BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Proving once again that famous folks can fly under the radar if they want to – a spokesman for Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt has confirmed the superstar show-biz couple got married in France on Saturday. Clearly, they pulled it off without any hint of a tip-off to paparazzi and/or the rest of the media. In fact, no further details have yet been revealed. Brangelina have been a couple for 9 years, became engaged in 2012, and have 6 children together.

★ 53-year-old George Clooney has been named Hollywood’s ‘Most-Gracefully Aging Male’ in a new survey of 1,000 movie fans. His close pal Brad Pitt (50) ranks 2nd in the listing of male stars who’ve stayed sexy with age, followed by Johnny Depp (51). The top 5 is rounded out by James Bond actor Daniel Craig (46), and Australian star Hugh Jackman (45). What is striking about the survey results is that every entry on the list has a full head of hair.

★ And famed filmmaker Martin Scorsese is being tapped to direct a documentary about The Ramones, which will include exclusive footage from the 1970s and ’80s. To celebrate the upcoming 40th anniversary of the iconic punk band’s debut album, the Ramones’ estate is planning multiple projects in 2016. Others include a theatrical play, and a book that will combine photos, posters, and other memorabilia. The last surviving member of The Ramones, Tommy, died of cancer in July. Like Michael Jackson, they’ll likely make far more money posthumously.

TALK TO ME:
Just one conversation can inspire us, reassure us, or brighten up our day. An event is being based on the idea that many good things – big or small – can happen from a simple conversation between strangers. A UK organization is attempting to promote this idea through the ‘Talk to Me’ badge, which participants stick on to show others that they’re up for a chat, thus breaking down barriers that often keep us silent. The group is holding a London-wide day on Saturday to test out it’s theory that simple conversations can create social change by reducing isolation, improving well-being, and strengthening communities. (As Robert DeNiro once said: “Are you talking to me? Are you talking to ME?”)

‘MATERS MATTER:
Just 10 servings of tomatoes per week can help men reduce the risk of prostate cancer by almost 20%, according to a new study by the Universities of Bristol, Cambridge, and Oxford. A single serving is 150 g (5 oz) of tomatoes. Tomato-based pasta sauce, tomato juice, and even the tomato purée topping on pizza have all been found to have the beneficial effect. The researchers think that the protection comes from a key chemical inside known as lycopene. And there’s further good news: Eating 5 portions of fruit and vegetables a day can also decrease risk by a further 24%. (Who would have thought the key to good health would be ketchup and Bloody Marys?)
– “The Independent”

THE LONG & SHORT OF IT:
New research has found that the rate of divorce among short men is significantly less than among average-height or tall men. So, if you want your relationship to last … wed a wee guy. The New York University study also shows that short fellows are more likely to marry much younger women, and often make more money than their spouses. That’s because short men tend to use money to make up for their lack of stature. Tall men, on the other hand, get married more quickly, tend to marry more educated women, older women, and – on the upside – are more likely to do housework. (Also more able to reach that thingy on the top shelf you want.)
