Another Sheetload of Bull!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Rance Howard, an actor and father to Ron and Clint Howard, died on Saturday at the age of 89.  Ron Howard made the announcement on Twitter, writing, “Clint & I have been blessed to be Rance Howard’s sons”.  The elder Howard had roles in films like “Chinatown,” “Ed Wood,” and “Independence Day.”  He also appeared in a number of movies directed by his son Ron, including “A Beautiful Mind,” “Apollo 13,” “Parenthood,” and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”

★ Susan Sarandon has hinted that more sexual predators in Hollywood are yet to be revealed in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal. Sarandon says that a women she knows who has already come forward about an abuser was also ‘drugged and assaulted’ by a different industry person, but is ‘too worn out’ to speak up again.

★ In a letter to ‘House of Cards’ cast and crew members, Media Rights Capital announced that it is extending the production hiatus on the sixth season of the Netflix series.  Production was initially suspended on the political drama amid accusations of sexual misconduct against star and executive producer Kevin Spacey.  The Nov. 26 letter extends the previously announced hiatus by two weeks, and says there will be an update on Dec. 8.  Netflix has already announced plans to dump Kevin Spacey from season 6 of the show.

★ Nicole Richie will use her own drug addiction as a ”tool” to warn her children.  Richie, who was arrested in 2003 for possession of heroin, has been in rehab, and was briefly jailed in 2007 for driving under the influence, says she will speak frankly with nine year-old Harlow and eight year-old Sparrow when they are older, so they understand the pitfalls of substance abuse.
(Do as I say…not as I do?)

★ Naya Rivera has been arrested for domestic battery.  Rivera was arrested Saturday night at a home in Chesapeake, West Virginia after her husband Ryan Dorsey told cops that the former ‘Glee’ star hit him in the head and the lip while out on a walk with their two-year-old son.  According to reports, he did not need medical attention for his injuries.

★ Charles Manson’s grin is going to Vegas, and will be on full display at the Haunted Museum.   Zak Bagans, stars of the Travel Channel’s “Ghost Adventures,” bought a bunch of Manson’s personal items after Manson died, including a set of his dentures.  Bagans says the teeth were stolen from the shower by an inmate in 2010, and when the guy got out … he sent them to Manson’s pal. That friend teased Manson by sending him a photo of the teeth, and Manson wrote back to him begging him to return them. He didn’t.

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Jay Z – has cancelled his Dec. 6 performance in Lincoln, Nebraska due to ‘technical difficulties’.  Jay -Z indicates that he does not go ahead with a show with glitches because he wants his set to be perfect.  The issue is believed to be difficulty in setting up large screens for clips of the tour to be projected on.
• KISS – Gene Simmons has ruled out the possibility of ever working with former guitarist Vinnie Vincent again because he says he has no interest in surrounding himself with “losers” who rely on alcohol and drugs. Quote: “He’s a very talented guy…But I don’t need more dark clouds over my life.”
• Roy Orbison – his sons have become embroiled in a legal battle over development of their late father’s hologram after its first tour dates were announced.  They claim that a former business partner is blocking attempts to make virtual performances a reality.  Roy’s boys have asked the court to declare that their agreement with Hologram USA was correctly terminated.  It’s not yet clear whether the legal action will affect the planned tour dates.
• Morrissey – thinks he ”spearheaded the movement” towards sexual and gender fluidity. He has  identified as ‘humasexual’ – meaning he is attracted to ‘’humans’ since 2013 – and he thinks it is ”extraordinary” the way people are no longer expected to label their sexuality.
• Jann Arden – says that when she first wrote on Facebook about mother’s experience with Alzheimer’s, she didn’t expect it might lead to her next book.  Overnight, her post received thousands of comments and an outpouring of support from Facebook users, which led to the release of ‘Feeding My Mother: Comfort and Laughter in the Kitchen as My Mom Lives with Memory Loss’, out now.
• Luke Bryan – says that his new song ‘Most People are Good’, featuring the line “Most mamas ought to qualify for sainthood,” made his Mom cry the first time she heard it.  It is on the album ‘What Makes You Country’, out Dec. 8.
• Pam Tillis & Lorrie Morgan – have a new album out together.  ‘Come See Me and Come Lonely’ features a cover of the title song, plus versions of Dwight Yoakam’s ‘Guitars, Cadillacs’, Roy Orbison’s ‘It’s Over’, and the Everly Brothers’ ‘Walk Right Back’.  It also features guest appearances by Joe Diffie and Darryl Worley.

CHECK YOUR EARRING:
So it turns out that matching earrings aren’t cool anymore.  Increasingly, women are opting for mismatched earrings as a way to express their individuality.  According to Natalie Kingham, who is the buying director at a fashion retailer, “Customers are increasingly interested in asymmetric jewelry, especially earrings.”  Earrings, in contrast to long-held tradition, are being uncoupled into mismatched shapes, sizes or different-colored stones.  Sometimes one earring might have a gold chain or other accessory attached, or the two pieces can be completely different.  Fans of asymmetrical styling tend be more “fashion-forward and experimental.” according to one expert.
(Plus if you lose one….or find one…you’re good to go!)

DRESSING FOR CHRISTMAS:
The good people at Hidden Valley have revealed their collection of gift items for this year, and as far as I’m concerned, THIS is this year’s star attraction: They are selling FIVE-LITER kegs of ranch dressing!  That’s right, among the usual selection of things like shirts, socks and other mundane holiday-themed gift items, you can order a 10-inch mini-ranch dressing keg.  It is made to hold up to five liters of ranch dressing, and comes with a year supply of the tangy goodness.  How much?  Does it really matter?  $50.
(Does it come with a straw?)
(It might be a year supply to you….)
(Uh, are these stackable?  Asking for a friend.)
(Uh, exactly how long does that stuff keep?)

“FACTS” THAT ARE ACTUALLY WRONG:
Famous ‘facts’ that have been disproved:
✗ Nails and hair grow after death:  Skin around the nails and the hair shrink due to the lack of water content in the body.  As a result, the nails and hair look to have grown.
✗ Bulls hate the color red:  Bulls are color blind. The constant movement of the cape is what angers the bull (Plus that impaling thing.  They hate that too).
✗ Humans use 10% of their brains:  A recent study of the human brain has proven that it is being completely used throughout the day.  (They obviously haven’t met some of my relatives…!)
✗ A penny thrown off a large building can be deadly: a penny is not heavy enough to perforate human skin. Plus, when something is thrown from such a high distance, wind resistance alone will slow it down, thereby taking away the majority of its force. (Now you’re penny-wise?)
✗ You can see the Great Wall of China from space:  No astronomer has ever gone on record to say that any man-made object could be seen from space (Maybe ask an astronaut instead of an astronomer?)
✗ Vikings wore horned helmets:  Horned helmets were worn by people in the area populated by Vikings long before the Vikings arrived.  However, the horned helmets were gone before the Vikings even showed up there.  (So…you’re telling me that Hagar the Horrible is not historically accurate?)
✗ We lose 80% (or 90%) of our body heat through our head:  The body heat that we lose escapes through all parts of our body.  It is almost equally distributed. (If it were true, you would see steam coming off people’s heads in the Winter!)
✗ Cracking your knuckles gives you Arthritis:  This has been proven false by a famous scientist who went on to win the Nobel Prize for his research.  (But obviously not the Nobel ‘Peace and Quiet’ Prize!)
✗ Vaccines cause autism:  Shut. Up.
