BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ With “El Camino” making its Netflix debut today, “’Breaking Bad” creator Vince Gilligan has waited until the last minute to reveal the fate of Walter White. As fans know, Breaking Bad ends with Walter White (played by Bryan Cranston) lying on the ground in a pool of blood. By all appearances, he was dead, although it was a little ambiguous in TV terms. With the new sequel, some have speculated that he might actually be alive, but Gilligan says that that is not the case. He confirmed the demise of White in a new interview, saying: “Yes, Walter White is dead. Yes.”
-PopCulture
★ Robert Downey Jr. was conspicuously absent from Disney’s awards bid for “Avengers: Endgame”, which was unveiled last week. Many fans thought that his performance as “Iron Man” topped off the climactic phase three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s ambitious story arc, so some saw it as a bit of an insult that Disney didn’t submit his name for Oscar consideration. But it appears that Downey Jr. himself asked not to be considered for the Best Actor statue. Speaking to Howard Stern, he said: “There was some talk about it, and I said, ‘Let’s not.’ Doing [the Marvel movies] was their own reward. I don’t know that it’s time or if I am the guy… to have the Academy recognize.”
-Yahoo
★ “The Hills” star Brandon Lee was so moved by the Todd Phillips’ movie, “Joker,” that he decided to open up about his depression and anxiety. The famous son of Tommy Lee and Pam Anderson took to Instagram to share his thoughts about the film. Lee wrote: “The ‘Joker’ film hit the nail on the head. I hope people realize how much we constantly torment people with mental illness in this country. I’ve dealt with depression and anxiety my entire life and I’ve been lucky enough to be able to afford treatment for that. Lee also pointed out that “It’s not fun, and untreated…. It doesn’t get better.”

★ Alec Baldwin and his family were scammed by a fake tour operator as they planned a trip to the Statue of Liberty last weekend. Baldwin and his wife Hilaria wanted to take their four children to see the iconic New York monument in style, so decided to shell out on $40 tickets after being promised they were for a tour of Liberty Island, where the statue is located. However, they soon discovered they’d been duped, after they were led to a tour bus with a destination of Liberty Park, N.J.

Stuart Cramp says that as a prank, every year, Sheeran “puts a stupid clause in it that I have to proceed with…I have to carry a picture of them in my wallet at all times. I have a little laminated card of those lovely twins. I have to have that with me at all times.”
• Camila Cabello – says that some of the songs on her upcoming album “Romance” are about Shawn Mendes. Although she didn’t confirm which songs were inspired by him, fans have pointed to the single ‘Shameless’. By the way, the two still haven’t outright confirmed that they are dating. (But they are.)
• Gwen Stefani — will receive the Fashion Icon Award at the 2019 E! People’s Choice Awards. She has a number of fashion brands, including L.A.M.B., Harajuku Lovers, eyewear line gx by Gwen Stefani and Harajuku Mini for Target. She will be presented with the award Nov. 10.
• Ozzy Osbourne — has once again postponed his European tour dates. The trek. originally planned for early 2019, was pushed back due to a severe upper-respiratory infection, and again following a fall. In a video, Ozzy says he is “not ready,” but, contrary to rumors, he is “not dying”, but recovery is “taking a little bit longer than everyone thought it would.” At this point, his American dates beginning on May 27 are still a go.
• Tom Petty — A stash of memorabilia and music has been returned to his family. His San Fernando Valley storage unit was broken into last month and at least $100k worth of valuables was taken, including guitars and other instruments, guns and some hard drives loaded with music, some of it unreleased. A suspect has been arrested for burglary.
• Lynyrd Skynyrd – The new documentary “I’ll Never Forget You” will be released on DVD Dec. 13. It’s based on the book by security guard Gene Odom and delivers firsthand accounts of the 1977 plane crash that killed singer Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist Steve Gaines, backup singer Cassie Gaines, their road manager, and the pilots.
• Carrie Underwood – Heidi Merrill, who accused Underwood of ripping off her work, has dropped her massive lawsuit. In June, Merrill sued Underwood and the NFL, accusing Underwood of plagiarizing her work and creating her song ‘Game On’, which ran during Sunday Night Football.
• Zac Brown – says his band’s new music isn’t just country. In an interview, he expressed frustration with the fact that to release music to iTunes, an artist must select one genre. He says “I am not just a country artist…I have to create what moves me and what connects with my fans…But I don’t like being coined as a ’country artist.’ I like just being an ’artist.’. He did label the group’s new album “The Owl” as ‘country’.

TODAY’S MOVIE OPENINGS:

LEGGO YOUR LEGO:
Lego wants their stuff back. The Toymaker is testing a way for customers to ship their used and unwanted bricks back so they can be used by other children. The company says that those in the U.S. can print out a mailing label from its website, and ship their used Lego for free. From there, the blocks will be cleaned and given to “Teach for America”, a non-profit organization that will donate them to classrooms. Some will also be sent to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston.
(They don’t mean to rush you, but please STEP ON IT!)
(Donate your Lego, save a foot!)
(And think of all the money you’ll be saving by not having to donate to the swear jar!)

OUT “RAGE” OUS:
The NHL’s Philadelphia Flyers have unveiled a new experience at their home arena, the Wells Fargo Center. It might be the kind of thing that’s most popular when the team isn’t doing so well. “The Disassembly Room” is the first-ever ‘rage room’ located inside a major professional sports arena. It opened to the public during the Flyers home opener against the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday. For a fee of $35, patrons can unleash their frustrations on a variety of very breakable items such as televisions, windows, dishware, mirrors, and a guitar. For a little extra incentive, some items feature the logo of an opposing team. To do the smashing, “ragers” are required to wear protective gear, and can choose from blunt force instruments including sledgehammers, baseball bats, and of course, hockey sticks.
(The Liberty Bell isn’t the ONLY thing in Philly that’s cracked!)
(I’ve seen the Flyers play. They’re using this room to scout talent.)
(Who got to “break it in”?)

-It’s so simple to be wise. Just think of something stupid, then say the opposite.

MONDAY–
• “Thanksgiving Day” in Canada, thanks to a 1957 act of parliament making the 2nd Monday in October ‘a day of general thanksgiving for the bountiful harvest with which Canada has been blessed’. Many historians believe the first North American “Thanksgiving” event occurred in Newfoundland in 1578. That would put it 43 years before the Pilgrims landing in Massachusetts in 1621. Others claim the first Canadian Thanksgiving was celebrated in Halifax in 1763. It became an annual Canadian tradition in 1879, celebrated on the same day as the USA. It was later moved ahead to reflect the earlier harvest season.
