BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ The seemingly snake-bit “Fifty Shades of Grey” film has now been delayed another 6 months until Valentines weekend 2015. Universal Pictures is denying that shooting was put back due to Charlie Hunnam dropping out of the male lead, but offers no other reason. Jamie Dornan has since replaced him as ‘Christian Grey’, opposite Dakota Johnson as ‘Anastasia Steele’. The Brit actor is expected to sign up for at least 3 films based on EL James’ books. (What says Valentines Day better than bigscreen bondage?)
– “Entertainment Weekly”
★ Charlie Sheen’s troubled ex-wife Brooke Mueller has been hit with a lawsuit from a former nanny who alleges she is owed overtime wages … $10 million in overtime wages. Norma Lavizzo, who previously took care of Mueller’s kids, is claiming she worked way more than her scheduled 40-hour weeks, but received zero overtime pay. In the suit, Lavizzo alleges she was put on call by Mueller and had to make herself available 24/7. (Was she making 75-grand an hour?)

★ No matter how much the fans and the film stars may want it, Suzanne Collins’ agent says the author has no plans to write a 4th book for “The Hunger Games” series. The screen adaptation of the final book, “Mockingjay”, is being split into 2 films to follow “Catching Fire” (opening November 22nd). Both Jennifer Lawrence (who plays ‘Katniss’) and Elizabeth Banks (who plays ‘Effie’) have made it clear they’d love to do more films, but Collins apparently has no plans to expand beyond the trilogy. (However, if the movie studio wants to buy the rights …)

★ And movie star Sandra Bullock threw interviewers a curveball when she revealed on British morning TV show “Daybreak” that she doesn’t find her “Gravity” co-star George Clooney ‘sexy’. Eager to prove that Bullock’s statement is nonsense, 52-year-old Clooney has hit back by joking that Bullock is so hot on him that she ‘drunk calls’ him every night. Quote: “It’s non-stop. And then I just send her a bottle of tequila.”

NO-COST BOOST:
Need an instant boost of good cheer? The best way to get a shot of feel-good is to cuddle with someone you love. A new London School of Economics study shows that intimate moments with a cherished person or a favorite pet trigger a 14% rise in happiness … more than any other activity. Other effective no-cost mood-lifters? Spending time with friends, gardening, and singing. (Not so good mood-lifters: Staff meetings, dental appointments, finding out someone swiped the last beer in the fridge.)
– “Woman’s World”
JAVA ONBOARD:
Always looking for new places to expand its brand, Starbucks is putting a store … on a train. The first rolls out of Geneva next week, with a fully-branded Starbucks motif on the inside and out and baristas serving up to 50 customers. Starbucks’ train partner is Swiss Federal Railways, the national railway of Switzerland. There are no current plans to expand the concept elsewhere. (Or to reduce the price of a Caramel Macchiato grandé below a hundred bucks.)
– “USA Today”
FLOSS FOR YOUR HEART:
Taking care of your heart means … taking care of your teeth. A new study from NYC’s Columbia University has shown that regular brushing and flossing can prevent the clogging of arteries that could lead to heart attacks and strokes. After 3 years of research, the scientists discovered that eliminating the bacteria build-up on teeth results in a reduction in instances of clogged arteries and hence fewer heart issues. (This is all very interesting but the most exciting part was getting to use the word ‘hence’.)
– “Daily Express”
SQUEEZING OUT HEINZ:
McDonald’s is moving to clear Heinz ketchup out of its system. The fast-food chain says it has started the process of moving to other vendors. McD’s is splitting with Heinz because the former CEO of Burger King has been hired to run the HJ Heinz Co. And he also still serves as vice-chairman of the board of Burger King. (McDonald’s operates more than 34,000 locations around-the-globe … that’s a lot of lost ketchup sales.)

FOR THE RECORD:
UK businessman Kamran Akram has had a MINI Cooper S converted into … a 27-foot-long limousine. He shipped the car to Las Vegas for the $100,000+ makeover, during which mechanics chopped it in half to insert additional segments. As well as TVs and DVD players, this MINI now features a dance floor, disco ball, and champagne fridge. (You can really stretch your legs … but you keep hitting your head on the ceiling.)
