Sweet Sheet!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ David Cassidy’s daughter Katie has broken her silence following her father’s passing.  In a tweet, she said that “Words cant express the solace our family’s received from all the love & support during this trying time”.  She also shared David Cassidy’s final words, writing that:  “My father’s last words were ‘So much wasted time’. This will be a daily reminder for me to share my gratitude with those I love as to never waste another minute”
-TheBlast
★ Jennifer Lawrence says she wants to take a break from making movies to milk goats.  She made the bizarre announcement recently when speaking of her desire to go on hiatus from acting for awhile.  After making about three movies per year for the past while, Lawrence says she wants to “get a farm” and “be, like, milking goats.” We aren’t sure if she means that literally or figuratively.
(So she is done milking ‘The Hunger Games’ for a while?)
-CelebrityInsider
★ Dwayne Johnson’s family was so poor they once couldn’t eat on Thanksgiving.  He shared a photo of himself with his family on Friday, and revealed what he was thankful for on the U.S. holiday. “There was a time back in ‘87 when we couldn’t even afford Thanksgiving dinner and was praying someone would invite us over their house to eat. We were in a tough spot back then, but we got thru it. And here we are today. One big, extended, blended, slightly crazy, loving, grateful ohana (that’s a Hawaiian word for family).”
-Jam.Canoe
★ Willow Smith says fame is ”absolutely terrible”. The 17-year-old singer – who is the daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith – says that living life in the spotlight is not as great as it seems, and the worst part is that she can’t ”change her parents or change [her] face” and go unnoticed.
(Really?  Name one person in Hollywood who hasn’t “changed their face”??!!)

• Ed Sheeran – has been named godfather to James Blunt’s son.  Blunt and his wife Sofia Wellesley welcomed their first child last year.  Carrie Fisher was named godmother before her death.  The youngster’s name has not been announced.
• Demi Lovato – is among the stars being sued by singer Jaime Ciero, who claims the hit tune ‘Let It Go’ from the movie “Frozen” copied his track ‘Volar’. Lovato recorded the song as a single following the release of the 2013 animated movie.  Ciero is also suing Idina Menzel, who performed the tune in the film and on its soundtrack.
• Mariah Carey – has cancelled three more days of her ‘All I Want For Christmas Is you World Tour’ to recover from her respiratory infection. She plans to be back on stage on Saturday in New York.
• Miley Cyrus – has hit back at rumors she’s pregnant, insisting her rounded stomach was the result of too much Thanksgiving food.   After being alerted to the speculation, she was quick to shoot it down on Twitter, posting a picture with a giant giant red arrow pointing to her stomach, and the caption: “RUDE!!! Not pregnant just eating a (s***)-ton of tofurkey.”
• Jay-Z – released three new videos from his album 4:44 on Tidal on Friday, including ‘Smile’, which tells the story of his mom Gloria Carter as a closeted lesbian.  The eight minute film shows a young Shawn Carter being raised by his single mom in the Brooklyn projects.
• Rolling Stones – have dislodged U2 as the top-grossing 2017 concert act on a ‘per-show’ basis, according to Pollstar.  The Stones notched an average gross of over $10.2 million per event and an average of 62,945 tickets sold over 11 cities. U2 came in at No. 2, earning $9.15 million from 21 cities reported, with Coldplay ($6 million), Metallica ($3.9 million) and Guns N’ Roses ($3.8 million) filling out the top five.
• Kurt Cobain – Courtney Love is set to appear in court to regain his guitar for her daughter. Love has been asked by Frances Bean Cobain for help in a legal battle against her estranged husband, Isaiah Silva, to regain the Martin D-18E guitar that belonged to Cobain.
• Uncle Si Robertson  – the ‘Duck Dynasty’ star will release an EP with his band ‘Uncle Si & the Sicotics’ on Dec. 15.  The disc is a mixture of country, hip hop, rock and Southern gospel. (Thanks for the warning!)
• Kip Moore – has released a 33-minute documentary on Vevo called ‘The Journey to Slowheart’.  In it, he gives a tour of the places that have directly impacted his life and his songs. It is being used to promote his latest album ‘Slowheart’.

‘TIS THE SPENDING SEASON:
With today being Cyber Monday, many people will trudge back into the office with their belt buckle loosened a notch or two, maybe with a hangover from a long weekend of indulgence, and with the knowledge that they waste WAY too many hours watching football.  So once you manage to drag your sorry self into the office, why work?  The Cyber Monday tradition calls for you to spend a large amount of time on your office computer shopping for those Black Friday deals that you just weren’t able to score on Friday.  But don’t worry if you find that your schedule calls for you to actually accomplish something at work today and you aren’t able to find sufficient time to properly accomplish your shopping goals.  Indications are that much like Black Friday, which started as a one-day event, and has since expanded to last for a week or more, a lot of major retailers are extending the traditional Cyber Monday into ‘Cyber Monday to Friday’ or longer.  And while technology deals usually take center-stage on Black Friday, today’s best deals might also include clothing, shoes and beauty products.
(And antacid, I hope?)
(I just think that it is really nice of all these retailers to extend their sales so there is no fear that I won’t have to opportunity this Holiday Season to spend every last dollar that I’ll make between now and the end of eternity!)

