BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Jeremy Renner broke both his arms while filming a movie called ‘Tag’. How? He dropped by Good Morning America to explain how a guy who appeared in ‘Mission: Impossible’, ‘The Avengers’ and ‘The Bourne Legacy’ could break 2 arms while filming a comedy. He says that he was doing a stunt on a 20-foot stack of chairs, and while the chairs didn’t fall, Renner did. And while he was supposed to land on his feet, he ended up landing on his arms. ‘Tag’ comes out next year.

★ ‘The Middle’ will end next year. Launched in 2009, the comedy starring Patricia Heaton as Frankie Heck, always garnered good reviews, but never became a blockbuster success like ‘Modern Family’, another ABC comedy that launched at the same time. ABC has promised a proper sendoff for the show in it’s 9th season, which begins on October 3.

★ The ‘The Big Bang Theory’ shows no signs of stopping any time soon, but series co-creator Chuck Lorre has offered some unofficial insight into its future. He admitted that season 12 could “easily” be a natural end-point. According to him, they never thought they would reach season 11, let alone considered what’s going to happen after 12. Lorre says: “One could easily presume that would be the end of the series but I’m just amazed we’re here.” However, CBS’ Entertainment president Kelly Kahl was more optimistic, saying that she hopes the series goes 20 seasons.

★ ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ will open on Broadway in Spring 2018. The critically acclaimed two-part play, which is a follow-up to J.K. Rowling’s hugely successful ‘Harry Potter’ novel and movie series, will feature seven lead members of the original London West End cast.

★ It looks as though ‘Miami Vice’ is the next 80s show to get the reboot treatment. Vin Diesel will serve as co-exec producer and star in the revival, which is in development at NBC, the network that aired the original starring Don Johnson. Reboots continue to be in high demand. Up this season are reboots of Dynasty, Roseanne, SWAT and Will and Grace. The new Miami Vice is set for the Fall of 2018.

★ Now-broadcaster Alex Rodriguez, who made about $500 million during his playing days, admits 2014 was the year he hit rock bottom when he was given the longest-ever suspension in baseball history for using performance-enhancing drugs. Here is what he had to day about missing the entire season: “That year off I just had to change and stop being a jerk.” Now with his priorities re-focused, A-Rod is about to make his debut as an ABC News contributor and is filming a pilot for CNBC to help former athletes find their calling after retiring from the major leagues.
($500 mil in the bank, a new job or two….plus the J-Lo thing. I guess he’s doing ok now!)

• Jack White – has begun recording his third solo album.

• Liam Gallagher – says he still likes to go out boozing because constant sobriety is ”boring”. He says he has calmed down a lot now that he’s in his 40s but he doesn’t like to be on the wagon all time because life becomes too dull and he becomes too nice. (Actually, things are NEVER boring with Liam!)
• Kanye West – has filed a lawsuit claiming his insurance company doesn’t believe his mental breakdown was real. He is seeking $10 million. West’s company claims it has not received payment from Lloyd’s of London for expenses related to the cancellation of West’s ‘Saint Pablo’ tour.
• Louis Tomlinson – he and Zayn Malik are letting bygones be bygones. Louis says that the two got back in touch, cleared the air, and their feud is officially over. Quote: “So we’re mates again, I suppose.”
• Miley Cyrus – has someone better than a fairy godmother to dress her — she’s got Dolly Parton! Cyrus says there are perks to having Dolly as a godmother. On top of having a go-to genius for voice lessons and song lyrics, Miley says there is also the advantage of “Having access to her closet!”
• Faith Hill – has been put on vocal rest, forcing the cancellation of last night’s ‘Soul2Soul’ tour stop in North Little Rock, Arkansas
• Joe Nichols – has included a cover of Sir Mix-a-lot’s 1992 cheesy rap hit ‘Baby Got Back’ on his new album ‘Never Gets Old’. Mix-a-lot appears in the video. (I’ve got a feeling that this actually might get old real quick…)

WHATEVER GETS YOU THROUGH THE DAY:
How many hours of a workday do you spend actually working? Maybe less than you think. Consider all the minutes you fritter away getting coffee, chatting at the water cooler, playing on your phone, checking personal email, getting more coffee, shopping online…. According to a survey, the average worker wastes about eight hours a week. Workers reported spending about 56 minutes per day on their personal mobile device for non work-related activities, and an additional 42 minutes a day on personal tasks. That’s about one workday per week total. The younger generation wastes the most time at the office, with workers ages 18-34 wasting 70 minutes a day on their phone and 48 minutes on personal tasks. What are the most popular ways we waste time on our phones? In order, personal email, social media, sports sites and online shopping.
(I’d never shop at work. At the end of the day I’d show at a net loss!)
(I easily waste 8 hours a week. By Wednesday!)
(OK…who the narc who was HONEST in the survey!)

(Maybe one of the big problems in our world then, is the fact that MOST countries are NOT seen to have a positive effect?)

ORE-OH!
Just when you thought you had found the ultimate go-to Oreo flavor (Triple Double Chocolate, thank you very much), Nabisco is about to bless us with another option that’s sure to take the…um, cookie: Cookie Butter! This delectable cookie-flavored spread has become wildly popular this year, so of course the Oreo people couldn’t resist getting in on the hype. We think. A popular Instagrammer who often shares insider tips about upcoming snack launches recently shared a picture of the Cookie Butter Oreo packaging, claiming that the flavor will be released on Sept. 18. Although Cookie Butter Oreos haven’t been officially confirmed by Oreo, it looks legit. The countdown to September starts . . . NOW!
(I’ll hold on for DOUBLE-STUFFED Cookie Butter Oreos, thank you very much!)
(I’m quite familiar with the taste. Because I already dip my Oreo cookies in butter!)
