★Caitlyn Jenner says she can’t imagine ever having sex with a woman again.  The 67-year-old transitioned from her former identity of Bruce Jenner to Caitlyn in 2015, and insisted at the time that despite deciding to live her life as a woman, she remained entirely heterosexual, adding: “I’ve never been with a guy.”

★Katherine Heigl says that she considered quitting Hollywood after rumors of her difficult reputation began.  She hit the headlines after starring in the 2007 comedy Knocked Up, where she played a TV host who has her world turned upside down when she becomes pregnant after a one-night stand with Seth Rogen’s stoner character Ben.  Katherine later upset Rogen and the film’s director Judd Apatow when she called the comedy film “a little sexist”, telling Vanity Fair back in 2008: “it was hard for me to love the movie.”

★Richard Simmons has been hospitalized.  His rep has issued a statement saying, “After a few days of battling severe indigestion and discomfort while eating, we agreed it was best for him to seek treatment.”  The 68-year-old fitness guru is “already feeling better and is expected to make a full recovery.”  Simmons’ management has previously denied allegations that his housekeeper  is holding the elusive star hostage in his Hollywood Hills mansion. He also slammed rumors that Simmons has transitioned to female.

★Apparently being the daughter of a mutimillionaire media tycoon isn’t enough to save you from financial dire straits.  The IRS has emptied bank accounts belonging to Tori Spelling and her husband, Dean McDermott.  In July 2016, it was reported that the couple — who had their fifth child in March — were slammed with a federal tax lien for $707,487.30 in unpaid federal taxes for their 2014 bill alone.  Meanwhile, the paper reported that McDermott’s ex-wife, Mary Jo Eustace, is threatening him with jail over unpaid child support for their 18-year-old son, Jack. During a court hearing over the child support in March, McDermott told a judge that he had “fallen on hard times.”

★The Ellen DeGeneres Show has arranged a special tribute to its host’s most important episode of television.  The talk show will dedicate its entire April 28 hourlong episode with a special star-studded tribute to the April 30, 1997, “The Puppy Episode” of her former sitcom Ellen.  The two-part episode aired 20 years ago and helped usher in a more inclusive era of television. It featured DeGeneres’ character coming out as gay and aired in tandem with the comedian-turned-actor-turned-host’s personal coming-out as well.  The Ellen DeGeneres Show will celebrate the milestone with a reunion with special guest stars Oprah Winfrey and Laura Dern joining castmembers Joely Fisher, Clea Lewis and David Anthony Higgins.

★Prince Harry can’t wait to be a father. The fifth-in-line to the throne, who is currently in a relationship with Suits actress Meghan Markle, says that he has a lot of practice as a godfather to ‘5 or 6 kids’. When asked if he thought he was a good godfather, he said: “I’d like to think so. But I think the key to that is to grow up, but also to be able to stay in touch with your childhood side. If that means going to someone’s house and sitting there and playing PlayStation and kicking the ass of their son on or whatever it is, then I’ll try and do that. I’ve actually had a lot of practice for that.”
(I think he missed the part where he mentioned ‘growing up’ first…)

