★ In a rare move, People magazine deleted a story from its website last week after it triggered “violent” threats against its subject, actress Olivia Munn, and her family. The story was about Munn’s distaste for children’s television, and bore a headline specifically citing the popular YouTuber Ms. Rachel — which apparently triggered some fans. In a statement, People said: “There is no excuse for these abhorrent attacks, and we will always prioritize safety above all else.”

★ Sacha Baron Cohen can’t put on his ‘Borat’ accent and talk about his wife anymore — because he and his ex-Isla Fisher have officially finalized their divorce. The 2 shared the same statement to their respective Instagram stories Friday, announcing they’ve officially agreed to a settlement more than a year after announcing their estrangement. Baron Cohen and Fisher added that they’re committed to maintaining a friendship and a strong co-parenting relationship for their 3 children.

★ “How to Train Your Dragon” remake has taken off at the box office with a strong $82.5 million domestic opening weekend, and $200 million worldwide. While not at the heights of “Lilo & Stitch,” the remake, starring Mason Thames as the dragon rider ‘Hiccup’, topped the opening weekends of its 3 animated predecessors in the 2010s. Lilo & Stitch came second in its 4th weekend with $15 million, followed by “Materialists,” a romance drama starring Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal, with a take of $12 million domestically.

★ Nick Cannon is taking on a new hosting gig. SHOOTING THE BULL

MONEY CAN’T BUY HAPPINESS – BUT MONEY MANAGEMENT CAN:
If money troubles ate keeping you up at night, you’re probably thinking that if you made more cash, you’d be able to sleep better. Well, according to new research, you’d actually be much more likely to rest easy if you were to develop healthy financial habits. A study tracking 20,000 Australians for more than 2 decades found that those who develop good financial habits — like regular saving and paying off credit cards on time – tend to actually boost their mental wellbeing in measurable ways. It was found that adopting good financial habits can boost mental health scores by nearly half a percentage point—a meaningful improvement that could reduce stress, worry, and sadness. Crucially, the study controlled for income levels, meaning these benefits weren’t simply about having more money. Participants with identical incomes but different financial habits showed markedly different mental health outcomes.

“WE NEED TO TALK” JUST GOT A REBRAND:
Everyone says they want honesty in a relationship, but do we really want “brutal honesty”? It turns out, yes. And the brutal truth might even make your bond stronger. A new study from the University of Rochester found that being upfront with your partner, even about tough topics, leads to better emotional well-being, and greater relationship satisfaction. Researchers brought long-term couples into a lab and asked each person to request a real change from their partner — you know, the kind of conversation most of us dread. They found that when people were more honest (even if the delivery was awkward), both partners actually felt better afterward. Three months later, couples who had those open conversations reported still reported feeling better and noticing positive changes. So, while honesty might feel risky in the moment, it’s actually a long-term win for love.
(Aaaaand finally, science says it’s OK to tell her I can’t stand her mother!)

MILE-HIGH – BUT NO FRIES:
Airline food is getting an upgrade — and it’s not your typical mystery meat. Delta has teamed up with Shake Shack to bring the burger joint’s famous cheeseburgers to first-class passengers on flights over 900 miles. The catch? You’ve got to pre-order it. The burger is made with 100% Angus beef, melty cheese, and served on a toasted potato bun with the works — lettuce, tomato, and that iconic Shack Sauce. No fries yet — but you do get Shake Shack-branded chips, Caesar salad, and a brownie. Delta says getting that signature burger flavor at 35,000 feet took 10 rounds of Research & Development, plus a whole lot of taste tests at Shake Shack’s Innovation Kitchen. The hard work paid off — it’s now the most requested pre-select item onboard. Delta recently expanded the Shake Shack menu to 13 hubs throughout the US.
(Hey, if it’s cheaper than eating at the airport – why not?)

DID YOU KNOW?
According to new research, the average beard contains more germs than some toilets. A report in the Washington Post revealed a dense and diverse microbial population that thrives in facial hair, which is influenced by factors such as temperature, pH, humidity and nutrient availability. Beards create a warm, often moist environment where food debris and oils can accumulate – ideal conditions for microbial growth. Experts recommend washing your beard and face every day, and using a beard comb to clear debris. (So, in theory, it would make sense to wash my beard…in a toilet?)
