BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Trevor Noah is set to return as host of the Grammys. The comedian and host of “The Daily Show” will return for the second consecutive year to the Staples Center on January 31. In a press release, Grammys CEO Harvey Mason Jr. wrote: “Trevor was amazing as our host for the 63rd Grammy Awards…We’re so excited to welcome Trevor back to the Grammys stage and feel fortunate to once again have him hosting what we believe will be an unforgettable evening.” The ceremony will air live on CBS.

★ The iconic house from “Home Alone” is going to play host to some lucky guests, thanks to Airbnb. The very same Chicago-area home that saw a young Macaulay Culkin get the better of buffoonish crooks Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern is available for one hijinks-filled overnight stay on Dec. 12, and it’ll cost just about the same as a couple of pizzas. The house looks much like it did in the 1990 holiday classic, including the candlelit dining room for eating mac n’ cheese and planning how to fend off burglars, and paint cans dangling above the staircase. The pet tarantula that terrified the bandits will be there, too. In celebration of the upcoming release of “Home Sweet Home Alone,” character ‘Buzz McCallister’ is hosting the super rare overnight experience for 4. Booking for the stay — for just $25 –opens on Tuesday at 2 p.m. ET. (“Keep the change, ya filthy animal!”)

★ Investigators in New Mexico were authorized by a judge to search an Albuquerque prop store from which some of the rounds used on the set of the film “Rust” prior to the fatal shooting in October are believed to have been supplied. In the search warrant, “Rust” armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed is quoted as saying that she or prop master Sarah Zachry had picked up ammunition for the movie from a man named Seth Kenney at PDQ Arm and Prop. Authorities outlined 2 possible ways live ammunition could have ended up in the gun discharged by Alec Baldwin that resulted in the shooting death of director of photography Halyna Hutchins.

★ A Change.org petition asking reporters to stop interviewing Will and Jada Pinkett Smith has garnered more than 11,000 signatures — and counting. It was started by user Dexter Morales last week, with the caption “Stop interviewing Will and Jada Smith!” The petition follows the release of Smith’s memoir “Will,” where he delves into his marriage to Pinkett Smith, and his divorce from his first wife, among other oversharing morsels. While Morales didn’t reveal his motivation for starting the petition, those who have signed it have expressed their frustration at the celebrity couple’s tendency to disclose intimate details of their private lives. One user commented: “everything i learn about this couple is against my will. free us”, while another wrote: “Celebrities don’t usually share more information than we’d wanna know, but these two are an exception.” LINK: https://tinyurl.com/bdern5jh

PELOTOT:
It Turns out that no one is safe from Peloton-mania. Toymaker Little Tikes launched its own kid-sized “Pelican” stationary bike for children. Peloton’s popularity among people who would like to get or stay fit without going to the gym apparently prompted Little Tikes to launch its own miniature version in the summer, the “Pelican Explore & Fit Cycle”, aimed at kids ages 3-7. Much like its adult-sized counterpart, it comes complete with a tablet prop, so kids can follow along with Little Tikes’ training videos on YouTube. The very rare child without access to a tablet can take advantage of “just as cool built-in audio adventures,” and a Bluetooth attachment that allows kids to play their favorite tunes and “ride along to the beat.” The description on the Little Tykes website calls the Pelican “a cycling or spin class for kids.” It is currently selling for US $157.99.
(Well, it WOULD be nice for the kids to have a place to hang their dirty clothes starting on Dec. 26…)
(I love my Peloton. And you can’t beat the “buy now, pay later” offer. You buy now, and your knees pay for it later!)
(Have you seen that commercial where the wife is super stoked to get a Peloton for her birthday? Also, does anybody have a couch I could crash on for a few days?)

NEWS OF THE WEIRD:
➢ A bungling mom in England accidentally put her baby up for sale while trying to sell her sofa. Lucy Battle was attempting to upload pics of the couch she wanted to get rid of on a local Facebook group, but accidentally made the main image on the post a picture of her 7-month-old son, Oscar. The mistake was made even worse by the caption, which simply read “need gone today”. Lucy says she “just somehow managed to upload the wrong photo when I was choosing them from my camera roll and unfortunately it was of Oscar!” The good news is that she sold the sofa. The REALLY good news is that she didn’t sell her. (Darn! I was going to offer my teenager as a trade!)
➢ A Michigan woman who turned to a bogus rent-a-hitman website to have an assassin kill her ex-husband has been convicted for solicitation of murder. That’s right, because she thought you can buy pretty much anything on the internet, 52-year-old Wendy Wein found RentAHitman.com and assumed it was a legitimate business where people like her could find professionals to do their dirty work for them. The site promises confidentiality, claims to comply with “HIPPA”, which supposedly stands for the non-existent “Hitman Information Privacy & Protection Act of 1964,” and features testimonies from satisfied customers. It is the brainchild of Bob Innes, who created it as part of an Internet security business that never took off. When he received a message from Wein about having her husband killed, he didn’t hesitate in turning over the info to police. She’s now facing 9 years behind bars. (Right now, I’m totally regretting that email I sent this morning, asking for help in “taking care” of my parents…)

DID YOU KNOW:
The fastest motion your body can make is NOT the blinking of your eye, according to new research. Scientists at Georgia Tech found it takes just 7 milliseconds to snap your fingers — more than 20 times quicker than the blink of an eye! Their experiments showed that human skin produces just enough resistance and compression to create the perfect snap, compared to trials with rubber thimbles and lubricated gloves. The authors say the findings could lead to better prosthetic hands, and more human-like robots. (The fastest motion MY body makes is closing my wallet when someone else says “My round”!)

• “International Day of Persons with Disabilities”, promoted by the UN since 1992. Its objective is to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of those with disabilities. The list of ingredients included: good apples, good spices, figs, raisins, pears, saffron and cofyn, a type of pastry crust. (We’re just glad it didn’t call for BAD apples…or apple pie may never have caught on!)

• “Wear Brown Shoes Day”, for some unknown reason. To get the full effect, make sure you wear ’em with something black. (To get half-effect, wear ONE brown shoe)