BS MUSIC NOTES:
•Kid Rock – He had an on-again, off-again marriage to Pamela Anderson that ended when they filed for divorce in 2007. Now it looks like Kid is ready to walk down the aisle again.  According to reports, the 46-year-old rock star popped the question to longtime love Audrey Berry with a large oval-cut diamond ring.
•Harry Styles – Although the success of his boy band One Direction turned him into a global star, he hasn’t done many interviews. The newest issue of Rolling Stone, however, features a lengthy cover story on Styles, and the discussion gets into his short-lived 2012 romance with Taylor Swift. At least two Swift songs, “Style” and “Out of the Woods,” have long been rumored to be about that relationship.  Styles says he isn’t sure if they are about him or not, but ‘they’re bloody everywhere’. (translation: ‘They’re about me.’)
•Lana Del Rey – She spent the weekend at Coachella, but she came out of the experience with conflicting feelings… and a new song.  In an Instagram post, Del Rey said she experienced “complex feelings” about enjoying the music festival as tensions with North Korea mount. She was inspired to stop in a wooded area and write the new untitled song on the way home.
•Carrie Underwood – paid a surprise visit to her husband’s NHL playoff game on Monday night to sing the National Anthem before the Nashville Predators’ first-round Stanley Cup game against the Chicago Blackhawks. Hubby Mike Fisher’s Nashville Predators won 3-2 in overtime.
•Blake Shelton and ‘In Touch Weekly’ have reached a settlement in the defamation fight over a 2015 cover story headlined “The Real Story: REHAB for Blake.” Details of the settlement have not been released, but Shelton’s attorney confirmed that the singer and magazine have resolved the situation amicably, and that Blake ‘accomplished his purpose’.
•Lady Gaga –  has been enlisted by Prince William in his campaign to persuade people to be more open about mental health issues.  The heir to the British throne released a video Tuesday in which he speaks with the pop star via FaceTime. Lady Gaga, who last year spoke out about her struggles with post-traumatic stress disorder, places the call from her kitchen in California, and William answers at his desk in Kensington Palace. Gaga has also been invited to join the Royal Family in England in October to help with their charity.
•Gene Simmons –  has never been one to bite his famous tongue and he continued that tradition in a recent interview where he placed the blame for the downfall of the music business squarely on fans.  When asked his opinion of online streaming music services like Spotify, he indicated that he is not a supporter.  Simmons said that he believes in the free market economy.  He went on to explain that he is “a rich bastard” and it doesn’t affect him but says that streaming services do hurt up and coming bands.

COMING ATTRACTIONS:
A BS Selection of movies in the making:
• “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” is now officially confirmed.  Even before Vol. 2 hits theatres, Director James Gunn has revealed on Facebook that he will return to write and direct the third chapter. Gunn went on to say that this film will close a chapter on “this iteration” of the Guardians and will lead into the next ten years of Marvel movies.
• “A Star is Born” we learned this week that Lady Gaga filmed scenes for this at Coachella.  The film follows Jackson Maine (Bradley Cooper), a country music star who is on the brink of decline when he discovers a talented unknown named Ally (Stefani Germanotta, a.k.a. Lady Gaga). As the two begin a love affair, Ally’s career quickly eclipses his own, Jack finds it increasingly hard to handle his fading glory. (Sept. 2018)
• “Daddy’s Home 2” The sequel to the 2015 comedy starring Will Farrell and Mark Wahlberg is expected to bring the 2 stars back and may also include Mel Gibson and John Lithgow.  Nov. 2017.
• “Spongebob Squarepants 3” A sequel to 2014’s The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water. (Feb. 2019)

CUT A BETTER DEAL, CUT COSTS:
Some household bills are fixed expenses.  Some are negotiable.  According to experts, you should negotiate to get the best deal on services like cable or satellite TV, cellphones, internet, storage units, and gym memberships.  Rule #1: Never accept the first offer.  Here are some more tips:
-Gather Competitors’ Offers: Do your home work and know what is out there.  They probably hate that.
-Call Your Provider: Let them know you are thinking of switching or cancelling.  You’ll probably be transferred to a customer retention department, where the real savings are.
-Get Clear on Expiration Dates: Any discounts that you manage to negotiate may expire in a matter of months.  Enter those dates on your calendar with a reminder to restart negotiations before your bill jumps up again.  (Or are we just getting greedy now?)
-Think Bigger: Monthly bills like mortgages and car insurance aren’t negotiable in the same way, but you should revisit these at least annually.  The savings here could be bigger than all your smaller bills put together.

BETTER THAN USING A STRAW:
You know the routine.  You are using a spray bottle to clean the windows or something, when you hear that irritating ‘fttt fttt’ sound, and the stuff inside stops spraying out.  But you can see it.  You can feel the last 7% of your Windex sloshing around in there.  Enter ‘Anywhere Spray’, a new style of spray bottle which promises to keep you hard at work until the bottle is empty.  The conventional trigger bottle relies on a thin plastic tube that runs to the bottom with a single hole. When this tube and hole no longer makes contact with the fluid, the trigger stops working.
The Anywhere Spray bottle includes a tube that is sealed at the bottom but, instead, has millions of microscopic holes which allow in liquids but not air or gases. This means that it can suck in cleaning fluid all the way along its length.  That means even if the bottle is used sideways or upside-down, it continues to work until every last drop is used up.
(Great.  There goes that excuse to stop cleaning)
