★ Ryan Reynolds has confirmed he is working with Hugh Jackman and Shawn Levy on an upcoming film away from Marvel. The 3 all worked together on the superhero smash-hit “Deadpool and Wolverine” and now, speaking on a podcast, Reynolds has teased that he is: “spending the year writing. I’m writing a movie for myself, Hugh and Shawn to do that is not Marvel.” Aside from Deadpool and Wolverine, Reynolds worked with Levy on 2021’s “Free Guy” and the sci-fi flick “The Adam Project” in 2022.

★ Dolly Parton wants the royal family to visit Dollywood. The country music legend took over the Tennessee-based theme park in 1986 and is keen for Prince William, his wife Catherine, Princess of Wales, and their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, to fly out to see her. She told Britain’s Closer magazine: “I would absolutely love for them to come to Dollywood, that would be fantastic! The kids could go on all the rides and we would treat them like royalty!” Parton continued, saying “I would give Kate my mashed potatoes – I wouldn’t put on any airs for them….and I’m sure that’s the way they would want it.”

★ Robert Zemeckis has revealed the only way he would revisit the “Back to the Future” franchise is to make a musical version of the first film, but says Universal Pictures has already rejected the idea. The 72-year-old director helmed the film series from its 1985 debut to its conclusion 5 years later. During an appearance on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast, Zemeckis said: “I would like to do the ‘Back to the Future: The Musical’ [movie]…. (I) think that would be great. I floated that out to the folks at Universal. They don’t get it. So, [there’s] nothing I can do.” When asked about another sequel, the director said: “We’ve always felt…‘This was enough’ and that we had to live with it just being the 3 movies.”

★ Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon are taking the title of their next film to heart. They’re set to direct the comedy/horror project “Family Movie” — and star alongside their children, Travis and Sosie Bacon. The film follows an eclectic but tight-knit family of filmmakers who find themselves in a real-life horror movie when a body turns up on the set of their latest low-budget slasher. As the production spirals comically out of control, they realize the way to keep filming is to cover up the murder, by any means necessary.

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Chappell Roan – A resurfaced post proves she’s making her wildest dreams come true. Prior to her “SNL” appearance over the weekend, the 26-year-old shared an old Facebook post she made in 2011, when she wrote: “I am determined to be on SNL.” She also shared pics from the lead-up to the big show, including one of her wearing an eye-popping outfit next to host John Mulaney. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/223juaru
• Pitbull — After teasing it at a concert in September, on Nov. 14, Jon Bon Jovi and Pitbull will release their collab ‘Now or Never’, which is essentially a remix of Bon Jovi‘s classic ‘It’s My Life’. Pitbull performs at the Grammys that night, so you might want to watch for Bon Jovi to join him.
• Britney Spears – is now a jewelry designer. On Instagram over the weekend, she shared an image of pink roses, and revealed her new B Tiny jewelry line, writing: “Delicate extremely different and one of a kind pieces!!! I’m so excited!!! Realizing how cool it is to be an artist that can be passionate in so many different ways!!! B Tiny coming soon!!!”
• The Offspring — Frontman Dexter Holland’s favorite punk band of all time is not one you would have expected. It’s Creedence Clearwater Revival. While guesting on a podcast, he called CCR’s music “very anti authority, anti government, anti war.”
• Oasis — Liam Gallagher says fans will be “blown away” by their new music. After stunning fans earlier this year by announcing a reunion tour, he has now teased that a whole new Oasis album is in the cards. First, he posted in September that a new record is “already finished”. Then, over the weekend, a fan asked: “What do you think of Noel’s new songs he’s written for Oasis?” — and he responded: “Blown away.”
• Sting — will join “The Voice” as a “mega mentor” starting Nov. 11. He’ll be an adviser to Snoop Dogg and Gwen Stefani‘s teams during the knockout rounds. Jennifer Hudson will be the “mega mentor” to Reba McEntire and Michael Bublé‘s teams.
• Shaboozey – After being dethroned for a week, he’s back on the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart with his hit ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’. That marks the 16th week that the song has spent at #1 on the all-genre chart, tying Morgan Wallen’s ‘Last Night’ for the longest-running Hot 100 chart-topper of the 2020s.
• Gabby Barrett — has teamed with musical group The Piano Guys for her rendition of ‘O Come, O Come, Emmanuel’. Out now, the song is the 2nd preview of her Christmas album “Carols and Candlelight”, dropping Friday. Her version of ‘I’ll Be Home for Christmas’ was released in October.
• Keith Urban – During an appearance on Mark Maron’s podcast, he had this to say about the George Jones classic ‘He stopped Loving Her Today’: “It’s one of the greatest songs ever written in country music. What an amazing concept for a song.”
SHOOTING THE BULL
UNDER COVERS:
If one of you or your partner is a “hot sleeper” – or if one of you is always cold, then you know what it’s like trying to keep both of you comfortable in bed overnight. But sleep experts say the solution could be a simple one: Try the Scandinavian sleep method. The what-now? The Scandinavian sleep method involves couples sleeping with separate duvets, one for each of them. James Wilson, who calls himself the Sleep Geek, explained that women are more sensitive to heat when sleeping, as the week before menstruation coincides with a spike in core temperature. And while experts peg the “ideal” sleeping temp to be somewhere in the 63-68°F range, it all comes down to the individual. And that’s why, Wilson said, “Separate duvets not only give a better temperature for sleep but also stop you from fighting over the duvet. Win, win.” By the way, a survey once found that 36% of those with a partner appreciate it when theirs isn’t at home, because they don’t have to share the bed.
(The other 64%? They were just afraid to admit it!)
(…and those people, my friend, don’t have cats. Or a bulldog. Or kids, for that matter!)

