BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ There is a theory that “The Big Bang Theory” isn’t done yet. The popular CBS sitcom aired its final episode in May, 12 years after it’s debut, but director Mark Cendrowski says that there is a chance the show could make a comeback within the next few years. He says that he knows fans will ”want to know” what happens to the characters. When pressed for a timeline, Cendrowski said that he’d like to be in involved in a “continuation” of the series in “five years”.
(The way they recycle TV shows these days, it’d be a bigger story if it WASN’T coming back…)

★ “Saved by the Bell” may be coming back. Mario Lopez, who played the hunky ‘AC Slater’ on the show, says that there have been talks about a reboot of the hit 90s sitcom, but obviously, the cast would be long gone from high school. Lopez says that they would have “to be creative with the premise. But it’s fun to think about. And who knows? You never say never.” Lopez added that while everyone is up for it, no storyline has been finalized.

★ Tracy Morgan reportedly paid a bartender to watch his $2 million Bugatti while he had dinner. He didn’t want to risk any harm to his luxurious vehicle while he tucked into a meal at Carmine’s on the Upper West Side of New York over the weekend, so he bribed an employee, who had just come off his shift, to keep an eye on it. Morgan hasn’t had much luck with his Bugatti since he got it in June. Before he’d even taken the dealer plates off, another driver smashed into it.

★ Britney Spears’s new custody agreement scales back the amount of time she gets with her two sons — and that’s just part of the Spears family drama. While the pair had been splitting 50-50 custody, her ex, Kevin Federline, now gets 70 percent custody of the boys, while Spears gets 30 percent. They moved to make the agreement official after an incident that occurred while Spears had the children. Federline filed a police report against Spears’s father, Jamie Spears, on Aug. 25, alleging battery on Sean Preston.

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Ariana Grande — has filed a $10 million-dollar lawsuit against the clothing store Forever 21 after a potential endorsement deal fell apart. She’s accusing the store of infringing on several of her copyrights and trademarks. Grande says Forever 21 launched a “misleading campaign” which made it look like she endorsed the brand.
• Justin Bieber – blames child stardom for him being ”disrespectful to women” and using ”pretty heavy drugs” as a teenager. He says that his whole life was under scrutiny and it got to the point where he considered suicide. Now, he says he is going through the ”best season” of his life after marrying Hailey Baldwin last year.
• Lizzo — has nabbed her first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 with ‘Truth Hurts’. Beyoncé and Jay-Z were spotted watching her performance from the side of the stage at the “Made in America” festival on Sunday night.
• Whitney Houston — A hologram tour featuring her likeness will launch in the UK next year. The new show is the work of Base Entertainment – which has previously pioneered hologram tours featuring Buddy Holly and Roy Orbison.

• Lou Reed – His first expansive book of lyrics, which has been out of print for years, will be reissued on November 7th. “I’ll be Your Mirror: Collected Lyrics” will feature introductions by his widow Laurie Anderson, Martin Scorsese and James Atlas, as well as the lyrics to “Lulu”, Reed’s final studio album, which he recorded with Metallica in 2011.
• Elton John – The U.K.’s Royal Mail has announced a set of stamps celebrating his career. The set, which is now available, features eight album covers chosen by John himself, including “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”, “Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy” and “Honky Chateau”. He’s the first living solo artist to be so honored.
• Dierks Bentley — Honesty might not always be the best policy for him, at least when it comes to fishing in Colorado. After he posted a picture of his impressive catch on Instagram, bragging that he had caught three fish in 30 minutes, and posting a photo, he was given a ticket for $139.50 for fishing without a license.
• Kip Moore – says that while he thought his fourth studio album was ready to go, it turns out he was wrong. He tweeted, “I thought it was finished. But the thing is that I never stopped writing, and now I have fallen in love with some new stuff that I have written.” He assures fans that the album’s release won’t be delayed.
WEIGHT ’TIL I GET HOME:
It turns out that the well-known “Freshman 15” – named after the tendency for first year college and university students to gain weight during their first extended stay away from the nest – should perhaps actually be the “Freshman 8” for the guys and the “Freshman 4” (or “Freshwoman 4”) for the girls. Brock University researchers in St. Catharines, ON conducted a study on weight gain among first-year post-secondary students and found that males tend to gain twice as much weight as females, but even the boys only tend to gain an average of about 8 pounds during their first year away. Why do the guys gain more than the girls? Researchers didn’t study that too much, but one theory is that female students are better prepared than males to take on the task of proper food preparation when they move away to school.
(So, it has nothing to do with guys’ tendency to drink copious amounts of calorie-laden beer several times a week, and add a fourth meal of pizza and chicken wings every night at midnight?)
(Gain 8 pounds? That’s an average. I’m happy to report that I was one of the students who took up the slack for the ones who didn’t gain anything!)
(I knew I had gained weight when I went home for Christmas and my Mom had to let out the shower curtain!)

