BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
(***UPDATE***) ★ Oh baby, baby—Britney Spears is pregnant! The 40-year-old pop star announced she’s expecting her first child with fiancé Sam Asghari in an Instagram post on Monday. Sharing that she noticed that she had started gaining weight after a recent trip to Maui with the 28-year-old fitness trainer, Spears wrote: “So I got a pregnancy test … and uhhhhh well … I am having a baby.” She’s mom to 16-year old Sean Preston and 15-year-old Jayden James, from her marriage to Kevin Federline.

★ Almost a month after Kylie Jenner announced that her son with Travis Scott’s is no longer named Wolf, she has confirmed that the baby still doesn’t have a new name. Over the weekend, Kylie, along with their 4-year-old daughter Stormi, attended a birthday party for Stormi’s cousin, True Thompson. The Kylie Cosmetics founder showed off the goodie baskets given to both Stormi and “Baby Webster” according to the labels. Webster is the middle name originally given to the baby. Four weeks after welcoming him in February, Jenner wrote on Instagram: “FYI our sons name isn’t Wolf anymore.” When pressed on the issue by Entertainment Tonight, she admitted they “haven’t settled” on a new name yet, but said they do “have some strong options”.

★ ‘Walt’ and ‘Jesse’ are coming back. After years of fielding questions about an appearance by the “Breaking Bad” characters on the prequel series “Better Call Saul,” AMC has confirmed that Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul will be back in some capacity in the upcoming final season. Better Call Saul co-creator Peter Gould first made the announcement on a Paley Fest panel on Saturday. The sixth and final season of “Better Call Saul” premieres April 18, but it is being split into 2 parts, with the second half debuting in July. No word on in which half Cranston and Paul will appear.

★ Vin Diesel just dropped news about the newest “F10” cast member on Instagram. It seems that “Captain Marvel” herself, Brie Larson, will be trading in her superhero outfit for a role in the “Fast & Furious” finale. Diesel posted a selfie of the 2 laughing together, and wrote: “You have no idea how timeless and amazing she will be in our mythology…Welcome to the FAMILY Brie.” Part 1 of the 10th F&F film is scheduled for release on May 19, 2023. ★ Simon Cowell says he looked “like something out of a horror film” after going “a bit too far” with facial fillers. The “Britain’s Got Talent” star has been open about having cosmetic procedures in the past, but now says there is “zero” filler in his face after finally realizing “enough was enough”. In an interview, he said: “I saw a picture of me from ‘before’ the other day, and didn’t recognize it as me first of all.” Cowell said at one point “There was a phase where everyone was having their faces pumped full of this and the other”, but for him now, “a lot of it comes down to healthy eating and drinking tons of water.”

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• The Weeknd — leads the pack for the 2022 Billboard Music Awards with 17 nominations. Other top nominees include: Doja Cat (14), Justin Bieber, Kanye West and Olivia Rodrigo (13 apiece); Drake (11); Dua Lipa and Ed Sheeran (9 each); The Kid LAROI (8); and BTS, Giveon and Taylor Swift (7 each). The Billboard Music Awards are May 15 on NBC and Peacock.
• Camila Cabello – Says making her new album “Familia”, which was released Friday, “saved” her life. On TikTok, she explained that when she started work on it, she was doing poorly as far as mental health is concerned, and the process of making it, “and being vulnerable and being honest about my experiences and leaning on other people changed my life.”
• Julian Lennon — broke his longstanding vow never to perform his father’s iconic song ‘Imagine’ during the “Stand Up For Ukraine” benefit on Saturday in Warsaw. About the cover of his father’s ode for peace, he later wrote on YouTube: “The song reflects the light at the end of the tunnel, that we are all hoping for.”
• Red Hot Chili Peppers — guitarist John Frusciante claims they “saved some of the best stuff” for a follow-up album when making their new record “Unlimited Love”. He says they created 48 songs in all, and used just 17 on their new LP. Quote: “We saved a lot of some of the best stuff for the potential next album, so I’m excited about putting that into a shape.”
• Ozzy Osbourne – has finished work on his new album. He shared a pic on Instagram, with the words: “I’m so happy to let everyone know that I finished my new album this week and delivered it to my label Epic Records.” He says he’ll share more info about it “in the next several weeks.”
• Cole Swindell – says his duet with Lainey Wilson ‘Never Say Never’ is one of the most pivotal singles of his career. He knew it was special when he co-wrote it – but shelved it for years until the right voice came along to sing it with him. Never Say Never is from his new album “Stereotype” that was released Friday (April 8).
• Elle King – When asked if she’s planning any pranks or “tour shenanigans” while on the road with Chris Stapleton, she said: “I’m going to keep my nose clean, I’m going to be on my best behavior, I’m going to say please and thank you, I’m going to absorb as much as I can, I’m going to watch and enjoy the show.” She’s the opening act for the Canadian leg of Stapleton’s tour, beginning April 28 in London ON.
• Willie Nelson – His 4th of July Picnic will return after a 2-year COVID hiatus. The 2022 event at Austin’s new Q2 Stadium will feature Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit, Tyler Childers, Brothers Osborne, Midland, Charley Crockett, Allison Russell, Particle Kid, Steve Earle & the Dukes and Asleep at the Wheel. Oh, and Willie, of course, alongside his family, including sons Micah and Lukas Nelson.
SHOOTING THE BULL
WORDLE-WEARY:
Everybody hates a critic. Because of the fact that it seems lately, nobody can solve Wordle effectively, the New York Times has released a “WordleBot” that gives feedback to players and tells them how they could do better. The problem? People say it’s too “judgey”. According to The Times, “WordleBot is a tool that will take your completed Wordle and analyze it for you”. The online vocab coach, named “Your Daily Wordle Companion” supposedly helps Wordlers by grading their skills in each game, then informs “you at each turn what, if anything, you could have done differently”. It showed up following a flurry of complaints from players who claim the game has become too difficult since it was taken over by the newspaper.
(So, basically, it’s an app that does exactly what my first wife did?)
(It’s getting harder? Well, that explains why none of my friends have been posting their solutions lately!)

