BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Aaron Paul told his friends he was making a ”small little indie project” when he was really working on “El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie”. Paul reprised his role as Jesse Pinkman in the Netflix film but work on the project was kept top secret, so he says he enjoyed ”lying” to people about what he was up to. Paul says that he told the truth to his wife, parents and a few friends, but for everyone else, he even had a fake name for the so-called indie project, and “no one second-guessed it.”

★ “Modern Family” star Sofia Vergara is accusing her ex-fiancé Nick Loeb of refusing to answer questions about anti-abortion groups paying his legal bills. Vergara has demanded Loeb turn over any communications he had with “right-to-life or anti-abortion organizations” regarding payment of his legal bills. She believes the groups may be paying to keep the case going and is asking a judge to sanction Loeb to the tune of $34,155. Vergara and Loeb have been fighting in court for years. He sued the actress after she refused to let him bring their frozen embryos to life. She has pointed to a contract they signed, requiring both parties to consent.

★ Jennifer Aniston could have had a career in comedy — if she wanted one. She told Howard Stern that just before she landed her career-making role on “Friends,” she had a meeting with Lorne Michaels about possibly working on “Saturday Night Live”. Quote: “I was such a young twit. I was like, ‘I think that women need to be treated better here.’ Because it was such a boys’ club.” It was not long after that conversation with the “SNL” creator that “Friends” came along — a show she called “lightning in a bottle.”

★ Following Monday’s news that Nick Jonas will be joining “The Voice” as a coach in next year, fans were left wondering why Gwen Stefani won’t be coming back after she just returned in season 17. Now we know. Stefani plans to return to Las Vegas to resume the final dates of her “Just a Girl” residency at Planet Hollywood’s Zappos Theater in February and May 2020 — the same time that season 18 of The Voice will air.

★ Lori Loughlin will likely face a tougher sentence than Felicity Huffman if convicted for her role in the college admissions scandal. Less than a month after Huffman was sentenced to 14 days in prison, U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts, Andrew Lelling, said that Loughlin may find herself in more trouble than her fellow actress for her part in the scandal because, as he put it, “It just happened to be that Ms. Huffman was probably the least culpable of the defendants…She took responsibility almost immediately, she was contrite, did not try to minimize her conduct. I think she handled it in a very classy way.”

• (***Caution: BITCH***) Cardi B – Her debut release “Gangsta Bitch Music Vol. 1” originally issued in March 2016, will be available on vinyl for the first time for Record Store Day on Nov. 29. The 13-track mixtape features the tracks ‘Washpoppin’” and ‘On Fleek’, among others.

Shows will include all nine songs from Hotel California, bolstered by an orchestra and a choir, plus a set of their greatest hits following an intermission.
• Coldplay — Their last album was 2015’s “A Head Full Of Dreams”, but word is that they will drop an ”experimental” record in November, followed by a ”mainstream” studio effort next year, which will likely be followed by a huge tour.
• Dio — The fifth annual “Bowl For Ronnie” celebrity bowling party, benefiting the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund, will take place on November 7 in California. Last year’s event raised $74,000, and attracted some 300 rockers, bowling enthusiasts, DIO fans and Dio Cancer Fund supporters.
• Paul McCartney — has announced the release of two never-before-heard songs. ‘Home Tonight’ and ‘In a Hurry’ will be available for digital download on Nov. 22, with a limited-edition Record Store Day double A-side 7″ picture disc single out on Nov. 29th. Both songs were recorded during the sessions for his 2018 “Egypt Station” album.
• Randy Travis — has canceled the majority of his 2019 tour due to “production issues”. The tour was Travis’ first since suffering a major stroke in 2013. James Dupré was set to sing, with Travis attending for meet-and-greets and to potentially sing a few lines during ‘Forever and Ever, Amen.’ Three dates remain on the schedule, beginning in Evansville, Indiana, on Oct. 17.
• Miranda Lambert — has shared her pick to win the big CMA award. She Instagrammed pair of photos of Carrie Underwood and herself performing their duet, ‘Somethin’ Bad’ with the caption: “Carrie- The Entertainer Of The Year”. The 2019 CMA Awards will take place on Nov. 13. Also nominated in the category are Garth Brooks, Eric Church, Chris Stapleton and Keith Urban.

