BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Meghan Markle will not attend the funeral of Prince Philip, Buckingham Palace announced on Saturday, ending speculation over whether she would accompany Prince Harry across the pond. According to a royal spokesperson, “The Duke of Sussex is planning to attend. The Duchess of Sussex has been advised by her physician not to travel” due to her pregnancy. This Saturday’s funeral will be held at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, and will be closed to the public in accordance with pandemic guidelines. Markle and Prince Harry are expecting their second child, a daughter, this summer.

★ Paramount Pictures has pushed back the release date of the Tom Cruise movie “Top Gun: Maverick” . . . again, this time from July to November 19. That move deprives theaters of what was expected to be one of the biggest releases of the summer blockbuster season. The sequel to the 1986 hit “Top Gun” was originally scheduled for release on July 12, 2019, but was postponed to “allow the production to work out all the complex flight sequences”. Then, due to the pandemic and scheduling conflicts, the film received multiple further delays.

★ Cher wants to star in “Mamma Mia! 3”. She was featured in the musical comedy sequel “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again,” and revealed that she is prepared to reprise the role so she can duet with her on-screen daughter ‘Donna Sheridan-Carmichael’, played by Meryl Streep. Producer Judy Craymer responded by saying that she wants Cher to be in the film and would love to see her sing ‘Slipping Through My Fingers’ with Streep. Craymer says the scene would have to be in the form of a flashback since Streep’s character has been killed off.

★ A scary situation involving one of the stars of “Tiger King”: Tim Stark, who was one of the animal park staffers on the show, reportedly threatened to take his own life. According to reports, Stark went on Facebook Live after a judge in Indiana banned him from owning animals. He subsequently threatened to take his own life. Additionally, he threatened anyone who would come to his property. In the video, Stark displays a syringe attached to his arm, claiming it was filled with drugs used for euthanasia, and demanding the judge hold a virtual public hearing. Police were made aware of the situation, and Stark was taken into custody Thursday night.

• Cardi B – says she is going to disappear for a “very long time” to complete her new album. She stopped working on her hotly-anticipated follow-up to 2018’s “Invasion of Privacy” because the pandemic made her feel “discouraged”, and she couldn’t properly promote or tour a new record.

He posted that fans may have noticed that he was sitting for the group’s Thursday performance on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” because he “had to have open-heart surgery a month ago and am under doctor’s orders to take it easy.” He also wrote that he is “getting stronger every day”.

SHOOTING THE BULL
TAKE YOUR PIC:
In the latest attempt to entice people to head to shopping centers, the Boulevard Mall in Buffalo NY is planning to open a “selfie museum” next month. Selfie WRLD Buffalo will be similar to selfie museums that have popped up in larger cities recently: It will feature 20 different backdrops and interactive photo opportunities, each in an 8×8 cubicle. Guests are invited to go “from room to room” to take their own selfies, or use the services of a pro photographer to “up your selfie game”. There are 25 Selfie WRLDs in the US, and the new Buffalo location will feature some local backgrounds, including Bills Mafia and Buffalove. Selfie WRLD Buffalo will also be doing private parties, birthday parties and even “girl’s nights”.
LINK: https://www.instagram.com/selfiewrldbuffalo/
(I can’t help but notice that they don’t have a Buffalo Sabres-themed backdrop…)
(I’d be the only person who is told by the photographer to put my mask ON for the pic!)
(I’m just not sure who wants to have photographic evidence that they visited Buffalo!)

MASKING A COUGH:
If you thought coughing or sneezing in public was a social no-no BEFORE the pandemic, what about now? According to a new study, people are even more mortified with the thought. Over half of people polled say they feel judged when they have to sneeze in public, even if they’re wearing a mask. The survey of 2,000 Americans was done to understand how the pandemic has impacted social etiquette around coughing and sneezing, especially as allergy season approaches. 56% of respondents said they feel the heat of judgmental eyes after sneezing or coughing. 55% said they experience a slight moment of panic when they feel the urge to sneeze coming on.
(And, of course, that brings up the BIG question: If you need to sneeze while wearing a mask, what the heck are you supposed to do?)
(Well, they say that the reason we should wear a mask is to protect others. I guess that’s doubly so if you’re going to sneeze!)
(I’ve got a feeling that people may start using a new phrase to replace “Bless you” when somebody sneezes!)

BULK FOOD:
In another sign of a return to normalcy, Costco’s beloved food court, home of the famous $1.50 hot dog and soda combo, is slowly coming back to life. Costco shut down seating areas in food courts when the pandemic spread through the US last March, paring back the menu to hot dogs and pizza for takeout only. The chicken bake returned in the summer, but now, Costco has added back ice cream and smoothies to the menu, and is bringing back tables and chairs in stores that have outdoor seating. The company is also bringing back churros to the menu and plans to resume indoor seating as more states loosen COVID-19 restrictions. The company sold 151 million hot dogs last year and hasn’t raised the price in more than three decades.
(The chicken bake and churro both sound delicious, but I’ve never tried them. Because $1.50 hot dog and soda combo!)
(It really feels great to score a cheap meal right after you’ve spent $400 on food and socks!)
(It won’t truly be normal to me until there are people shoving a free sample in my face at the end of every aisle, and after leaving the store I need to skip my next meal!)

DID YOU KNOW?
A new survey has revealed the most popular pet name of the last 125 years. The veterinary company FirstVet undertook a study of the pets in Hartsdale Cemetery in New York, the oldest continually operating pet cemetery in North America. They determined that, on average, more than one out of 100 animals buried there was named ‘Princess’. Both dogs and cats frequently received this name, but Princess was slightly more popular for dogs, coming out on top as the most popular dog name overall. The most popular name for cats overall was Tiger.
