BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
✶ Andrew Silverman is allegedly stunned that his wife’s apparently innocent flirtation with Simon Cowell turned out to be a full-blown affair. A friend tells “The Sun” that the NYC property developer is still in shock at the discovery his wife Lauren is expecting a child with the 53-year-old media mogul and can’t believe their affair happened right under his nose. Simon and the Silvermans were friends for over 6 years and often vacationed together.

✶ Charlie Sheen has sparked rumors he’s gone back to his wild days after pictures have surfaced online, showing him enjoying a Hawaiian vacation with 3 unnamed women … all of whom work in the porn industry and are said to be living with Sheen in California. He was recently dating adult film star Georgia Jones, but now appears to have moved on with a trio of new women that he reportedly refers to as his ‘angels’.

✶ The filmmaking Coen Bros are turning their Oscar-winning movie “Fargo” into a TV series, with Billy Bob Thornton in the lead role. The 1996 film starred Frances McDormand as a determined, pregnant police chief on the trail of two bumbling criminals. The 10-part TV series for FX channel will involve brand new characters and a new scenario. Filming will take place in Canada, and the drama is expected to be debut next Spring.

✶ And “Jeopardy!” TV host Alex Trebek has been facing a lot of backlash on social media for his ‘harsh treatment’ of 12-year-old Kids’ Week contestant Thomas Hurley III. As you’ve heard, the 8th-grader was penalized for misspelling ‘Emancipation Proclamation’, adding an extra ‘t’ in the first word. That relegated the 8th-grader to the $2,000 runner-up prize. What’s been lost in all the hoopla – rival competitor Skyler Hornback set a Kids’ Week record by winning $66,000, meaning Thomas didn’t have a shot … he was only going to win $2K anyway.

WOMEN HAVE ‘DOUCHE-DAR’:
Do certain men just look like cheaters? According to a new study, women can correctly identify men with a history of unfaithfulness by simply looking at their faces. Apparently, looking ‘masculine’ can act as a proxy for testosterone levels, which is correlated with infidelity, and women are pretty good at picking out the most masculine-looking men from a lineup. Unfortunately, men aren’t quite as good at recognizing potential cheaters from a group of women. (Now if only someone could turn this into an app …).

WHERE TO GET A PhD IN PARTYING:
University of Iowa has claimed the dubious title of 2013’s ‘Top Party School in America’. “The Princeton Review” revealed the rankings this week, as determined by some 126,000 students in a nationwide poll. Rounding out the top 5 are: University of California @ Santa Barbara; the University of Illinois @ Urbana-Champaign; West Virginia University; and Syracuse University. The most ‘stone-cold sober school’ is – once again – Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. (In Iowa, ‘studying for the bar’ is a whole different thing.)

VIRTUAL SPLIT:
There are new ‘BreakupText’ and ‘MakeupText’ apps that help you compose and send text messages to either end or mend relationships. New Yorkers Jake Levine of Digg.com and Lauren Leto, the brains behind Texts from Last Night, launched the new apps to take the messiness out of a relationship’s uncomfortable moments. To use them, you simply answer a few questions: boy or girl? serious or casual?, etc. The app then spits out a lengthy text message detailing why the relationship is doomed or should be resumed. ‘BreakupText’ is 99¢ at Apple iTunes store; ‘MakeupText’ is free for a limited time. (Writing your own honest words is always free.)

CANINE CHICK MAGNET:
Walking your dog is one of the top ways to meet women, according to a recent Australian study. That may be because it gives guys an opportunity to show their kinder, gentler side. But since a woman will usually pet your pooch then promptly walk away, you have only about 3 seconds to grab her attention. Your next move: If she plays with your pup and he loves the attention, point out his opinion of her and offer your own compliment. (“Ralphie thinks you are lots of fun. I find you attractive myself.”)

HACKED COMMODE:
A hi-tech toilet is vulnerable to cyber-attack, according to security experts. The Satis toilet by Japanese firm Lixil retails for over $5,500 and includes automatic flush, bidet, music, and fragrance release. The toilet uses Bluetooth to receive commands via an Android app called ‘My Satis’, but the PIN code for every model is hardwired to be 4 zeros (0000), meaning it cannot be reset and can be activated by any phone with the app. An attacker/prankster could cause repeated flushes, lid openings & closings, and download stored personal data. BS AMAZING FACT:
William Herschel was the 19th Century astronomer who became famous for discovering a new planet in the Solar System. He was going to name his newly discovered orb ‘George’ after the then British king. But for some reason, he changed his mind and called it ‘Uranus’.
