BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
✳ Meredith Vieira (ex-“Today”, ex-“60 Minutes”, ex-“The View”, ex-“Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”) will become the latest to attempt a daytime TV talk show. NBC Universal will syndicate “The Meredith Vieira Show” to local stations starting in September 2014. The program will combine a mix of celebrities and human-interest segments with everyday people. It will be taped in NYC on a set that resembles Vieira’s real-life home, with her actual furniture and family photos. (Can she succeed where Anderson Cooper, Jeff Probst, Katie Couric, and Ricki Lake did not?)
– NBC News
✳ Justin Bieber has undoubtedly infuriated janitors everywhere after a video showing the pop star relieving himself into a mop bucket has … um … leaked online. The video, recorded by one of his friends in NYC earlier this year, shows the pop star from behind, leaning over a bucket to pee while on his way out of a nightclub’s kitchen. (You must admit, when it comes to finding new ways to screw up his reputation … the guy is creative!)
– QMI Agency
✳ Tara Costa, who appeared on NBC-TV’s “The Biggest Loser: Couples 2” and lost 155 lbs in the process is being sued by a fitness company, which claims she’s violated a business agreement. Among the gripes in a lawsuit filed in Florida: Costa has gained too much weight to make personal appearances on behalf of the company. The suit alleges that violates a clause in the contract in which Costa “agrees to maintain her current level of fitness and conditioning” during the entire length of the agreement. (Dieting … it never works.)

✳ And 38-year-old Leonardo DiCaprio’s current Victoria’s Secret model girlfriend, Toni Garrn, just turned 21 on Sunday (she’s legal!). Toni celebrated with her model posse at Leo’s house in the Hollywood Hills. A few of her friends tweeted photos of the bash, which DiCaprio’s camp has since asked social networks to remove, even though Leo’s not in any of them. He’s notoriously private and it’s rare to get shots from inside his home. As an indication of the pull this guy has, here we are a few days later … and the pics have all disappeared. (Like this one: photo #1; and this one: photo #2; and this: photo #3. Impressive!)

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Beyoncé – She ordered 150 po’ boy sandwiches for her entourage from the legendary Parkway Bakery after her show at the Superdome in New Orleans LA. The restaurant doesn’t deliver but staff made an exception. In fact, a police escort was arranged for the grub.
• Jay-Z – He’s asked musician/vinyl record store-owner Jack White to create a unique vinyl version of a bonus track called “Open Letter” for a deluxe version of his new album “Magna Carta Holy Grail”. Fans will be able to open an enclosed letter and play the inserted card like a vinyl record.
• Jonas Bros – 25-year-old Kevin Jonas wed former hairdresser Danielle Deleasa in 2009 and now they’ve announced they are expecting their first child. Jonas is currently in the midst of a Summer tour with his bandmate brothers Nick and Joe.
• Kacey Musgraves – She sings the vocals on the newest Oreo cookies ad, called “Daydream”.
• Ke$ha – While she isn’t shy on-camera, her brother Lagan Sebert, who filmed her MTV reality show “My Crazy Beautiful Life”, is a little more reserved. So whenever she talked about anything he was likely to be uncomfortable with, she’d first shout out: “Lagan earmuffs!”
• One Direction – Niall Horan found out his Twitter.com account had been hacked this week after fans made “Niall change your password” one of the top trending topics Tuesday. The hacker had accessed his account and was sending out bizarre messages.
• Will.i.am – He’s moved his Music Group record label to Britain because he likes the place and finds it ‘fresh’. The Black Eyed Peas frontman has been living in London while serving as a judge on “The Voice UK”. His label is also home to Fergie, LMFAO, and Macy Gray.
• Willie Nelson – The 80-year-old singer is fronting designer John Varvatos’s Autumn/Winter 2013 ad campaign. His 2 musician sons, Micah and Lukas, will also appear.

