Sheet Happens!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Actor, director and producer Jay Baruchel is taking a hard right to join the cast of Letterkenny. The Montreal native, known for the ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ films as well as the ‘Goon’ movies and the TV series ‘Man Seeking Woman’, will play Hard Right Jay, described as “a tiki torch-carrying out-of-towner who stirs things up in Letterkenny.”
-MSN
★ Kristen Bell is recruiting former theater kids to star in a brand new TV show.  It’s like ‘High School Musical’…20 years later.  Each classmate on the show will return to the role they originally played, and will be trained by professional Broadway directors, choreographers, and vocal coaches.  Kristen Bell, who, by the way, was Dorothy in her high school production of ‘The Wizard of Oz’, is executive producing and appearing in the show.  ‘Encore’ will air on December 10 on ABC.
-Cosmopolitan
★ Tennis champion Serena Williams and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian welcomed their first child together on September 1, and now they’re making things official. The pair are getting married this weekend in New Orleans, and their guest list is the very definition of ‘lit’.  According to reports, not only will Beyoncé and Jay Z be there, Kardashian momager Kris Jenner will be in attendance, as will (potentially) actress Meghan Markle, who is close friends with Serena.
-Cosmopolitan
★ Anyone who watches TV knows that Jim Halpert and Pam Beesly from ‘The Office’ are the embodiment of #RelationshipGoals. But the chemistry between the actors who played them, John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer was completely real.  In her new book ‘The Actor’s Life: A Survival Guide’, Fischer describes how the undeniable chemistry between her and Krasinski translated to their on-screen relationship during the show’s nine-season run.
-Cosmopolitan
★ Earlier this year, Gary Barlow revealed that he had shot a scene for ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’. Being that he plays a Stormtrooper, fans won’t really know when he’s on screen, but now it’s being claimed that he will be starring alongside Tom Hardy, Prince William and Prince Harry. ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ hits movie theaters on December 15.
(That’s a heckuva cast!)

★ It seems not even Spider-Man is immune to the odd nasty injury. Tom Holland has broken his nose on a movie set for the third time, and while it is as yet unclear as to what movie it was, it’s safe to say that maybe Holland should rethink doing his own stunts. The 21-year-old revealed to his social media followers that he managed to bust his nose yet again, with people debating about whether it was on the set of the recently wrapped ‘Avengers 4’ or sci-fi feature ‘Chaos Walking’. His last broken nose occurred in August.
(Is that my Spidey-sense that’s tingling, or my broken schnoz?)

★ Kim Kardashian made $10 million in just ONE DAY of selling perfume worldwide … and incredibly not even a single customer got a whiff yet. Kim’s fragrance hit the online world Wednesday morning. Customers got to choose between 3 fragrances — Crystal Gardenia, Crystal Gardenia Oud and Crystal Gardenia Citrus. Only 300,000 bottles were produced and they were expected to completely sell out by Thursday night.

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Nicki Minaj – is coming for Kim Kardashian’s throne in an attempt to “break the internet”   with a risqué photoshoot.  Minaj is gracing the winter edition cover of ‘Paper Magazine’, in a racy shot with her ample self multiplied into three different poses. The aptly titled edition is called “Minaj À Trois” and promises to “Break the Internet,” a phrase the magazine hasn’t used since Kardashian’s infamous champagne cover in 2014.
• Pink – her first heartbreak was all Bon Jovi’s fault.  She appeared on James Corden’s ‘Carpool Karaoke’ and told of hearing the news at age 7 or 8 that Jon Bon Jovi had gotten married.  She ripped his posters off her wall and says she didn’t come out of her room for days.  She also claimed that she sings better upside down.
• Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez – are officially back together and seem to be moving very fast! They are reportedly in the market to find the perfect love nest for their rekindled romance. They were first spotted together again about a month ago.
• Jimmy Buffett & the Eagles – could be getting together for a series of joint dates in 2018. Encouraged by the response to the band’s few shows last year, plans are in the works for a limited run of dates together.  Buffett has credited the Eagles with helping launch his career with an opening slot on the Eagles’ 1976 tour.
• Eagles – Glenn Frey’s will is nowhere to be found, but his widow is trying to get the court to approve the copy she has, even though it’s not the original.  Cynthia Frey says that a financial management company was in possession of Frey’s will when he died in 2016.  She claims after his death, she switched financial management companies and the new one has not yet been able to locate Frey’s will among the documents they received in the switch.  (Love WILL Keep Us Alive??)
• Steely Dan – guitarist Walter Becker’s widow Delia has released a statement to let fans know that Becker died of an “extremely aggressive form of esophageal cancer” in September.  Up until now, no cause of death had been released.
• Aerosmith – Steven Tyler says he doesn’t believe former wrestler Ric Flair’s claim that he has bedded 10,000 women.  But just in case, Tyler says that “I got him so beat.”
• Guns N’ Roses – Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl joined them onstage for ‘Paradise City’, the closing song of their set on Tuesday in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
• Carrie Underwood – is ”doing great” after having surgery on her wrist following a fall. She broke her wrist when she fell hard on some steps outside her house.  According to her Twitter update, she “Had surgery on my wrist …& all went well … even though I’ll be setting off airport metal detectors from now on”.
• Luke Bryan – has revealed a new slew of stars for ‘Crash My Playa 2018′.  Previously announced headliners Blake Shelton and Sam Hunt will be joined by Maren Morris, Dustin Lynch and Brett Young.  Bryan’s annual all-inclusive festival vacation descends on Mexico’s Riviera Maya over the Jan. 17-20 weekend.
• The Steeldrivers – Bill Murray has done it again.  At their Charleston, South Carolina concert last week, Murray bought up the remaining tickets to the show and handed them out to fans waiting in line to purchase seats.

CHANGE OF PLANS THIS WEEKEND:
What’s on the schedule for the weekend?  You’ll fit in some time for reading a book if you know what’s good for you.  Literally.  A Yale University study showed that those who read for 3.5 hours per week live on average 2 years longer than those who don’t.  Researchers tracked 3,600 people over the age of 50 for 12 years, and found that the readers consistently lived longer than non-readers, regardless of gender, wealth or education.  And it seems that reading books has a more dramatic effect on lifespan than either magazines or newspapers.  So find some time this weekend to read a book!
(Yeah, but then I gotta read a book!)
(They probably spent that extra 2 years of their lives reading, didn’t they?)
(What if I go see a movie based on a book?)

HEAVILY ARMED:
Spanx now caters to the “I’ve got a thing about my arms” crowd.  Spanx, the American underwear maker which focuses on shaping briefs and leggings to make women appear thinner, announced this Fall that they are selling ‘arm tights’ — or Spanx for arms, as the internet has so dubbed them.  Before you get too excited, these ‘arm tights’ are not shapewear, per se, but more of a layering piece intended to transition your sleeveless summer wardrobe pieces into fall, much like actual tights.  The arm tights are essentially skintight crop tops made entirely of hosiery, available in numerous colors from black to neon pink, and several textures (including cable knit, shimmery and sheer varieties).  They are selling for about U.S. $30-$34. Unlike traditional layering tops, the nylon and spandex sleeves are completely seamless.  Spanx founder Sara Blakely says that the new product is “a solution that will smooth and flatter your arms and feel super luxe on the skin too.”
(In case your other sleeves weren’t already constricting you enough!)
(Guys: Don’t even THINK of picking something like this up as a Christmas present!)
(Do they have any for men with the opposite effect?)
