BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Amber Heard’s million-dollar IOU to Johnny Depp has finally been paid, and now, we know exactly where the money’s going: to a group of charities near and dear to his heart. Sources say that in light of the million bucks recently making its way to Depp, which was covered by Heard’s insurance company as part of her settlement following the defamation trial, he plans to split the money evenly among these non-profits: The Make-A-Film Foundation, The Painted Turtle, Red Feather, Tetiaroa Society and the Amazonia Fund Alliance.

★ Ezra Miller made a public showing for the first time in nearly 2 years, attending the Los Angeles premiere of DC Studios’ “The Flash.” The embattled actor spoke openly about misconduct allegations against them and various legal woes, addressing fans and insiders at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Miller received a rockstar welcome from The Flash director Andy Muschietti, and responded by saying: “I love you, maestro. I think you’re amazing, and I think your work is monumental.” They also thanked various film industry execs for their “grace and discernment and care in the context of my life. And in bringing this moment to fruition.” The Flash opens tomorrow in North America.

★ Prince Harry made the journey across the pond from the UK to California recently, and made one flight attendant feel very special. The Duke of Sussex flew to London to testify against Mirror Group Newspapers in their high-profile celebrity phone-hacking case. But on the plane ride back to his current home in Montecito, Harry gifted a cabin crew member, who goes by the alias “Holden Pattern” online, a free copy of his bombshell memoir, “Spare”, and posed for a pic with him. Pattern shared his encounter with Harry on Instagram.

★ Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is one of the co-owners of the XFL, and the league lost a huge amount of money this past season. According to Forbes, the pro football league lost $60 million in the first season since Vince McMahon sold it to a group that includes Johnson and his business partner Dany Garcia. Johnson, however still believes the “league of opportunity” will have financial success, despite the $60 million loss. He told Forbes: “This is not just an endeavor that’s going to fill up a portfolio and one day we flip it and we’re out. This is legacy. This is the long game.” For the 2024 season, the XFL is projected to make $100 million in revenue.

★ In order to film Jocelyn’s big music video scene for episode 2 of “The Idol”, Lily-Rose Depp had to spend “almost” 4 hours in hair. According Christopher Fulton, the head of the hair department of the HBO drama’s production team: “Lily sat for almost 4 hours while all of those extensions were glued into her head because she had to dance for days.” In order to prepare to play the character, Depp had to take singing, dancing and piano lessons.

★ Elliot Page has signed on to star with Hillary Baack in “Close to You.” The new film from “The Escape” writer/director Dominic Savage will see Page play ‘Sam’, who has a fluke encounter with an old friend on his way home to a family reunion, which will force him to confront long-buried memories. • Rod Stewart – plans to stop rockin’ after completing his 2023 touring commitments. • Michael Ray – has dropped the title track of his “Dive Bars & Broken Hearts” EP, out June 23. SHOOTING THE BULL

YOUR WILDEST DREAMS:
Have you had some “really weird” dreams lately? There’s a good reason for it – and you’re not alone. According to Healthline, you can blame the weather. When you’re overheated – even for as little as half an hour – your body can go into “panic mode”, says the website. Your body can react to extreme heat by raising your heart rate, and activating your “stress control centre”. That means that by the time you go to drop off, your body’s already primed for a tussle with something – and once you’re asleep, that “something” can quickly become your own dreams. Healthline says: “Quality of sleep is affected…because heat puts the body in a naturally anxious state. You may find that your dreams become more vivid and more uneasy simply because your body is overheated.” And also, because you wake up more often, you’re more likely to remember those weird dreams for a longer period of time.
(They’re right! I had a REALLY bizarre dream last night. We all got big raises!)
(Why is it that the only dreams I ever remember are the ones that I’d rather forget?)

BOOZE NEWS:
➢ Any amount of alcohol could increase the risk of developing any of more than 60 diseases, according to new research published in the journal Nature Medicine. Oxford University researchers studied the effects of alcohol on men over a period of 10 years, and found that even occasional drinkers are at a higher risk for certain conditions, including more than 30 illnesses not previously linked to alcohol. (Yet, to me, the risk is still better than facing my mother-in-law sober!)
➢ Researchers say that drinking alcohol in moderation may “turn down” stress in the brain, which could, in turn, explain why studies show it benefits the heart. The head of research at  the Cardiovascular Imaging Research Center at Massachusetts General Hospital, noted that after you have a little alcohol, you feel relaxed, and experience a “destressing” response.” They determined that “the brain changes in light to moderate drinkers explained a significant portion of the protective cardiac effects.” But because alcohol also raises the risk of cancer, the researchers aren’t advising people to imbibe. (You know what I DON’T find “destressing”? All the contradictory studies on the health effects of drinking!)

A ‘STREAM’ OF EMOTIONS:
You’ve got to admit – “Forrest Gump” is a feel-good movie. A poll of US adults with streaming subscriptions found that 51% said what they watch has the power to change their mood – and the Tom Hanks movie was one that respondents said that can have a positive effect for the rest of the day. Other feel-good programming included “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” and “Gilmore Girls”. One the other hand, 49% said they can’t watch movies or shows that deal with heavy topics unless they’re “in the right mood” — and some that have the power to turn the viewers’ day from good to bad are “13 Reasons Why”, “Black Mirror” and “Titanic.” 81% of Americans said their mood influences what they watch — and the average person can feel the emotional impact of what they watch for up to 2 hours afterwards. Perhaps surprisingly, men, reported feeling the impact longer than women (144 minutes vs. 96 minutes).
Other results from the study:
• 40% said they feel emotional after watching “Grey’s Anatomy”.
• 65% said they feel happy after watching “Modern Family”.
• 38% said they feel nostalgic after watching “Friends”.
• 31% said they feel stressed after watching “Breaking Bad”.
(And everyone agreed that after watching “The Idol”, they just felt dirty!)
(Me? After watching “American Ninja Warrior”, I just felt dumber!)

OPPOSITES DON’T NECESSARILY ATTRACT:
Rachel DeAlto, the chief dating expert at Match.com, says that when it comes to dating, you might want to ditch the idea that “opposites attract.” She says the reality is that “similarities are what you can build a foundation on”, and there are 3 values in particular that can determine whether a relationship will go long-term. Here they are:
1. Finances: They agree on how they want to spend their money. (And by that, at least in MY  experience, she means that the guy agrees with the woman on how they want to spend their money!)
2. Family: There is a shared vision for how they see their future family, and how they plan to care for them.
3. Lifestyle: They enjoy putting time into the same activities, like travel or exercising. (And going to the garden center every Saturday, apparently!)

DID YOU KNOW?
Despite the incredible popularity of TikTok, a new survey shows it definitely has a way to go among the “under 12” crowd before it becomes the favorite social media platform. An online survey for the “U.S. Precise Advertiser Report: Kids” found that 9 out of 10 kids access content on YouTube versus just 4 in 10 for TikTok. The rest of the top 5, in order, following YouTube and TikTok, are: Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat. (Oddly, “Truth Social”: Not popular with the kiddies!)

• “International Bath Day”, on this date —one week before the start of summer—Archimedes, a Greek scientist and mathematician, was taking a bath when he noticed that the water level rose when he got in, and it occurred to him that the volume of an object could be measured by submerging it in water.
