BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Erin Andrews is hosting a new show. The Fox Sports sideline reporter revealed she’s currently filming Fox’s new game show “99 to Beat”. It marks Andrews’ first hosting gig since being fired from “Dancing With the Stars” in 2020. ABC unloaded her and longtime host Tom Bergeron ahead of Season 29, before eventually being replaced by Tyra Banks. Andrews indicated she’ll be hosting 99 To Beat, which is expected to premiere during the 2025-26 season, with Ken Jeong.

★ Disney’s “Lilo & Stitch” danced circles around “From the World of John Wick: Ballerina” at the domestic box office. The live-action blockbuster topped the chart for the 3rd consecutive weekend with $33 million, after clearing the $300 million milestone on Thursday. That puts Lilo & Stitch over $650 million globally. Ballerina, the first John Wick spinoff, was projected to finish second with a softer-than-expected $25 million.

★ It’s the end of the road for “Alert: Missing Persons Unit” and “The Cleaning Lady.” Fox has opted not to renew either series, it announced on Friday, meaning Missing Persons Unit ended with its third season and “The Cleaning Lady” with its 4th. The news comes just after both shows aired what turned out to be their series finales. Missing Persons Unit wrapped up on May 27, while The Cleaning Lady aired its Season 4 finale on June 3.

★ A VR game based on Marvel’s “Deadpool” franchise is set to launch later this year — with Neil Patrick Harris voicing the ‘Merc with a Mouth’. It features a new story focused around the MCU character portrayed by Ryan Reynolds in the R-rated blockbuster films. “Marvel’s Deadpool VR” will launch in late 2025 for Meta Quest 3 and 3S VR devices.

★ Samuel L. Jackson didn’t exactly know what he was getting into when he agreed to be a part of Kendrick Lamar‘s Super Bowl Halftime Show. On the “Mad Sad Bad” podcast, he used some of his signature…uh…colorful language as he talked about his turn as Uncle Sam during the Super Bowl earlier this year, telling host Paloma Faith: “I didn’t know what they were doing. It was kinda trippy because it wasn’t until dress rehearsal…when I looked up and I looked on that stage and I go, ‘Oh (***bleep***), that’s a flag. Ah, (***bleep***), we’re being revolutionaries.’ Because I wasn’t listening or paying attention.”

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Sabrina Carpenter – Friday she dropped the hilarious music video for ‘Manchild’, a day after the song’s release. In it, she travels all over the American West by hitching rides with a diverse crop of rather ‘Stupid, Slow & Useless’ Men, who have in common their propensities for odd modes of transportation and an inability to get her where she needs to go. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/5xndwjpc
• Beyoncé – Her “Cowboy Carter” tour is bringing major yeehaw energy — maybe a little too much — because some fans were caught in the middle of a saloon-style brawl at her London show. In another Wild West scenario, fans fought just feet from the stage at a show in Chicago, and others got into a heated altercation in the VIP lounge in Los Angeles.
• Mariah Carey — is officially back. Friday, she released ‘Type Dangerous’ the new song she’d been teasing for several days. It samples the hip-hop classic ‘Eric B. Is President’ by Eric B. & Rakim. It is the lead single off her 16th studio album. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/yrccephy
• Bush – has released the new song ‘The Land of Milk and Honey’ from their forthcoming 10th studio album “I Beat Loneliness”. Gavin Rossdale calls the song “a wild ride into the heart of the new record…built to be played loud—to liberate and uplift.” The album drops July 18. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/mwty6v3r
• Triumph – bassist Mike Levine missed the group’s 3-song reunion performance ahead of the NHL Stanley Cup final game in Edmonton on Friday because he had an appointment in Toronto with a specialist and had been “waiting for 4 months to see this guy”. Rik Emmett and Gil Moore were joined onstage by guitarist Phil X and 2 members of Slash Ft. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators.
• Oasis – Fans are being invited to share their stories about an Oasis song for the “Oasis Live ’25 Tour” film. A post on www.oasis-film.com reads: “We are asking people all over the world if there is a particular Oasis song that has deep meaning for you…that tells the story of a life changing moment, a love, a loss, a heartbreak, or a break for freedom.”
• Tim McGraw – His daughter and Willie Nelson’s son have unveiled a love song they started working on a long time ago. Audrey McGraw — McGraw and Faith Hill’s youngest daughter — shared a performance video of the song ‘Descent Into Love’ with Lukas Nelson, and said she can’t wait to release a recorded version. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/3jwas4fh
• Vince Gill — has announced a new residency at the Ryman Auditorium, running August 7-9 and 15-16. The Ryman is the original home of the Grand Ole Opry. Gill has most recently been performing with the Eagles at their Vegas residency.
• Jelly Roll — is so stoked about being on the road with Post Malone, that he sent him a thank-you note — via Instagram — while there are still a string of dates left their “Big A** Stadium Tour” together. Jelly wrote: “Dear Austin, I say this on stage in some way every night, but man, being on this tour with you has been unreal. I have never had more fun in my life. The energy of the people is incredible.” LINK: https://tinyurl.com/4248rahd
SHOOTING THE BULL
DEVICE DEBATE:
When it comes to hiring, Indeed CEO Chris Hyams isn’t into asking the usual interview questions. Instead, he’s been asking one simple thing for the past 15 years: “Apple or Android?” It might sound like a casual icebreaker, but it’s actually his way of digging deeper. For him, it’s not about picking the “right” answer (or even the right phone, for that matter) — it’s about how job candidates think, explain their choices, and share a bit about themselves in the process. After asking the “Apple or Android” questions, Hyams says what follows is usually a 15-minute conversation that gives him insight into how people make decisions. By the way, most candidates say iPhone, often because they were put on a family plan while in high school. Others talk about the apps they love — or even what they’d change about the platforms — and that’s where he says it gets interesting. For Hyams, it’s not just about phones. It’s about curiosity, adaptability, and how someone thinks through long-term choices. So remember that next time you’re meeting a potential employer, and they start with what at first seems like a casual, off the cuff question…
(Great — now I need a résumé AND a phone debate strategy!)

