WHERE HAPPINESS AND MEAT MEET:
Yes, there are some health risks that come along with a diet consisting of large quantities of meat…especially red meat.  But apparently giving up meat all together comes with some problems of its own.  A Bristol University study and found vegetarians scored a higher than average depression score. The study examined nearly 10,000 British men and the committed vegetarians and vegans in the group had a higher average depression score compared to the men on a conventional balanced diet who enjoyed tremendous foods such as fried chicken sandwiches and ribs smeared with a zesty yet sweet barbecue sauce.  Researchers think the higher depression score might be the result of a shortage of certain vitamins and minerals in the vegetarians’ diets.
(No more bacon cheeseburgers, no more juicy steaks, no more pepperoni pizzas. I see what they’re saying!)
(Just thinking about not having glorious bacon right now is making me sad.)
(Like they say, how do you know when someone is a vegan?  Don’t worry, they’ll tell you!)

INTERNET HOTSPOT 2.0:
You’ve seen the ‘wireless’ cellphone chargers.  You leave your electronic device on a compatible electronic mat, and ‘boom!’ it charges almost as fast as if you plugged it in.  Very handy.  But how cool is this?  It is now possible to charge your phone using fire.  Seriously. The BioLite Wood Burning CampStove combines the benefits of a lightweight backpacking stove and an off-grid power charger so you can cook a meal while charging your gadgets. The Campstove is the perfect solution for both the backcountry campsite and for Emergency Preparedness Kits. The stove cooks meals using nothing more than twigs and contains a jack you can plug your phone into and charge your device from the heat generated within the CampStove. How much? U.S. $125.
(Way to get away from it all!)
(That’s what I need.  To have to dodge wires in the dark around a hot stove!)
(Which is good.  So I can YouTube how to cook this squirrel I caught!)

BS BUZZWORDS:
Cutting-edge vocab …
• Plandid – a planned ‘candid’ photo.  Like the one your friend put on Facebook of her sitting down to a beautiful meal at a resort in the mountains at sunset, with her hair and nails perfectly done…(or that one you posted of your kids not fighting!)
•Dopamine dressing – Wearing clothes that boost one’s mood.  (That loud Hawaiian shirt might boost YOUR mood….)
• Restify – To restore something to its original state and then modify it with new or improved features.  (“Gramps said he’d fix up the old go-cart for junior.  We didn’t think he’s restify it out with a turbocharger and GPS!”)
• Helveticize – To make bland, boring, or generic; as in to set text in, or convert text to, the Helvetica typeface.  (“The party was rockin’ until the parents came home.  Then we had to helveticize things.”)

FROM THE BS POLL VAULT:
A statistical look at who we are and the things we do …
• Men are 45% more likely than women to feel homesick on a business trip. (Women are just happy that someone else has to cook for a few days!)
• 70% of men say that when they grow facial hair, they feel like they have more personality. (It’s kinda like drinking…you THINK you have more personality…)
• 10% of people wish they had a microwave in their car. (That’s what we need…distracted zapping!)
• 10% of candle purchases are made by men. (That’s a lot of guys who have an Aunt’s birthday coming up!)
• 45% of men and women think you should wait until age 25 to get a credit card. (The key word here being ‘YOU’, not ‘ME’!)