AMBITIOUS AMBULANCE:
A company in California has unveiled its new flying ambulance, which it says can reach speeds of up to 288mph (464kph). Jump Aero says its JA1 Pulse has the potential to revolutionize response times, with the aim of reaching emergency scenes within a 50km radius in just 8 minutes. The “spaceship-like” flying ambulance uses electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) technology, which allows it to land in challenging terrains. The company states it can fly one paramedic plus emergency equipment to “unimproved landing zones”, to help medical professionals quickly reach rural emergency scenes with vital life-saving equipment. Jump Aero hopes to have the JA1 Pulse on the market by 2027.
(Wait a minute! Sure, this thing can “fly a paramedic and equipment” to an emergency, but they didn’t say anything about flying the victim out of there!)
(So, basically, this thing will arrive by the time you’re done dialing 911?)

NEW FOOD NEWS:
➢ Subway has introduced a new holiday cookie that’s big enough to stuff a stocking. Double Chocolate Peppermint Footlong Cookies are now available through Dec. 31. And maybe the fact they’re only here for a limited time is a good thing, because the warm treat, giving one gooey bite after another, comes in at a whopping 1,330 calories (more than half the recommended intake for most adults). The holiday treat begins with Subway’s Double Chocolate Cookie dough, loaded with chocolate and white chips, swirled with peppermint extract, and topped with candy cane pieces. The sweet treat is sold in footlong-sized holiday packaging for $5. (A foot long? Well, I guess if they’re that long, at least you can share. Ah, who am I kidding?) LINK: https://tinyurl.com/rsthsja7
➢ Starbucks says it is bringing back hand-written names on cups. Baristas handwriting customers’ names with a Sharpie is part of a strategy to recreate a coffeehouse vibe at Starbucks, said new CEO Brian Niccol. Starbucks also plans to bring back self-serve condiment stations in stores, after removing them at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020. In addition, Starbucks customers will no longer be charged extra for non-dairy milk in their orders, such as soy, oat, almond or coconut milk. (But if you want your name spelled CORRECTLY, well THAT’S gonna cost ya!)

DID YOU KNOW?
A recent study has revealed that grandparents spend an average of about $4,000 a year on their grandchildren. The poll, organized by The Senior List in the US, found that of the 1,200 grandparents surveyed, 10% admitted to giving $10,000 or more per year to their grandchildren. That covers expenditures on gifts, clothing, shoes, entertainment, dining out, vacations, college funds, extracurricular activities, and helping with large purchases. 96% of grandparents support their grandchildren in some capacity, and grandparents being grandparents, this holds true even if doing so puts them at a financial disadvantage. (Hey! That’s MY inheritance they’re spending!)