PRETTY FLY FOR A WHITE BREAD:
Does the thought of eating bread made with insects bug you?  One of Finland’s largest food companies is selling what it claims to be a first: insect bread.  Markus Hellstrom, who is the head of the Fazer group’s bakery division, says that one loaf of their new bread contains about 70 dried, farm-raised house crickets.  You don’t have to worry about finding yourself chewing on a leg or an antennae, though.  The insects are ground into a fine powder and mixed into the flour.
The U.N.’s Food and Agricultural Organization has promoted insects as a source of human food, saying they are healthy and high in protein and minerals.  Laws in Finland were changed earlier this month to allow the sale of insects as food.
(Does it come with a toothpick?)
(And if a fly lands on your loaf, do you shoo it away, or just smush it in with a flyswatter?)
(Which is expected to pretty much put an end to the ‘black-fly’ market!)

DON’T IT MAKE MY BROWN EYES BLUE:
Blue eyes have always been a measure of attractiveness.  And while it seems that a lot of the ‘rich and famous’ sport baby blues, stats show that only 17% of the general population have them.  But that could change with the introduction of a new medical procedure.  The California company  Stroma Medical say that they can turn your brown eyes blue.  The 20-second laser procedure works by eliminating the melanin – the pigment that also colors hair and skin – from the surface of the iris.  This allows light to enter and then scatter, which gives eyes their blue appearance.
(OK, can they do anything about my RED eyes?)
(And if anything goes wrong, at least you have another….)

DINNER MUSIC:
Oxford University professor Charles Spence has been working to prove the theory that sound can enhance the taste of food.  He conducted an experiment where 700 participants listened to songs from six different genres of music while eating different takeout meals. They were then asked to rate the food on a scale of one to ten. Here is what he found:
➢ Chinese Food – pairs well with pop music.  Specifically, Taylor Swift’s ‘Blank Space’ and Ed Sheeran’s ‘Sing’ – were found to correspond with higher ratings for Chinese food.
➢ Pasta – works well for lovers of opera and classical music.
➢ Indian Food – rocks for lovers of classic rock like Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Dancing in the Dark’ and Guns N’ Roses’ ‘Sweet Child of Mine’.
➢ Sushi – goes best with jazzy tunes like those from Nina Simone and Frank Sinatra.
Oh, and if you like R&B or hip-hop?  Bad news.  Both genres were shown to have no effect on the enjoyment of any of the foods tested at all.
(And pizza?  Do I have to tell you that pizza goes with ANYTHING?)
(And as Ozzy Osbourne has shown us, heavy metal goes well with bat head…)
(Keep your “Country goes with squirrel” comments to yourself…)

BS REASONS TO PARTY . . .
• “Cyber Monday”, the online version of “Black Friday”, when Internet retailers offer special deals and deep discounts in an attempt to jumpstart the holiday shopping season.
BS REASONS “CYBER MONDAY” IS BETTER THAN “BLACK FRIDAY”:
5. No crowds … therefore less assaults and pepper-spraying.
4. Some online deals started in early November.
3. No sappy Christmas music.
2. Getting gifts in the mail is awesome … even if they’re for someone else.
1. Naked shopping.

• “Bavarian Cream Pie Day”, an annual salute to the delicious, chilled dessert made with cooked egg custard layered with whipped cream and toppings in a pie shell.

• “Pie in the Face Day”,  rather than Bavarian, can I opt for pumpkin instead?  After all, it IS the holidays!

• “National Electric Guitar Day”, it’s also, not-so-coincidentally, Jimi Hendrix’s birthday (1942).

• “Pins and Needles Day”, might refer to that tingling feeling you get after sitting or lying in an awkward position – but I see it as Christmas decorating.  We have pine needles and metal pins all over the house now – and I won’t be able to walk around barefoot until probably February.

AND REMEMBER . . .
[Tues] National French Toast Day
[Tues] Giving Tuesday
[Wed] Customer is Wrong Day
[Wed] Throw Out Your Leftovers Day
This Month Is…Sweet Potato Awareness Month

TODAY’S MUSIC EVENTS . . .

2005 [12] Aerosmith and 50 Cent headline a $10-million bar mitzvah in NYC

TODAY’S FIRST . . .
2005 [12] 1st partial human face transplant is completed in Amiens, France (is ‘completed’ the correct word when it’s a ‘partial’ face transplant?)

TODAY’S RECORD . . .
1966 [51] Highest-scoring NFL game (113 points: Washington Redskins 72, NY Giants 41)
