The Sheet Hits the Fans!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Gordon Ramsay’s new show is upsetting Anthony Bourdain fans. National Geographic announced Ramsay’s new series, “Uncharted”, will feature the foul-mouthed chef embarking “on anthropology-through-cuisine expeditions” to foster relationships with people, places and flavors around the world. As many people on social media have noted, “Uncharted” sounds very similar to “Parts Unknown”, the CNN show that featured Bourdain traveling around the world learning about other cultures through food.
(As long as he’s not trying to be like Guy Fieri, I’m good with it!)

★ Paul Walker’s mother Cheryl has revealed new details about the day he was killed in a freak car accident in 2013. In the new documentary called “I Am Paul Walker”, she reveals Walker had forgotten all about the event for his charity ‘Reach Out Worldwide’, which would turn out to be his final ever engagement. He would not have gone if he hadn’t received a text to remind him. Walker left the event in a Porsche Carrera GT driven by his friend and financial adviser, former race-car driver Roger Rodas. The car lost control, crashed into a lamppost and exploded, killing both men instantly. “I Am Paul Walker” premieres August 11 on the Paramount Network.

★ Now Nicole Eggert is the one caught under the microscope as the LAPD probes allegations that she is harassing Scott Baio and his family. Baio and his wife Renee recently contacted police and provided documentation of Tweets and messages where they claim the former “Baywatch” star has been tormenting the couple. As of now, it’s unclear where the case will end up, and whether a restraining order, or any other legal action, is needed.

★ Jennifer Aniston knows how much people talk about her, and she knows how much they want to construct a narrative that isn’t true. She and her husband Justin Theroux split in February, and since then, she says the rumors about her have been “pretty crazy.” Aniston says: “The misconceptions are ‘Jen can’t keep a man,’ and ‘Jen refuses to have a baby because she’s selfish and committed to her career.’ Or that I’m sad and heartbroken. First, with all due respect, I’m not heartbroken.”
-Cosmopolitan
★ Conor McGregor was supposed to do a cameo in the upcoming season of “Vikings” but apparently backed out at the last minute. Star Katheryn Winnick was asked about the UFC star and she said: “To be honest with you, he was supposed to be in my show that I directed, and I wrote him a role… and it just didn’t work out.” Winnick says that she had to change the entire scene on only a few hours’ notice because of McGregor’s cancellation.

★ It’s the end of an era: for the first time in its history, the Hefner family has no ownership of Playboy. A deal was just struck between the Hugh Hefner Trust and the parent company that owns Playboy Enterprises, calling for the Hefners to sell their last shares in the company for $35 million. One of Hefner’s sons continues to work with the company. Hugh Hefner founded Playboy in 1953, which he famously funded with a $1,000 loan from his mother. Hefner was synonymous with Playboy and he was the face of the brand throughout its rise to national prominence. He died last September.

YOU LOOK LIKE A DOLL:
It’s been about 15 minutes, it’s about time we had a new Instagram trend. So far this year we’ve had halo brows, the return of the mullet and the not so body positive hip cleavage. Now, the latest craze to hit your Insta feed is ‘Barbie Feet’. Barbie Feet refers to an increasing number of celebrities and influencers arching their feet to give the appearance that they’re wearing heels, even when they’re not… you know, like Barbie’s permanent pose. Why? Vanity. As you know, the main reason people wear heels is because they give the illusion that your legs are longer. But when you’re taking selfies and shots with your BFFs in a summertime beach or pool setting, high heels aren’t always appropriate footwear. So many of today’s trendsetters are posing as if they are wearing heels, even though they are sans footwear. Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Kourtney Karsashian are just some of the celebs who have been seen in the ‘Barbie Feet’ pose.
(Nope. I’ll stick with my high-heel Crocs. That’s why I got ‘em!)
(If anyone was going to wear high heels and swimwear, I thought for sure it would be a Kardashian!)
(As long as we’re doing clichés, you might as well do a circle of Barbie Feet while you’re at it!)

APPLE ORIGIN:
Every once in a while, you hear stories about how city kids might not know that we get milk from cows. Or that they think brown cows give chocolate milk. Well, a new poll has revealed that 20% of British children are not aware that apples come from trees. After surveying 1,000 kids between the ages of 6 and 12, they found that fully one in five did not know that apples grow on trees. And get this: 80% believed that bananas DO grow on trees. British TV personality Katie Piper is organizing a day trip to a fruit farm for some of these poor, misguided children.
(OK, I’ll be the first to say it. Where DO bananas grow, then?)
(I wonder if their parents know where apples come from. Because as you know, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!)
(Maybe they haven’t studied Pi yet…)
