Ms. Furness. She was badly hurt and unable to walk (that’s the bad news), so the Cog Railway was directed to get a train ready for her rescue. In the meantime, with temperatures plummeting, “ropes a litter and other essential gear” was utilized to get her from the side of the ravine up to the tracks. The train arrived about 6½ hours after the incident, which took her to a waiting ambulance about two miles down the mountain.
(And now she can officially call herself a ‘trained’ mountain climber!)
(While she is expected to recover physically, when it comes to that mountain, she’ll probably never get over it…)
(So much for ‘Physical distancing’!)

DID YOU KNOW?
Satellite imagery from the European space agency shows that the coronavirus pandemic is shutting down industrial activity and temporarily slashing air pollution levels around the world. Paul Monks, professor of air pollution at the University of Leicester, predicts there will be important lessons to learn. He says, “We are now, inadvertently, conducting the largest-scale experiment ever seen” which shows us “what we might see in the future if we can move to a low-carbon economy.” Monks said: Not to denigrate the loss of life, but this might give us some hope from something terrible. To see what can be achieved.”

TODAY’S SCOOP OF BS:
➠ Porn Star Lola Taylor says she’ll have sex with the first scientist to create a vaccine for COVID-19. (This will definitely be one of those times when a scientist MUST keep the mask, goggles, gloves and lab coat on!)

➠ I just read a woman from Santa Fe once stabbed her boyfriend repeatedly after she caught him cheating at Monopoly. (If I had a dollar for every time a person fought over a game of Monopoly, I could put a hotel on all my properties!)
➠ I just read that tiny mites are having sex in our eyebrows.  (I told my wife about this, but since she drew on her eyebrows too high, I can’t tell if she’s actually surprised or not)