PICK-UP ARTIST:
You know the feeling. You pick up a cuddly cat, and the next thing you know, you’re treated to a flurry of hisses, claws, and more than a few scratches. Well, Dr. Burstyn, who is known as the “Helpful Vancouver Vet”, says that he knows the proper way to pick up a cat, and he is willing to share. He says that first, you need to accept the fact that cats don’t mind being squished a bit. It makes them feel comfortable and secure, and minimizes the risk of them squirming and doing that hiss and claw thing. Dr. Burstyn says that cats, like babies, need proper support when they’re being held. So, when lifting them up, make sure to use your hands and forearm to support their belly, and squish them up against your side for extra security. As a vet, he also approves of what he calls the “football carry” when you need to pick up and transport a cat quickly. To do that, put one hand on the stomach, one hand on the butt, and tuck Mr. Whiskers into your side like a football. Again, that move is only for a “quick cat-carry”.
(Or a quick trip to the Emergency Room!)
(I’m curious as to why one would need to “quickly transport a cat” using the ‘football carry’. When it runs onto a football field?)
(So instead of “hugging a vet”, this is a vet hugging a cat!)

BEYOND BEYOND MEAT:
A vegan diet might be good for your physical health. But it might “dumb down” future kids, according to a nutritional expert. Writing in the health journal “BMJ Nutrition, Prevention & Health”, Dr. Emma Derbyshire says a plant-based diet lacks choline, which is a key nutrient for mental development. Choline is mainly found in beef, eggs, dairy, fish and chicken. Dr. Derbyshire says that studies suggest low levels in pregnancy can harm the fetus and raise the child’s risk of memory and brainpower problems. Nutritionists say that nine in ten adults are lacking in choline and that will worsen as more people decide to eliminate meat and eggs from their diet.
(But I see huge potential in the market for “choline supplements”!)
(Great. Now we need an alternative for alternative meat.)

BEST FOODS FOR WEIGHT LOSS:
Not necessarily the lowest-calorie foods, but the foods named “most satiating”, according to researchers at Quebec’s Laval University…
➠ Water-rich fruits and vegetables: This can include soup and salad, which you should eat every day. The water-rich broth of soup will signal fullness. (Right after I dunk this 8th slice of bread…)
➠ Hot peppers: The capsaicin-rich vegetables have been shown to both boost metabolism and prevent future overeating. Hot sauce may have the same effect. (And it will definitely help you to fill up on water!)
➠ Oatmeal: Oats use water weight to trick you into feeling satisfied. They hold onto water and literally fill us up. (For a while…and then…)
➠ Eggs: A study showed that overweight women consumed less food for a full day after they ate foods with eggs. So, add a few egg recipes to your menu. And don’t forget to douse with pepper-rich hot sauce for extra weight-loss benefits.
➠ Avocados: Don’t skimp on unprocessed fats. Avocados bring healthy-fat benefits and add creaminess to a meal. The fat also helps to slow the release of sugar into the blood, which can head off a post-meal crash. (I would, if I could only time my dinner to be ready during that 3-minute window when the avocado is ripe!)

DID YOU KNOW?
Dogs sniff good smells with their left nostril. They usually start sniffing with their right nostril, then keep it there if the smell could signal danger, but they’ll shift to the left side for something pleasant, like food or a mating partner.
