Sheet For Brains!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ ‘The Walking Dead’ star Andrew Lincoln says his dream role would be to play a Jedi Knight in a ‘Star Wars’ movie.  Even though he stars in one of the top shows on TV, when asked what he would be doing if he hadn’t landed the role on ‘The Walking Dead’, Lincoln said that he used to joke that he was one of the only actors in the British actor’s union who hadn’t been in the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise, “so maybe I would have been wizarding about Hogwarts or hobbit-ing about Middle Earth”.  Her went on to say that he always wanted to get his hands around a lightsaber.
(It might come in handy on his current show, too!)

★ Nick Cannon is fed up with sharing so much about his personal life on social media, but it’s unclear if he’s taking a moral stand or a financial one. The former “America’s Got Talent” star says that on one hand his personal stuff should be kept private … but he also says he wasn’t making any money from Instagram, and “every time we put up a picture they own it.” Cannon’s bitterness for social media comes on the heels of his ex-wife Mariah Carey recording a bizarre livestream on Facebook that had friends and associates worried about her mental health.
(Same.  I don’t make any money off Instagram either.)
-TheBlast
★ Gerard Butler says he wants to become a father and start a family in the next five years. With five films in the pipeline for release over the next few years, Butler says it’s difficult for him to even find the time to pursue a family. He has been touring the world promoting his new action-thriller Geostorm, which was released on Friday.
(First problem, Gerard: You don’t ‘pursue’ a family.  Unless they cut you off on the highway!)
-DailyMail
★ Renee Zellweger will play Judy Garland in a new movie.   The as-yet untitled film will focus on the fading screen icon’s final days, telling the story of the fragile Wizard Of Oz star’s last concerts in London, a few months before her tragic death in the city. Filming is set to begin early next year.
-DailyMail
★ George Clooney is going to teach his kids his ”dirty tricks”.  Clooney is known for pulling pranks on his colleagues, and he is ”already trying” to pass on his gags to his four-month-old twins Alexander and Ella, whom he has with his 39-year-old wife Amal.  His favorite? “The peanut butter on the tennis shoe move. You walk into a party with peanut butter on your tennis shoe, and you look around and ask anybody if it smells like crap, and then you reach down and you actually taste the peanut butter off of your shoe with your finger.”
(Tasteful!)

★ When somebody mentions the name Michael Bay, many people will instantly think of the ‘Transformers’ franchise, or the recent ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ live-action reboot.  It is a little strange then, to discover that the producer/director has been brought in as producer on a planned live-action ‘Dora The Explorer’ film.
(Maybe ‘Dora the Transforma’?)

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Justin Bieber — A fan was arrested at the singer’s Beverly Hills home Monday after cops say she wandered onto the property looking for Bieber…for the third time in a week.  Bieber was home during the incident, but did not make contact with the woman. She was booked for trespassing.
• Taylor Swift – Days after dropping her upcoming album’s third single, she has announced her second music video for “…Ready For It?”, which premiere tomorrow night. It features Swift as a naked cyborg version of herself.  There are preview clips online now.
• Harry Styles – was sexually assaulted Saturday night during a performance in Los Angeles.
While singing at the ‘We Can Survive’ benefit at the Hollywood Bowl, he got down on his knees at the edge of the stage. Fan-shot video shows Styles brushing away the hand of one fan who touched his crotch before he stood up and backed away.  Within hours, the hashtag #RespectHarry was trending.
• Demi Lovato – her new documentary ‘Simply Complicated’ contains some surprising revelations about her former flame Wilmer Valderrama.  In it, Lovato says she thinks her ‘heart is always with’ the actor.
• Sam Smith – has opened up about being gender non-binary. He says that at 17 he was obsessed with Boy George and Marilyn Monroe, and for a period of 2½ years, he owned no male clothing and wore full make-up to school every day.
• Katharine McPhee – she and David Foster are, in fact, dating — just not exclusively. The pair have known each other for some time and although they are working together musically, they prefer to keep their personal lives together ‘casual’.
• Foo Fighters – In spite of the fact that they had to cancel a few dates due to a “family emergency”, they have extended their tour in support of ‘Concrete and Gold’ into 2018 with a new run of Spring and Summer dates. The spring leg kicks off April 18th in Austin, Texas.
• Stone Temple Pilots – recently announced that they have found their new singer after sifting through over 15,000 applications.  But bassist Robert DeLeo has dismissed online speculation that they’ve hired ‘The X Factor’ competitor Jeff Gutt, or Filipino singer John Borja as “Rubbish”.
• Judas Priest – have revealed that their new studio album will be titled ‘Firepower’ and will be released early next year.  The 2018 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame nominees have also announced a run of North American dates beginning in March – the first in a planned world tour.
• Marilyn Manson – his former guitar player, Scott Putesky, who used the name ‘Daisy Berkowitz’, has died at the age of 49. In August 2013, the guitarist was diagnosed with stage-four colon cancer.
• Chris Stapleton – has shared the new song, ‘Millionaire’ from his upcoming album, ‘From A Room: Vol. 2′, out December 1.  It is a cover of the 2001 Kevin Welch song and features Stapleton’s wife Morgane guesting on vocals.
• Tim McGraw – he and Faith Hill Faith Hill have shared a new duet, ‘Break First’.  It is the latest song that Hill and McGraw have revealed from their upcoming duets album, ‘The Rest of Our Life’, which will be released Nov. 17.

