Ahhhh, It’s Your Daily Constitutional Sheet!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Sean Spicer waved goodbye to “Dancing With the Stars” Monday night, but ABC waved hello to a pretty big bump in the show’s ratings. Monday night’s episode scored 7.2 million total viewers, up roughly 25% from last week’s 6.2 million. The former White House press secretary’s elimination helped lift the dancing competition show to its highest rating and total viewership since its season premiere back in September.

★ Stan Lee’s daughter is suing his former personal assistant for $25 million. Joan Celia Lee says Bradley Herman appeared on a podcast shortly after her father passed away in November 2018 and accused her of grabbing her dad by the neck and slamming his head into a chair. She insists the comments were totally false. Lee also claims Bradley stole from Stan and regularly forged his signature on loans before he was fired. Alan Duke, the host of the podcast, is also being sued over the claims.

★ More than seven months after Paramount Pictures unveiled the first trailer for the upcoming live-action “Sonic the Hedgehog” film, a second trailer has been released with a newly redesigned main character. The initial CGI rendering of Sega’s much-beloved video game character was met with widespread criticism and called “creepy,” among other insults. However, the new trailer released this week gave Sonic a complete makeover. In May, after an onslaught of negative response, director Jeff Fowler vowed to change the design of Sonic — only six months before the film was scheduled to be released worldwide.

★ Is “Days of Our Lives” canceled? Although NBC has not yet made an announcement regarding long-running soap opera’s fate, a report potentially signaled a future cancellation after news broke that that the entire cast had been released from their contracts and the soap opera was set to go “on an indefinite hiatus at month’s end.” Shooting eight months in advance, the soap opera will have enough episodes by the time it stops production late this month to air episodes through the summer of 2020. Days of Our Lives has been a fixture on TV since 1965.

BS MUSIC NEWS:
• Kanye West — may have his biggest audience yet for a Sunday Service. He will appear this Sunday at Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church in Houston. He’ll reportedly take the pulpit and talk to Osteen during the morning, and perform with his traveling choir during the nighttime service. Osteen has 10 million TV viewers in the US alone.
• Adele – Mel C says the Spice Girls rejected an opportunity to sing with Adele at the final show of their reunion tour at Wembley Stadium in June, for fear she’d upstage their vocals. As Sporty Spice put it: “We said no because, who wants to sing with Adele?”
• Shakira – is talking about the trauma of losing her voice. She suffered a hemorrhage of her right vocal cord in 2017, and now says the experience of not being able to sing was “unbearable.” She says she ignored her doctor’s advice to have surgery, opting for hypnosis, meditation, and even holy water. She says, eventually, she naturally rediscovered her singing voice.
• E.L.O. — Jeff Lynne says he is enjoying the resurgence of Electric Light Orchestra so much that he plans to tour again. Quote: “It was a 30-year break from touring. I certainly want to do another tour…but the album (2019’s From Out of Nowhere) has been so well received, I’m amazed.”
• Black Crowes — Rich Robinson says the famously battling brothers in Oasis were surprised by the depth of anger between he and his Crowes brother Chris in their heyday. The two groups toured together in 2001 during the ironically named “Tour of Brotherly Love”. Rich says: “We freaked them out. They were like, ‘Whoa, that was even intense for us.’”
• The Monkees — are returning to the road for a three-week tour called “An Evening With the Monkees”, beginning April 3 in Vancouver. It will feature surviving members Micky Dolenz and Michael Nesmith and will spotlight songs from their entire career.
• Reba McEntire — has announced 12 US headlining tour dates beginning March 20 in Evansville IN. This follows the recent news that she will be launching a podcast for Spotify in 2020. She still has several Vegas dates with Brooks & Dunn scheduled for December.
• Brett Young — says his new baby daughter Presley Elizabeth has made him a more protective person. Quote: “I’m a super emotional guy, and you can hear that in my songwriting. But this ‘I will protect you’ thing has kicked in. It’s like, ‘I love you, you’re cute. But also, I bought more bolts for the front door.’ You know, ‘I’m shopping for a shotgun. Don’t worry; I got you.'”

’SNO PROBLEM:
With snow and cold temperatures already a part of life these days for many, it leads to a seemingly logical step before heading out on that morning commute: Warming up the car. But some transport experts, including police, are discouraging drivers from this tactic, especially if they’re not in the car. York Regional Police in Ontario tweeted last week about a “warm-up theft” after a car owner had their vehicle stolen from their own driveway. Police suggest if you aren’t going to be present, you should have a second set of keys, and lock your car while it is idling. A rep from CAA (Canadian Automobile Association) points out that warming up a car for more than 30 seconds is an outdated practice anyway. Most vehicles manufactured within the last decade heat up more efficiently while they’re being driven.  Just be sure to clear off the snow and ensure your windows aren’t fogged up. And drive gently for the first while until things start to heat up. Not only will you get to your destination sooner if you don’t spend an extra 10 minutes in the driveway, you’ll also save fuel.
(On a morning like today, I’m much more concerned about warming up my FEET!)
(But warming up my car and clearing the snow is the specific reason that I had teenagers!)
(Also, you won’t have to listen to [***Name of show***] for as long!)

TRICKY TREATS:
In what must be one of the most important and shocking polls in the history of poll-taking, a survey has determined that 59% of Americans have hidden candy at some point in their lives. What’s even more surprising is that respondents reported that they were most likely to hide sweet stuff from their significant other (52%) and from their children (51%). The survey of 2,000 Americans also revealed the unexpected news that the top reason that people hide candy from loved ones is because they are worried that it’ll be eaten before respondents have a chance to enjoy the sweets themselves.
More from this ground-breaking study:

SECRETS YOUR HAIRSTYLIST WON’T TELL YOU:
⇒ She hates the phrase “Do whatever you want”:  9 times out of 10, what she wants to do isn’t what you wanted. (She also hates: “I’m pretty easy to work with.”)
⇒ They keep notes on you:  She may note that you don’t tip well or that you talk loudly about how drunk you were last night. She might also write that you’re going through a divorce or that you’re into tennis so she has conversation points for next time. (She won’t write that I like tennis!)
⇒ He knows you’re going to be late:  If you’ve been tardy a few times, he asks the receptionist to tell you that your appointment is 30 minutes earlier than it actually is.
⇒ I’m not a psychologist:  Hairdressing school does not teach about therapy, negative reinforcement, or personality disorders. (For that, you need to talk to your bartender!)
⇒ A trim is not “just a trim”:  It still requires expertise, skill, knowledge and time.  (And when I try to cut my kids’ hair, you DEFINITELY can’t call it a trim!)
⇒ Don’t make your first appointment there on a Saturday:  That’s the busiest day of the week, and you won’t be given the time and attention you deserve. (That explains a lot about my current bad-hair month…)

DID YOU KNOW?
Generation Z (22 and younger) is more likely than any other age group to hit the malls for the holidays. A study found that age group to be less likely than Generation X and millennials to shop online. Why? A lack of credit cards and funds, and their view of the mall as a social and entertainment spot. The study surveyed almost 35-hundred consumers and found about a third of Z-ers plan to start shopping Black Friday …the largest turnout of any generation… Although as a group they will spend the least.