BANANA MANNERS:
Who knew? We’ve been eating bananas wrong the whole time. That’s according to Britain’s top etiquette expert, William Hanson. In a video that’s now gone viral, he insists the only “proper” way to eat a banana is with a knife and fork. Yup, really. In the clip, he says: “No, we don’t pick it up and peel it like a primate”, while demonstrating how to slice off each end, score the skin, peel it back, and daintily eat it with utensils — like it’s a fancy filet. Naturally, the internet had thoughts. One person joked: “Bruh, you offended the entire world.” Another asked: “Can you also show us how to eat a coconut with cutlery?” Hanson’s banana advice follows his previous tips, which include cutting grapes off the bunch with scissors, instead of plucking them. Because apparently, even fruit needs a formal invitation. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/3ycsr2p9
(At this point, I’m just waiting for him to tell me how I’m eating Tic Tacs wrong!)
(Sorry, buddy: If I need cutlery to eat something, it had better be cake!)

GRIPE HYPE:
You know that “pit in the bottom of your stomach” feeling you get when you spot someone you really don’t want to talk to, heading your way? You instantly consider hiding behind a bush or pretending to get a phone call. And you’re not alone. A new Talker Research survey says that’s actually the top tiny stress trigger — 46% of people agree. Right behind it in the list of things that drive people up the wall? That knock at the door when you’re not expecting guests (44%). Because nothing sends panic through your body like a surprise visitor when you’re in yesterday’s hoodie and haven’t cleaned a thing. Other top irritations include people talking to you when you just want peace and quiet (43%), slow Wi-Fi (40%), and unexpected phone calls (35%) – for many, that’s the WORST jump scare. And of course, some other sound offenders made the list: loud chewing (40%) and heavy breathing nearby (25%) are enough to make anyone snap. To cope? Most said they turn to music (58%), breathing exercises (34%), or pet cuddles (32%).
(If you call me without texting first, we’re enemies now!)
(I chew loudly so others will leave. It’s self-care!)

DID YOU KNOW?
While we’ve been going all-in on fad diets and weight-loss drugs, a company in Japan has developed “a fizzy drink that morphs into jelly once it hits your stomach, making you feel full without piling on calories.” The drink, named “In Tansan”, uses a chemical reaction with your stomach acid to solidify into a jelly-like blob that traps carbonation — and fills you up. A news outlet reported that the drink keeps hunger away for about 2 hours. The texture is said to be “a little strange, like a slippery liquid with a jelly twist”. (Haven’t we had these, like, forever, but we call them “Jell-O shots”?)
