Sweet Sheet!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Gwyneth Paltrow is not happy with her ex-husband Chris Martin. It has been a few years since their famous “uncoupling” and the Coldplay singer is finally opening up about what led to the end of their marriage. In the documentary “Coldplay: A Head Full Of Dreams”, Martin says that his self-esteem took a big hit and things were “touch and go” once the divorce was final. An insider has been quoted as saying that she “was furious that he took their separation to such a dark place in the documentary, as it goes against everything she’d said previously.”
-CelebrityInsider
★ Roseanne Barr is denying claims that she suffered a heart attack. She tweeted “I’m fine” early Sunday after tweets claiming she had a medical emergency went viral. In a photo accompanying her tweet, Barr can be seen standing tall in a living room while wearing a t-shirt designed to look like a corset. The rumors spread on Twitter after a radio host’s live Periscope video was interrupted by a call from a man identifying himself as Barr’s assistant, seemingly informing him about the alleged heart attack.

★ Alec Baldwin was arraigned in court and officially hit with two charges on Monday. Baldwin was charged with attempted assault in the 3rd degree, a misdemeanor, and harassment in the 2nd degree, a violation. He was present in court to hear the charges, but did not enter a plea on his behalf. Baldwin was released on his own recognizance and given a court date for next year. He was arrested on November 2nd after an alleged fight over a parking space outside his luxury apartment building in New York.

★ Al Pacino will star as King Lear in a new film adaptation of Shakespeare’s play. Reports are that the movie will be directed by Michael Radford, who worked with Pacino in 2004’s “The Merchant of Venice”. King Lear is the story of a once-great monarch who descends into madness.

★ Mark Wahlberg, who starred with Will Ferrell in “Daddy’s Home” and “The Other Guys,” has revealed that he and the former “SNL” star have, as he put it, “another movie in the cooker that could be great for the holidays next year.” Wahlberg also said he’d like to get Ferrell, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Kevin Hart together for a film. BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Ariana Grande – has called on her Twitter followers to be more ”compassionate and gentle with one another”.  She posted that she doesn’t ”like this world a lot of the time” and that she’s disgusted by some of the things she reads on the site.
• Rihanna — Attendees of Donald Glover’s PHAROS Festival in New Zealand got a sneak peek of his secret upcoming film project with her over the weekend.  Footage of the mysterious movie — reportedly titled “Guava Island” — was posted on Twitter Saturday by what appears to be a PHAROS attendee.  In the film, Rihanna plays the girlfriend of Glover (Childish Gambino)’s character.
• Mumford & Sons – their new album “Delta” has debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart.  First-week sales were helped by a concert ticket/album offer in conjunction with the group’s upcoming U.S. tour.
• Madonna — Montreal street artist MissMe has sold one of her works, a self-portrait from her series “Portrait of a Vandal,” to Madonna. The singer posted a photo of the six-foot high canvas to her Instagram account.  It depicts the artist in her trademark Mickey Mouse-eared balaclava, lifting her shirt to expose her naked body.
• Queen — Guitarist Brian May says that Rami Malek deserves an Academy Award nomination for his depiction of Freddie Mercury in “Bohemian Rhapsody”. Quote: “He’s incredible.  Without doubt he’ll be on the nominations list for an Oscar, and well deserved as well. He inhabited Freddie to the point where we even started to think of him as Freddie. Really remarkable.”
• Guns N’ Roses — are streaming a live performance video of their 1988 hit, ‘Patience’, that was captured during a November 17 concert in Taipei, Taiwan. The first song of the group’s encore was a No. 4 hit on the US Billboard Hot 100 back in the day, helping push “GN’R Lies” to sales of more than 5 million in the country.
• Granger Smith – His self-produced “They Were There: A Hero’s Documentary”, which tells the story of five fallen soldiers, can be viewed on his YouTube channel beginning Friday.  He says producing the documentary has made him feel guilty that he gets to travel the world playing country music for a living when there are others who have “volunteered for a much nobler cause.”
• Devin Dawson – told an audience that his new song ‘I’ve Got a Truck’ was inspired by Tim McGraw.  The two toured together in the summer and Dawson says: “Tim was telling me how he got started, and he was telling me how at the beginning, all he had was a song and a truck.  I asked him if he had written a song about that, and he said he hadn’t. So, I smoked a huge joint in the back of the bus and wrote this song.”

WEIGHT FOR IT:
There are lots of benefits of being in a stable relationship.  There is, however, also a big drawback.  Researchers have found that couples who truly love each other have higher odds of gaining weight than those who are single.  That’s right…couples who are in love tend to grow fat.  One study found an average weight gain among those in a close relationship of 5kg (11 lbs).  Why does this happen?  Scientists are still working on that, but they have a few ideas:  Some people easily adapt their partner’s way of life (including eating and [lack of] exercising).  And couples tend to make extra efforts to cook large meals together or go out to restaurants more often than those who aren’t in a relationship.  There is also the theory that weight gain among those who are in love can be brought on by the relaxed feeling that one gets from being in a secure relationship.  As we feel safe and secure, those relaxed feelings can bring on an increased appetite.
(Or maybe she’s just a REALLY good cook!)
(And it is so nice to have a special someone to ditch the gym with and go grab Cinnabon…)
(Man!  Bad time of the year to be in love!  Not only am I getting fat, but I have to find a really good Christmas gift!)

SOME THE HEALTHIEST FOODS YOU CAN EAT (And probably some that you just CAN’T eat…):
➠ Mushrooms:  full of nutritional benefits, and a great stand-in for meat in vegetarian dishes.  Mushrooms are the only plant source of vitamin D, and some are thought to fight cancer and boost immune systems.
➠ Whole-Grain Pasta:  Much more fiber and nutrients (like iron and protein) than the traditional semolina type. Make sure you look for packages labeled “whole-grain” rather than “multigrain”
➠ Walnuts:  An excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, which help lower bad cholesterol (LDL) and raise the good cholesterol (HDL).  Walnuts also contain antioxidants — which can help protect against free radical damage — as well as protein and fiber.
➠ Quinoa:  Technically a seed, but it cooks up and eats like a grain. It’s a complete protein (containing all 9 essential amino acids), and an excellent ingredient to use in vegetarian dishes. (Good luck pronouncing it, though…)
➠ Salmon:  chock full of omega-3 fatty acids, which, among other things, can keep your skin healthy and glowing and give your mood a positive boost. Wild-caught salmon contain fewer toxins and aren’t fed grains or any other items that aren’t traditionally a part of a fish’s diet.
➠ Greek-Style Yogurt:  It’s full of the probiotic bacteria that promote good digestive health and it has more protein than other yogurt varieties.
➠ Eggs:  A recent study showed that eating whole eggs actually seemed to increase the level of good (HDL) cholesterol in the body. Additionally, eggs (and egg yolks specifically) are one of the best food sources of the B-complex vitamin choline, which is thought to reduce inflammation and improve neurological development and function.
➠ Sweet Potatoes:  Packed full of beta-carotene, which helps protect against cancer and heart disease, as well as reduce inflammation.  It can also help manage and stabilize blood sugar levels.
➠ Oranges:  Best known as a good source of vitamin C, oranges are a go-to food when your immune system needs a little boost. They are also thought to stimulate collagen production (a reason it pops up in so many skin creams and products), so eating lots of oranges could help keep your skin looking smooth and supple, too.
➠ Pumpkin:  Pumpkin contains about double your daily requirement of vitamin A, as well as carotenoids like beta-carotene, which help protect your eyes, and which may also have a role in reducing cancer risk. (What’s with all these orange foods?)