COMING ATTRACTIONS:
A BS selection of movies in the making …
“Cinderella” – Stellan Skarsgard (“Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”) is in talks to star as the ‘Grand Duke’ in Disney’s upcoming live action version of the classic fairytale. Director Kenneth Branagh already has a stellar lineup that includes Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, and “Downton Abbey” actress Lily James in the lead role. Shooting begins in September.
“Never Tear Us Apart: The Untold Story of INXS” – This 2-part British TV bio-film began shooting in June. Singer Kylie Minogue’s management has since stepped in to tone down a scene between her (portrayed by Samantha Jade) and late INXS frontman Michael Hutchence (actor Luke Arnold), which would have depicted them joining the ‘Mile High Club’.
“The Sound & The Fury” – 35-year-old “Spring Breakers” actor James Franco is planning to adapt William Faulkner’s 1929 novel about Southern aristocrats who fall on hard times. Franco will star and direct, and he’s looking for “Mad Men” star John Hamm and Danny McBride (“Eastbound & Down”) to join the cast. It’s hoped shooting can begin as early as this Fall.
“The Sword” – This bigscreen adaptation of the Luna Brothers’ graphic novel of the same name is due in 2015. The story centers around a paraplegic college student who, after her family is massacred, is left to fend for herself in a burning house. It’s there she discovers a sword that gives her incredible powers, enabling her to set out on a journey to seek revenge.
“Trash” – This Third World drama is about 3 homeless orphan boys who, while sifting through a trash heap in search of things to sell, stumble across a  bag containing a wallet, a map, and a key. That sets them off on an adventure, with an NGO worker (Rooney Mara) and a priest (Martin Sheen) helping them along the way. Production begins in Rio de Janeiro next month.

PICTURE THIS:
Drawing comfort food – but not eating it – can drastically improve our moods, according to a new study. In experiments, researchers at St Bonaventure University in Allegany NY had overweight people in their early 20s sketch different foods on an empty stomach for 5 minutes. Drawing high-fat pizzas boosted their moods by 28%. Doodling high-sugar cupcakes raised spirits by 27%. By comparison, drawing low-fat, low-sugar bell peppers caused only a 1% improvement in emotional state. (Wanna get high? Doodle any of the items in the story below.)

EXTREME EATS:
Real items from fast-food menus that are guaranteed to torpedo any diet …
✗ Bacon Milkshake – Jack In the Box rolled out this frothy concoction of vanilla ice cream, bacon-flavor syrup, whipped topping, and a cherry last year. Despite the name, there’s no real bacon.
✗ ‘Clogger Burger’ – Universal Studios’ Krusty Burger, based on the long-running satire of fast-food chains on “The Simpsons”, now offers this aptly-named sandwich from the sitcom: 2 burger patties, bacon, secret sauce, cheese sauce, tomato, and lettuce on a bun.
✗ ‘Hot Dog-Stuffed Crust Pizza’ – Pizza Hut UK has mastered the feat of cooking a hot dog into your pizza crust. It comes with a ‘mustard drizzle’. So far, there are no plans to export the concoction.
✗ ‘Peanut Butter & Bacon Shake’ – As part of its ‘2013 Summer of Shakes’, the Sonic fast-food chain is offering this mixture of peanut butter and real bacon, topped with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry.
✗ ‘The Walking Ched’ – The specialty at Iowa burger joint Zombie Burger is a double cheeseburger with bacon, cheddar cheese, caramelized & raw onions, and mayo, sandwiched between ‘buns’ made of … deep-fried mac & cheese.

THINGS YOU SHOULD NEVER DO AT YOUR INTERNSHIP:
Internships can turn into job offers. So don’t let a great opportunity slip through your fingers by making one of these crucial mistakes …
• Showing up late and/or missing deadlines. Doing these things signals that you are irresponsible, undependable, and don’t care about your work.
• Ignoring company culture. If you don’t look around the office and observe common practices, you’ll be unable to sync your work habits with those the employer values.
• Declining invitations to company functions. You’ll miss being perceived as part of the team and also the chance to meet upper-level managers you normally wouldn’t interact with.
• Never asking for feedback. If you don’t ask questions about your performance, how will your supervisor get the idea you’re someone who is seeking to grow and improve?
• Not expressing gratitude. If you don’t send a thank-you note at the end of your internship to everyone who assisted you throughout the process, you’ll miss one more way to impress.

DID YOU KNOW?
• In Iceland, 96% of women go to university.
• Queen Elizabeth II has no British passport. As the person who officially issues them, she is exempt.
