Here’s More Bull Roar!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s wedding guests are already trying to sell their gift bags on eBay. The bags were given to 1,200 members of the public who were chosen by ballot to celebrate on the Windsor Castle grounds and watch the wedding ceremony from outside of the building. The bags are being sold for up to $1200 USD, which is VERY steep considering that they consist of just a commemorative tote, a magnet, a biodegradable poncho, a chocolate coin, some shortbread, and a can of water.

★ An official cause of death has been determined for the Emmy award winning sound mixer who tragically fell to his death on the set of Tom Hanks‘ new movie. An autopsy was conducted on James Emswiller Friday afternoon and it was determined he died from blunt force impact injuries to his head and torso after falling from a two-story building in Pennsylvania. The death was ruled accidental. It was speculated that Emswiller may have suffered a heart attack before falling from the building, but the medical examiner says they were unable to tell if an episode occurred before the fall or after.  Emswiller suffered from cardiovascular disease.

★ Johnny Depp has responded to the controversy surrounding his casting as the villain Grindelwald in the upcoming “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald”. When it was announced, Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling faced backlash from fans questioning why domestic violence allegations made against Depp by his ex-wife Amber Heard didn’t preclude him from the project. Depp says: “J.K. has seen the evidence and therefore knows I was falsely accused, and that’s why she publicly supported me.  She doesn’t take things lightly. She would not stand up if she didn’t know the truth.”

★ John Schneider is competing for more than just the mirrorball trophy on “Dancing With the Stars,” because there’s a good chance his winnings will be used to pay off his outstanding debt to his ex-wife. Elvira Schneider’s legal team recently obtained documents that allegedly show the former “Dukes of Hazzard” star made over $1 million through various projects last year alone. Apparently, a wage garnishment order was issued by the court, allowing Schneider’s income, specifically what he’s currently making on “DWTS,” to help pay off delinquent alimony owed to his ex.

★ Just over a year after Playboy founder Hugh Hefner passed away, fans will have a chance to own some of his iconic items. Julien’s Auctions will be selling property from Hefner’s collection, including his iconic red smoking jacket and his black silk pajamas. The smoking jacket is valued between $3,000 and $5,000, while the black silk pajamas are expected to fetch between $1,000 and $2,000. The auction will take place November 30 and December 1 in Los Angeles, with proceeds going to The Hugh M. Hefner Foundation.
(Buy them?  I wouldn’t even TOUCH them!)

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Kanye West – has rented out an entire luxury resort on the Nile River in Uganda.  He is there with his family and entourage so he can “find his roots” in Africa while recording his new album.  The resort confirmed that Ye rented the entire facility for the week, and made it clear he doesn’t want anyone bothering him or his guests.
• Justin Bieber – An exhibit dedicated to him in his Stratford, Ontario hometown will be sticking around for at least another year after smashing attendance records there. Organizers at the Stratford Perth Museum say that the ‘Steps to Stardom’, collection of mementoes will stay on display until October 2019 before it undergoes another review.
Michael Bublé – (***UPDATE***) His management team has set the record straight on a recent report that he’s retiring from the music industry and had given his final interview. On Sunday, his reps called the rumours “completely false,” according to ET Canada. A shared Facebook message reads: “The rumours and reports that Michael is quitting is completely false. We ask everyone to not share any of these tabloid stories and delete any posts already shared to the Buble insider and personal pages.” The Daily Mail had quoted him as saying, “I don’t have the stomach for it any more. The celebrity narcissism. This is my last interview. I’m retiring. I’ve made the perfect record and now I can leave at the very top.”
• Three Doors Down — Founding member and former bassist Todd Harrell has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for possession of a firearm by a felon. Authorities responding to an alarm at his home in June noticed guns and drugs on the premises.
• Def Leppard — have released ‘We All Need Christmas’, a new holiday-themed song.  They will also release “The Story So Far: The Best of Def Leppard” and “Hysteria: The Singles” on Nov. 30.
• ZZ Top — Guitarist Billy Gibbons says he has “great confidence” that there will be a new ZZ Top album, and that colleagues Dusty Hill and Frank Beard started working on material while he was completing his latest solo LP, “The Big Bad Blues”. Quote:  They said, ‘Yeah, go do your thing.  We’re going to start peeling the onion and create a few ZZ Top starter pieces.”
• Bryan Adams — and Jann Arden have joined CTV’s singing competition “The Launch.” They will both be mentors on the series, which is shooting its second season. Adams will also be a producer. The new season premieres in early 2019.
• Toby Keith — On Nov. 30, he will release a remastered edition of his 1993 self-titled debut album, renamed “Should Have Been a Cowboy” after the lead single. It will include a commemorative cover and liner notes, plus three rare tracks from Keith’s personal vault. It will also be available on vinyl for the first time.
• Kane Brown – married his fiancée Katelyn Jae on Friday evening.  They celebrated their wedding with about 200 family and friends at Mint Springs Farm in Franklin, Tenn. He featured his then-fiancée in the music video for his song ‘What’s Mine Is Yours’ last year.