THE STUFF THEY THINK OF:
➢ U.K. scientists say they’ve come up with a new technique capable of rewinding the aging of skin cells by about 30 years. Researchers from the Babraham Institute’s epigenetics research program claim that they partly restored the function of older cells, without losing their specialized function. These partially-rejuvenated cells also showed signs of behaving more like youthful cells. They say the research could have implications for regenerative medicine and create cells that are better at healing wounds. (Which is great news for Willie Nelson, who would really like his age spots to look 30 years younger!)
➢ A company claims to have developed the world’s first wearable air conditioning collar. Sure, there are other wearable cooling systems, but they only circulate ambient air. The makers of the Metaura Pro say their product uses a portable cooling solution to produce genuinely cold air that is 18°F (9°C) cooler. It has a small motor linked to a fan at the back, which also dissipates some of that warm air around the neck. The device has a dedicated app and relies on artificial intelligence to regulate air temperature. The Metaura Pro wearable cooling collar is powered by a fast-charging battery that can last up to 8 hours on a charge. (So, if you see a guy who looks like he’s walking down the street with a toilet seat around his neck…)

DIVORCE MATERIAL:
A divorce lawyer is warning about the top 5 professions women should avoid in a husband, based on her experience. TikTok user @jettiegirl28, who goes by “KK”, shared her insights with her 52,000 followers. She says, over the course of her career, she has observed which have been her most difficult cases, “And shockingly, many of them involve men in THESE 5 professions.” What are they? In no particular order, firemen, something she “never really understood”, followed by police officer, military, surgeon, and pilot. And as she points out – oddly, these are all common professions people want to go into when they’re kids. But remember, the lawyer points out, if you are married to someone in one of these jobs, that doesn’t mean your husband necessarily falls into this trend. It’s “just for fun” and “something that I’ve observed as being pretty common.” LINK: https://tinyurl.com/y28b9dya
(If her theory that you shouldn’t marry a guy who works a job that kids commonly aspire to is correct, you’ll also want to avoid cowboys and astronauts! And barbers…What? Just me?)
(Funny enough, my sister has been married to guys in all 5 of these professions – but somehow, I don’t think THEY were the problem!)

MONOPOLY RULES THAT AREN’T:
Here are some common ‘made up’ rules — some of which are so well known they are just assumed to be in the rule book – but aren’t . . .
✗ Taking a lap: In the official rules, it says you can start buying property straight away. You don’t have to go around the board once beforehand.
✗ Free Parking: You know how all the taxes paid go in the middle, and the person who lands on “Free Parking” gets to scoop it up? Yeah, not a rule. The Free Parking square is just that: Free parking. (Like, who DOESN’T do this?)
✗ You can’t earn $$ while in jail: Incorrect. In the official rules, you simply can’t go around the board or buy anything. You can still collect. (I think my brother came up with this one . . . when I landed in jail!)
✗ Landing on “Go”: Some players add an extra incentive for certain squares. For example: You don’t get an extra reward for landing on GO.
✗ Surrendering to the banker: When a player runs out of dough, they’re done. But they shouldn’t give everything back to the bank. The rules state that the loser gives everything to the person they owe money to. That way, their properties don’t come up for grabs again, making the game much quicker.
✗ Auctioning property: This one is a rule that many aren’t aware of…but it’s real. When a property is landed on, and nobody wants to buy it, it goes to auction. This means someone can buy it for less than it’s worth. (That might speed up the game a bit!)
(I’d also like to point out that the rule about me always getting to be the Race Car? That one’s still a thing…)

DID YOU KNOW?
Women who make more money than their husbands still end up doing more housework than their spouse, according to a new study. University of Bath researchers looked into more than 6,000 marriages, and found that despite the fact that traditional division of household chores has been conventionally explained by men earning more and working longer hours, it seems that when the female in the relationship is the main breadwinner, “the more they earned over their partner, the more housework they did.” (In my defense, I do keep the video game console completely dust-free!)