VIDEO GAME DEVELOPMENTS:
➠ A Montreal-based law firm has launched a proposed class action lawsuit on behalf of two Quebec parents who claim that the video game “Fortnite” is as addictive, and potentially harmful, as cocaine. the legal action alleges that when a person is engaged in “Fortnite” for a long period, the player’s brain releases the “pleasure hormone, dopamine” and that “Fortnite” was developed by psychologists, statisticians and others “to develop the most addictive game possible,” so its publisher, “Epic Games”, could reap lucrative profits. It states that the defendants used the same tactics as the creators of slot machines, or variable reward programs, (to ensure) the dependence of its users, (and) the brain being manipulated to always want more.” And it says that children are particularly vulnerable to this manipulation. The law firm represents two plaintiffs who are parents of a 10 and a 15-year-old.
➠ The National Health Service in the UK is opening the country’s first specialist clinic to treat children and young adults who are addicted to gaming. Patients, ranging in age between 13 and 25, will be able to attend in person or have an online consultation using Skype. The aim of the service, which is part of the NHS-funded Centre for Internet and Gaming Disorders, is to address the “emerging problem” of gaming addiction. In recent years, concern has been raised about the heavy use of computer games by children and young people and the potential effects this could be having on their physical and mental health. In June 2018, ‘gaming disorder’ was officially recognized by World Health Organization as a mental health disorder.

MAN’S BEST FRIEND – NOW MORE THAN EVER:
Owning a dog might make you live longer. That’s according to a new study of data taken on almost 4 million people in 10 studies between 1950 and 2019. The analysis found that dog owners experience nearly a one-third lower risk of dying from heart problems, and a 24% risk reduction in death overall when compared to those who don’t own a dog. And among dog owners who had survived a heart attack, their risk of death was 65% lower than non-owners. The results were published in the American Heart Association journal.
(And even better, you get to spend all that extra time you have…with your dog!)
(And what do we do to thank them? We pee in their water bowl!)
(The likely reason dog owners live longer is because of all that extra exercise they get stooping and scooping!)

WHAT MAKES A BAD BOSS:
New research from the global staffing firm “Robert Half” shows that there is some truth to the saying: “People leave managers, not companies.” About two in five professionals surveyed in Canada (39 per cent) have quit a job because of a bad boss. Here are a few ways bad bosses can cause employees to leave:
☞ A bad boss can be tough to reach:  Employees often need quick input from leaders to move forward with projects. Staff who can’t count on a timely reply are likely to be continually frustrated and may eventually seek greener pastures. (“But I was busy…doing…boss things…”)
☞ A bad boss micromanages:  Bosses who require constant updates and give overly detailed directions on how work should be done can exasperate employees. It also shows workers that you don’t believe they can make good decisions on their own. (The best boss is the one who wants you to be successful…)
☞ A bad boss leaves the managing to others:  Managers on the other end of the scale — who provide vague direction or leave tough decisions to other people — are another reason that good employees leave. Workers want a leader who leads.
(A bad boss takes credit for his staff’s successes…and blames them for their failures!)

DID YOU KNOW?
Twenty new moons have been found around Saturn, giving the ringed planet a total of 82. That beats Jupiter’s 79 for the most in our solar system. Some of the newly-discovered Saturn moons are as small as 3 miles (5km) in diameter. The Carnegie Institution for Science’s discovery team says there may still be as many as 100 even tinier yet-to-be-discovered moons orbiting Saturn.

BS REASONS TO PARTY . . .
• “Angel Food Cake Day”, honoring the dessert every starving dieter touts as being ‘fat-free’ … just before inhaling it in its entirety. (With a ton of high-fat whip cream!)

• “International Stage Management Day”, celebrating all the work that stage managers do in theaters and on film sets. (Like referees, if you don’t notice them, they’re doing a great job!)

• “World Homeless Day”, to draw attention to the needs of the homeless and provide opportunities for communities to get involved in responding.

• “World Mental Health Day”, a day for global mental health education and awareness. It was first celebrated in 1992 as an initiative of the World Federation for Mental Health, which operates in more than 150 countries.

• “World Porridge Day”, a celebration of Scotland’s traditional national dish. It began in the wee Scottish Highlands village of Carrbridge (home of the annual “World Porridge Making Championship”) as a fundraiser to help feed needy children. So how do you like your gruel? (I like mine not too hot, not too cold…. but JUST RIGHT!)

• “Hug a Drummer Day”, a day to celebrate drummers, the percussionists who keep the rhythm and beat of music, but are usually the least celebrated musicians in a band, and are often neglected. The day was created to bring a little appreciation and exposure to drummers. Because we never miss a chance to tell them, here are our favorite drummer jokes:
➢ How can you tell when a drummer’s at the door? [The knocking speeds up. Then he doesn’t know when to come in.]
➢ How can you tell when the stage riser is level? [The drool comes out of both sides of the drummer’s mouth.]
➢ What do you call a drummer who breaks up with his girlfriend? [Homeless.]
➢ What’s the last thing a drummer says in a band? [“Hey guys, why don’t we try one of my songs?”]
➢ What’s the difference between a podiatrist and a drummer? [A podiatrist bucks up your feet.]
➢ And the all-time classic: What do you call someone who hangs around with musicians? [A drummer.]