IT’S GETTING HOT OUT THERE:
A Report from the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change last week warned of dire consequences if governments don’t make “rapid, far-reaching, and unprecedented changes in all aspects of society” to stem global warming. But the planet isn’t the only thing at risk — your health might be in danger, too.  Climate change could hit closer to home by causing things like an increase in disease-carrying mosquitos and ticks, contaminated water and bacterial infections, and health conditions like type 2 diabetes, respiratory problems and stroke.  A modest rise in global temperatures is also associated with an increase in mental health issues.  And believe it or not, as things get warmer, experts say more car crashes could result.  A study found that above 29 degrees Celsius (84 Fahrenheit), police conduct fewer traffic stops, which can contribute to unsafe driving conditions.
(But at least the roads won’t be icy!)

SCARRED FOR LIFE:
Have you ever looked at someone who gets up an hour early to run 5K before work, and wished that you were THAT guy (or girl?)  Or the one who bangs off a 30-minute workout on their lunch break?  Or the friend who posts on social media that he or she “can’t wait” to get to the gym after work?  According to researchers, those are probably the kind of people who enjoyed Phys-ed class as school children.  A study shows that how people felt about P.E. as kids has a direct bearing to how they feel about exercise today, and as a result, how active they tend to be as adults.  That means that if you have traumatic memories of being picked last for the volleyball team in gym class, or if you never fit in with the ‘jocks’ in school, you might be less likely to enjoy being active even now.  Researchers concluded that gym teachers might have more success in encouraging life-long physical fitness if they focus on ways to make kids have fun in doing exercise, rather than concentrating on things like how many pull-ups they can do or how many three-pointers they can shoot.
(They’re right.  I didn’t like being made fun of for my chicken-legs then, and I still don’t now!)
(It’s not that I don’t like working out.  It’s just that I’m much better at Photoshop!)
(I loved gym class.  Hate exercise now, though.  That might have something to do with the extra 75 pounds that I’m hauling around…)

WAS I HACKED?
If you fear that you are one of the 30 million Facebook users whose phone numbers and email addresses were accessed by hackers in the biggest security breach in the company’s history, here is how to find out for sure:
-Go to the Facebook Help Center:   https://www.facebook.com/help/securitynotice?ref=sec
-Scroll to the bottom of the page and you’ll find details about your account in a blue box titled, “Is my Facebook account impacted by this security issue?”
(You need to be logged in to Facebook to do this.  If you’re lucky, someone will have already done that for you!)

THINGS YOU DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT YOUR CAT:
⇒ Communication:  Cats communicate among themselves by using their noses. When cats are comfortable with each other, they will often touch noses as a greeting, and to exchange information about how they are feeling, what they have been doing, and where they have been.
(And they communicate with people by unleashing ear-piercing meows in the middle of the night…)
⇒ Purring:    It doesn’t always mean that a cat is happy. Purring can be used to indicate pain, although it usually sounds a bit different compared to the “happy purr” And no one has been able to figure out exactly how they are able to make that sound.
⇒ Chocolate:  Most of us know that dogs shouldn’t eat chocolate.  What might be a surprise is that cats can also get sick, and even die from eating chocolate. Since cats are usually smaller than dogs, it is likely chocolate is even more dangerous to them.
⇒ Meat:  It’s how they clean their teeth — which is a pretty good deal for them, since most of them love meat. Poultry and beef (with bones removed) are two of the best kinds of meat to use to help your cat’s teeth stay clean and healthy.  (Who wrote this?  A cat? Does it say they need lasagna too?)
⇒ The Sun:  You know how they love to lie in a sunny window?  That might seem like sunbathing in a fur coat to us, but some believe that cats descended from ancestors who lived in desert areas, and as a result are adapted to the heat. (Well, we know they don’t like the cold…!)
⇒ Lefty:  Female cats usually favor their right paw while male cats usually favor their left. Interestingly, of the 10 percent or so of humans that are left-handed, the majority of them are male.
(I’m more concerned about that hairball that my cat “left” on the living room floor…)
