BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ [***UPDATED***]  It was reported that Corey Feldman was busted for marijuana possession in Louisiana on Saturday.  But he took to Twitter to straighten things out.  He wasn’t actually arrested or put in jail.  He received a misdemeanor possession charge because a member of his crew had medical marijuana on him with a legal California prescription.  Feldman was charged because it was his RV the band was riding in.  Feldman was also charged with driving under suspension and speeding.  He was on his way with bandmates to perform in Monroe.  Feldman was transported to the local jail where he paid a $400 fine.  He was released shortly after.  As he tweeted, “No illegal or street drugs were found on the bus at all!”
(Didn’t you totally think they were going to say he LIVES on the RV?)
-TheBlast, Corey Feldman
★ Kate Winslet says she was warned by her friend Leonardo DiCaprio that she would “probably lose a limb” making the movie ‘The Mountain Between Us’.  Winslet shot the plane crash survival movie in temperatures of -38C in the Canadian Rockies.  She turned to her ‘Titanic’ co-star for advice before beginning work on the project because he’d had a similar grueling experience on ‘The Revenant’.
(I’m surprised he would want to look out for her after the way she hogged the floating door at the end of ‘Titanic’!)
-MSN
★ George Clooney says that he is no longer a leading man in Hollywood. And he’s OK with it.  According to him, he still receives the odd movie script for him to consider.  Clooney says “I used to read three or four a week, now I read one every two months”.  He says that he has switched his focus more to writing and directing.  His film ‘Suburbicon’, which he wrote and directed, opens on Friday.
-Jam.Canoe
★ Alec Baldwin is ”semi-obsessed” with death.  Baldwin, who has three young children with his wife Hilaria, admits that becoming a father again late in life has made him reflect on his own mortality.  Baldwin says:  ”You know what I think about now?  I think about how much time I have left.”
(President Trump probably thinks that about him too!)
-ContactMusic
★ Priscilla Presley has become the latest celebrity to walk away from the controversial Church of Scientology.  Presley has told friends that she has quit the religion after nearly four decades.  She is believed to have joined Scientology after the death of her husband Elvis.
-DailyMail
★ John Stamos has announced his engagement to his girlfriend Caitlin McHugh.  54-year-old Stamos took to Instagram on Sunday to announce he had popped the question to his girlfriend of nearly two years, who is 31 years old.  His post read: “I asked…she said yes! …And we lived happily ever after”.  Stamos was previously married for seven years to actress Rebecca Romijn, before their divorce in 2005.

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Justin Timberlake — will return to the Super Bowl stage in February 2018 for a record-breaking third time.  He has assured fans that this time there will not another wardrobe malfunction.  He performed with Janet Jackson at the halftime show in 2004, when the famous ‘Nipplegate’ incident occurred, and also performed with his boy band ‘NSync at the 2001 Super Bowl alongside Aerosmith and his ex Britney Spears.
• Ed Sheeran – is anti-social. He says he doesn’t own a mobile phone because he enjoys being able to disconnect from others and spend quality time with himself.   And his last Tweet was made on July 17.  His bio now reads: ”I don’t use this anymore, please follow me on teddysphotos on instagram”.
• Adele – has been offered $26 million for a year-long residency in Las Vegas. Bosses at The Wynn hotel are reportedly so keen to sign her up that they have offered her $500,000 per show.
(She’ll be ‘Rollin’ in the Cash’!)
• Niall Horan – says he was ”happy” to take the back seat in One Direction.  He wasn’t often the center of attention in the group, but he didn’t mind because he was just happy to be part of the band.
• Frank Ocean – has won the $14.5 million libel lawsuit filed against him by his father, Calvin Cooksey.  A judge ruled in Ocean’s favor on his father’s charges that he had been defamed in a 2016 Tumblr post.
• Nirvana – Kurt Cobain’s widow and daughter have accelerated their efforts to block the release of photos depicting his 1994 suicide, contending that their release would be “highly offensive” and would cause “substantial irreparable harm” to Courtney and Frances Bean Love.
• Mick Jagger – his life was saved by actress Faye Dunaway after a wild drug binge, according to a new book.  “Sticky Fingers: The Life And Times Of Jann Wenner And Rolling Stone Magazine” claims that Jagger ‘turned blue’ at a New York apartment in the 1970’s, and Dunaway and her then husband, Peter Wolf, made sure that Jagger was rushed to hospital.
• Scorpions – guitarist Matthias Jabs admits it was “kind of stupid” to embark on a farewell tour in 2010, and then announce two years later that they would keep going.  They have a new ‘ballads’ compilation called ‘Born to Touch Your Feelings’ coming out next month with four new recordings.
• Miranda Lambert – says she’s a ‘bad’ celebrity.  Quote: “I’m not actually a very good famous person at all.  I hate cameras. I don’t love the spotlight. It was a big shocker to me that the music business is 80% business and 20% music”.
• Dan + Shay – Shay Mooney is a married man.  He and Hannah Billingsley tied the knot on Friday on Mooney’s family’s property in Arkansas.  Bandmate Dan Smyers was one of his groomsmen, as was their guitarist, Justin Richards.  The couple’s son Asher James (born in January) was carried down the aisle in a baby tux. Mooney performed a song he’d written for Billingsley.