DOG FACE:
If you’re a dog owner, you probably know that your pet has learned exactly how to push your buttons, but new research out of the University of Portsmouth proves that dogs know how to get what they want from you, and it turns out that they are masters of facial expression.  Apparently dogs don’t just express emotion through their faces, but they also take into account who it is that is looking at them.  It will come as no surprise to dog lovers that the classic “sad puppy dog eyes” ended up being one of the keys to the study.  Researchers discovered that dogs use that expression more often than any other, and they use it specifically on humans.  The study showed that dogs produce far more facial expressions when someone is watching, but surprisingly, seeing food treats did not have the same effect.  Scientists say that means dogs are sensitive to humans’ attention and that expressions are potentially attempts to communicate, not simple emotional displays.  So, yes, your dog knows exactly what it’s doing when it gives you that look, and there’s very little you can do to fight it.
(Yes, my dog is more expressive than my teenager…)
(If you didn’t think that dogs have facial expressions, you just aren’t a dog person!)
(On the other hand, cats have one facial expression: Superiority.)

TODAY’S NEW TECHNOLOGICAL WORD:
It’s happening everywhere and it’s extremely dangerous.  Wexting.  Nope, it’s not a disease. Walking and texting (wexting) is being pegged as a major risk to pedestrian safety. The word wexting hasn’t even been officially recognized as a word yet by any major dictionary. However, according to a few US states that track wexting-related accidents, wexters are more likely to be involved in an accident than a texting motorist.  Injuries associated with wexting are increasing and personal injury lawyer Brian Cameron says that it is only a matter of time before a wexting personal injury lawsuit makes its way into the courts and serious damages are sought.
(I’m sure it is a serious problem.  But it is also the source of a lot of hilarious viral videos!)
(I’m sorry, but I can’t take this problem seriously until they come up with a less funny-sounding name than ‘wexting’.)
(I don’t know how big of a problem this is, but I know that my insurance company is going to find a way to increase my rates because of it!)

USES FOR BANANA PEELS:*
*besides making someone slip and fall like in the cartoons…

☞ Whitening your teeth: Rub the peel of a banana over your teeth before brushing each night, and within a couple weeks you’ll notice a difference. (Yes, your toothpaste will taste terrible!)
☞ Reduce breakouts and wrinkles:  Banana peels have properties conducive to moisturizing and reducing inflammation. This can soothe acne and reduce outbreaks. They can also reduce wrinkles and tighten skin.  (I mean, just look at monkeys!)
☞ Polish belongings:  You can use banana peel to polish your shoes, leather and silver.  Rub the banana peel against the surface then buff it out with a cloth. ( I recommend doing this in private, not on the subway!)
☞ Reduce bug bites, scratches and bruises:  Gently rub a banana peel over a bug bite to reduce itching, and if you have a bruise or scratch, by treating with banana peel you can speed up the healing process.
☞ Keep boneless, skinless meat from drying out: The banana leaf is commonly used in Asian dishes.  But you can use banana peels to keep your chicken from drying out.  Place a banana peel on top of the meat and bake in the oven.  (But if it is skinless, isn’t it already ‘peeled’?)
☞ Eradicate warts: They can eliminate and prevent warts.  Tape a banana peel to your wart overnight for a week and the wart will disappear also making it less likely to reappear in the same location. (For a week?  Tape a banana peel to anybody for a week and they’ll disappear!)
☞ Feed your plants: Chop up banana peels and place them in your plant soil. Your plant will thank you for the nutrient-dense meal. (Did my green thumb just become yellow?)
(And they never even mentioned the banana-phone!)
