BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ (***Caution: “Hell”***) Jennifer Lopez drove for the first time in 25 years after her fiancé Alex Rodriguez surprised her with a red 2019 Porsche 911 GTS to mark her 50th birthday. The moment he surprised Lopez with the car was documented in a video shared on her YouTube page. After removing the blindfold and seeing the car, she looked stunned and said: “What the hell?! What is that? Oh my god, I’m gonna have to drive? I’ve never driven a car like that… I’ve never driven a car, period.” It seems that her driving skills quickly came back though, as she was then seen taking the $140,000 car for a spin with A-Rod in the passenger seat.

★ Kristen Stewart hasn’t limited her Twilight talks to just vampires, because she says that she also speaks to ghosts. She told Vanity Fair that: “If I’m in a weird, small town, making a movie, and I’m in a strange apartment, I will literally be like, ‘No, please, I cannot deal. Anyone else, but it cannot be me.'” She says that although she isn’t sure exactly what ghosts are, “there is an energy that I’m really sensitive to.”

★ Jason Momoa is set to star in and produce Netflix’s upcoming thriller “Sweet Girl”. The “Aquaman” star will portray a distraught husband who embarks on a mission to bring violent justice to those responsible for the death of his wife, while protecting the only family he has left, his daughter. There’s no word on when the movie will begin shooting.

★ Corey Feldman has revealed new details about the long-rumored “Goonies” sequel, saying that he co-wrote the original pitch for the movie. Feldman, who co-starred in the original as ‘Mouth’, spoke to reporters at an event in Los Angeles this week, and reminisced on how badly he had wanted the sequel to happen. Rumors of a “Goonies 2” treatment and script have long circulated in Hollywood, and while it is fun to imagine, at this point it is unlikely to happen. Feldman said that “we can’t get everyone to agree on” a single idea.

COOL DOG YOU HAVE THERE:
We buy everything else that we can for the comfort of our four-legged friends, why not this? With the recent heatwave, air-conditioned houses for dogs are popping up outside of restaurants and stores in a bid to keep pets cool and their owners worry-free while they run errands or grab a bite to eat. A company called “Dogspot” is giving people the option to have their pup wait for them in air-conditioned comfort by using an app to reserve a nearby “house” for their furry friend up to 15 minutes in advance. The owner can unlock the house via the app, and then monitor their dog through a webcam. How much? 30 cents per minute or US$19.99 for a monthly membership. The average “stay” for a dog is 15 minutes, and the houses self-clean after each use via UV lights, plus they are manually cleaned each day. For the winter, the houses have a heated floor. To address safety concerns, the DogSpot houses are only accessible to the owner of the dog currently using the house. Coming soon: The ability to play music for your dog and to talk to your pet if he or she needs comforting.
(I have friends who would definitely use this…for themselves!)
(My problem? My dog would not set foot in there unless I brought along his blankie!)
(Finally! My dog will “Stay”!)

OUT OF THE INN:
Hotel giant Holiday Inn has announced that it is ditching mini-shampoos in favor of bulk-size bathroom amenities in an effort to cut waste. The owner of Holiday Inn and InterContinental Hotels said that its nearly 843,000 guest rooms use an average of 200 million bathroom miniatures every year, and with public awareness of the problem of plastic waste at an all-time high, the move will allow the company to reduce their waste footprint and environmental impact.
(OK, but those things are going to be a lot harder to stuff into my luggage…)
(It’s OK, I already have a lifetime supply at home!)
(I’m good with that, as long as they aren’t asking me to use the same bar of soap as the guy who was in there before me!)
(While they’re at it, why not get rid of the shower cap? NOBODY uses that!)
-NYPost
SPIDERS AND SNAKES:
A recent study published in the British Journal of Psychology looked to identify the animals and creatures that people find most loathsome. Ready? Spiders and venomous snakes were most often rated with the highest possible fear score. The creatures most often rated with the highest possible disgust score were (again) spiders, tapeworms, roundworms, lice, and maggots. Farm and pet animals were the least “gross” and scary.
(But I have to admit that my bulldog has been known to make some pretty “gross” smells…!)

DID YOU KNOW?
You should wear socks to bed. Heating cold feet causes dilation of the blood vessels, which basically tells the brain that it is bedtime. After the blood vessels open in the hands and feet, heat is redistributed throughout the body to prepare for sleep.
