Filming on Dune: Part Three is set to begin, with Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya reprising their roles. Jason Momoa has also confirmed he’ll return for Part Three, after featuring in the first “Dune” but not in “Part Two.”

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Jessie J – announced that she’s “OK” in her breast cancer battle in a new IG post. She wrote: “And…I AM OK. Results = I have NO cancer spread. Happy tears are real. Thank YOU for the prayers, the love, the well wishes, the joy and all the positive energy.” She also posted a vid of her 2-year-old son, Sky, telling the world that his mom is going to be OK. • Sabrina Carpenter — After sparking controversy with her “Man’s Best Friend” album cover, Tuesday, she unveiled another version of the LP’s artwork for an exclusive vinyl release — available for a limited time. It features Carpenter modeling lingerie and lounging in a room while surrounded by flowers, presumably sent to her by suitors. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/4982ha2r
• Backstreet Boys — are gearing up for their Sphere residency and “Millennium 2.0” album release with the new immersive fan experience, Backstreet Boys Terminal at the Venetian Resort Vegas. The airport-themed experience features interactive photo ops, luxury airport-style lounges, and most impressively, a full replica of MTV’s Total Request Live studio where BSB made their mark in the late ‘90s. It opens today. • Iron Maiden – The UK Royal Mint has announced that they will be honored with a commemorative coin celebrating the band’s 50th anniversary. That puts them in rarified company with acts like Queen, Elton John and David Bowie.
• Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne – not only put on a historic concert for their final performance, Saturday’s Back to the Beginning show raised nearly $200 million for 3 charities, according to Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello, music director for the all-day event. The organizations receiving the funds are Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice.
• Mötley Crüe and Dolly Parton — After teaming up on a remake of Crüe’s ballad ‘Home Sweet Home’, the new version has soared to #1 on the Mediabase Classic Rock Songs chart. The song celebrates the 40th anniversary of the original song from Mötley Crüe’s “Theatre of Pain” album.
• Chris Young — will release his 10th studio album “I Didn’t Come Here to Leave,” on Oct. 17. That will coincide with the 8th anniversary of his induction to the Grand Ole Opry. The record contains 14 songs, including 11 co-writes. He just dropped the title track with a lyric vid. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/4vs5wf7r
• Luke Bryan – recently received a call from “Duck Dynasty’s” Willie Robertson, asking him to give some musical advice to his son Will, who is preparing to launch a music career of his own. According to Will, his dad and Bryan “have been friends for a very long time”, and “then Luke joined my dad’s Buck Commander team as one of the buckmen, so they hunt a lot together.”
• Post Malone and Jelly Roll – will tour together again in 2026. During his San Francisco tour stop, Posty introduced Jelly for their live rendition of ‘Losers, by saying: “Ladies and gentleman, the label sent me a long, long list of names (to collab with). I knew in the bottom of my heart there was only one (BLEEP) I want to do this with. And I learned as of a couple of days ago that we get to go out and do this (bleep) next (bleeping) summer too, ladies and gentlemen!”
SHOOTING THE BULL
CEREAL OFFENDER:
Well… this is a breakfast plot twist. Cinnamon Toast Crunch just dropped a bacon-flavored cereal — and yep, it’s exactly what it sounds like. Teaming up with Hormel Black Label, the new limited-edition snack mixes sweet Cinnadust with smoky bacon vibes, all packed into crunchy cereal squares. It launched this week, only on Walmart.com, for $5.84. If you’re thinking “why?” — you’re not alone. Social media is very divided. Some people are dying to try it, while others are gagging at the idea of “cinnamon hot dog cereal.” Still, this isn’t their first rodeo — last year they dropped Cinnamon Toast Crunch-flavored bacon. Now it’s flipped: bacon in your cereal. Sweet? Savory? Snackable? Strange? All of the above. Try it by the bowl, bag, or even by the handful — if you dare.
(Sounds gross — but hey, if it’s got bacon, how bad could it be?)
(Still — if you put enough maple syrup on it…)

