BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ In a stunning move, the day before closing arguments in the Sean “Diddy” Combs sex trafficking and racketeering case, prosecutors informed the judge they will no longer pursue theories that the hip-hop mogul was involved in attempted arson and attempted kidnapping, according to a letter submitted to the court. The racketeering conspiracy still alleges Combs was involved in transportation for purposes of prostitution, witness tampering, bribery, and drug-related offenses. Prosecutors rested their case Tuesday after calling 34 witnesses. The defense rested without calling any witnesses. Combs chose not to testify in his defense.

★ Brad Pitt has confirmed he’ll be reprising his role as ‘Cliff Booth’ from “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood” in a new film for Netflix. He’ll be back as Booth for the new movie which was written by Tarantino, but will be directed by “Zodiac” filmmaker David Fincher. Shooting starts next month.

SHOOTING THE BULL

CHILL BILLS:
Summer 2025 is turning up the heat—literally. And with temps soaring into the danger zone, air conditioning isn’t just a luxury anymore, it has become a health essential. But what’s the right thermostat setting to stay safe and avoid a sky-high energy bill? Experts say 78°F (25.6°C) is the sweet spot for daytime comfort and energy efficiency. Of course, not everyone agrees — many prefer cooler settings — but setting the temperature a bit higher can cut costs. One idea is to bump it up about 4°F at night. Heading out? Set it 7°F higher to save even more. Some other easy ways to keep cool: close curtains, seal air leaks, avoid cooking with heat, and use fans (with AC, not instead of it). And remember to check on kids, seniors, and anyone vulnerable. If things get too hot, local cooling centers and public spaces can offer relief.
(Sorry, experts, I set mine to “don’t quite give me frostbite, thanks!)
(Energy-efficient? I’m trying to be money-efficient”!)

CHAMPAGNE SHAME:
So tell me: What do you think of people who are rich? Like, Bezos, Zuckerberg – or Musk-rich? It probably depends on where you’re from. A new study found that people in wealthier, more equal countries are more likely to view excessive personal wealth as morally wrong. Researchers from the University of Southern California and UMass Amherst surveyed over 4,300 people across 20 countries. Surprisingly, nations with struggling economies were less likely to judge the ultra-rich harshly — often seeing wealth as a sign of hope or progress. On the other hand, those in countries where their basic needs are met tend to scrutinize extreme wealth more. That’s a nice way of saying they don’t think that the ultra-rich should be so darn rich. The study also found that societies that encourage moral values like fairness and “purity” tend to harbor more negative views toward those with vast fortunes. And that might be where the term “filthy rich” came from.
(Well, I guess I’m safe — morally and financially!)
(I, too, hate billionaires — unless they’re adopting…!)

YOGA GLOW-UP:
Making exaggerated faces in the mirror might seem silly—but welcome to the world of face yoga. Thanks in no small part to TikTok, face yoga has become one of the most discussed above-the-neck sculpting techniques. Instead of downward dogs, think duckfaces and lion’s breath. The idea? Working out your facial muscles can lift, tone, and reduce puffiness without creams, needles, or filters. Some people swear by it, and a 2018 study even saw improved cheek fullness after 20 weeks of daily exercises. Dermatologists explain that strengthening facial muscles could help support fat pads that naturally shift with age—potentially restoring a bit of that youthful shape. Other perks? Experts say that Face Yoga can result in better blood flow, less puffiness — and even stress relief. One instructor calls it “mindfulness for your face”. Is it a full-on facelift alternative? Not quite. But it’s low-risk, free, and might help you feel more connected to the face you’re in. Just go easy on the under-eye area!
(Finally! A workout I can do in bed…)
(I never thought I’d see the day that duckface was medically encouraged!)

DID YOU KNOW?
Could Beethoven’s Fifth be used to treat cancer? Scientists in Brazil once found a mind-blowing connection between music and cancer treatment. A research team exposed both healthy and cancerous cell cultures to different styles of music. When played Beethoven’s ‘Symphony No. 5’, nearly 20% of the cancerous cells were wiped out within a few days, while healthy cells remained completely untouched. Oddly, Mozart’s famously structured ‘Sonata for Two Pianos’ had no noticeable impact at all. The researchers are unsure what’s causing the positive effects, but suspect it is related to specific audio frequencies, rhythmic patterns, or even how the cells physically vibrate in response to the sound. BS CHRONOMETER 06.26.25

TODAY’S BS REASONS TO PARTY . . .
• “Beautician’s Day”, your chance to show your appreciation to those who make you look beautiful. That includes your hairstylist, manicurist, esthetician (and Photoshop…).
• “Chocolate Pudding Day”, celebrating the ooey-gooey dessert most toddlers like to eat … with their hands.
• “Coconut Day”. Fun Fact: Coconuts are not nuts! In fact, they are more closely related to cherries, dates, peaches, apricots and nectarines, which are all a part of the drupe family — a fruit with a hard, stony covering enclosing the seed.
• “Tropical Cocktails Day”. Don’t forget to add a few frilly umbrellas for extra flair!
• “Forgiveness Day”. Has someone wronged you over the past year? Did they do something so bad that it almost seemed unforgivable? Today is for forgiving others, and for being forgiven. If everyone celebrated Forgiveness Day, the world would be a better place.
• “International Day Against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking”, a UN observance established in 1987, with the goal of achieving an international society free of drug abuse.
• “National Canoe Day” in Canada. The canoe has been chosen as one of the ‘Seven Wonders of Canada’. Quote: “A true Canadian is one who can make love in a canoe without tipping.” – Pierre Berton
• “National Handshake Day”. Handshake customs vary in different cultures. In fact, weak handshakes are preferred in some places. A bow, a kiss on the cheek, or a pat on the shoulder may accompany handshakes in some cultures. Grasping the opposite arm while shaking, grasping a hand with both hands, or the shaking of both hands are also part of some handshakes.