PLEASE WASH BEFORE ENTERING SHOWER:
If you think you have your skincare routine down to a fine art, try THIS on for size: A Korean beauty retailer and esthetician says that despite the various ways and products that cleanse your skin, there is one thing that is very bad for your skin that many of us are guilty of…you should NEVER wash your face in the shower.  Charlotte Cho, the founder of Soko Glam, says that having hot water streaming onto your face can strip away your natural oils and leave your skin barrier weak, vulnerable and cracked.  It is perfectly OK to wash your face either before or after the shower as long as you aren’t using the hot water directly from the shower head to get your morning cleanse in. She says that although there are many skin care products and methods, the greatest contributor to healthy skin comes down to treating it gently.
(I always thought it was OK to wash my face in the shower…as long as I wash it FIRST!)
(Or you could be like my kids and only wash your face after eating spaghetti!)

THE SELFIE: NOW LEGAL TENDER?
The selfie is everywhere — Facebook, Instagram, Twitter — and soon your bank could be asking for one in order to approve your purchase or credit card application.  Visa Inc. is launching a platform to allow banks to integrate various types of biometrics — your fingerprint, face, voice, etc. — into approving both credit card applications and payments.  In the future, you could apply for a credit card on your smartphone, and the bank app could ask you to take a selfie and then take a picture of your driver’s license or passport. The technology would then compare the photos for facial similarities and check the validity of the driver’s license, all within seconds.  The selfie could also be used in a similar way as a security measure for making an online purchase.
(And we could all have great fun trying to look as grouchy in our selfie as we do in our passport photo…)
(My parents are going to have to finally get rid of their flip-phones!)

FLOWER POWER:
Scientists say that they have detected a ‘secret power’ that some flowers use to attract bees.  As you might know, flowers need bees for pollination.  To help get the bees’ attention, it has been discovered that some flowers are able to create a blue ‘halo’ around themselves.  Bees like the color blue, but that is not a common color for a flower, so they resort to trickery.  The produce a blue halo when sunlight strikes a series of ridges in their waxy surfaces.  When the light bounces back, it affects the color that is seen.  Even for bees.
(Now that I know how to attract bees, could you fill me in on how to REPEL them?)
(It must be true.  Because they are always attracted to my blue Pepsi can!)

THE BEST KINDS OF EXERCISE:
As recommended by a Harvard Medical School professor…

1. Swimming: called the ‘perfect workout’ because it works every muscle and raises your heart rate, and virtually no chance of impact injuries.

2. Tai chi: it can reduce stress, improve posture, balance and mobility, and strengthen your legs.

3.  Walking: gets your heart rate up, lowers stress, it is low-impact, and works your lower-body muscles.

4.  Kegels: they help with urinary incontinence, and with….um…other pursuits.
(To me, the best kind of exercise is opening up the lawn chair!)