SAY HI, WITH NO WI-FI:
Imagine a messaging app that doesn’t need Wi-Fi, cell service, or even your phone number. That’s exactly what Jack Dorsey just built. The Twitter co-founder spent the long weekend creating Bitchat, a peer-to-peer messaging app that works completely over Bluetooth. No servers. No accounts. No internet. Just your phone talking directly to others nearby. The messages are encrypted, they vanish after a while, and never leave your device — perfect for people who care about privacy, or want to stay connected during outages or blackouts. The app, described as being like WhatsApp — if WhatsApp didn’t report to a tech giant and worked off-grid — is now in beta on TestFlight, with future updates planned to add WiFi Direct for faster, longer-range messaging. Word is that Dorsey’s new creation could become the next big thing in decentralized communication.
(…and it’ll be awesome for a while, then Elon Musk will buy it and wreck it!)
(His “weekend project” is waaay more impressive than mine, which involved assembling a shed that leans – a 12-pack, and a sunburn!)

KICKIN’ IT OLD SCHOOL — LITERALLY:
There’s a new twist on the beautiful game — and it’s all about slowing things down. “Walking soccer” is catching on as a surprisingly fun and competitive way for older adults to stay in the game without the high-impact wear and tear. Think soccer, but with no running, smaller goals, and a strict “one foot on the ground” rule. In Toronto, the Loons — the city’s first walking soccer club — are leading the charge. Every Thursday, players 50 and up gather at Cherry Beach to stretch, scrimmage, and sweat (but slower). The sport has roots in England, but now it’s gaining ground in Canada, with programs across 6 provinces and even a national team heading to the Walking Football World Cup.
(It’s like lawn bowling – but with less exertion!)
(Finally, a sport where my speed is an asset.)

FRUGAL RULES:
A recent BuzzFeed thread started with the question: “If you grew up poor but now have money, tell us the “frugal” habits you still do to this day to save.” Here are some of the best, most honest answers…
☞ “I use paper towels to dry my hands, and then fold them to save for cleaning up after the cats! I don’t have to feel guilty about wasting the paper.”
☞ “I have plenty of money now, but I still buy a lot of my clothes, shoes, and accessories on eBay and the RealReal. Why pay full price?”
☞ “Cut cream bottles, etc, to use every little last bit of the product..”
☞ “(I) have a drawer for disposable silverware, napkins, and condiments I get with to-go orders. You never know when you may run out or need one.”
☞ “The first thing I look at on a menu is the prices. Growing up, I was conditioned to order the cheapest thing, and always something cheaper than what the host was getting.” (Same, lady, same…!)
☞ “Why would anybody spend money on Tupperware when you can reuse yogurt/sour cream/cottage cheese containers?”
☞ “Washing out the plastic bags.” (There’s frugal – and then there’s cheap!)
☞ “I still refuse to pay anything extra when it comes to airfare. $50 to choose my seat? Guess I’ll be in the middle then, with the snacks I brought from home in my bag.”

DID YOU KNOW?
In the UAE, a mountain highway has been turned into a musical experience — literally. On a stretch of the E84 highway heading into Fujairah, rumble strips in the right lane play Beethoven’s ‘Ninth Symphony’ as you drive over them. It amounts to about one kilometer of classical music under your tires. The idea isn’t just for fun — it’s part of an art project called the “Street of Music,” and while similar projects exist in other countries, Fujairah wanted one of its own. The rumble strip initially looks like a larger version of the dash lines separating the 3-lane highway, until you hit the first block, and the grooves of the road combine with the speed of the vehicle to make music. (Warning: May cause spontaneous “air conducting”.)

• “Don’t Step on a Bee Day”, a warning that now is the time when going barefoot can mean getting stung by a bee. And with increasing concern for the well-being of the crop-pollinating critters, EVERY day should be Don’t Step on a Bee Day. (And if your porch is near a hive…also don’t ‘be on a step’!)
• “Teddy Bears’ Picnic Day”, an annual excuse to have a picnic with your stuffed animals. (Why? “Because today’s the day the Teddy Bears have their pic–nic!”) ‘Teddy Bears’ Picnic’ was originally a song consisting of a 1907 melody by US composer John Walter Bratton, with lyrics added in 1932 by Irish songwriter Jimmy Kennedy.
