BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:

And now Ed Sheeran could be set for one of his biggest acting roles yet, but we may never know for sure.  Sheeran is said to have landed a secret cameo in the upcoming “Star Wars” movie, which is currently shooting.  His reported cameo is being kept a secret and because he is supposedly playing a storm trooper, and they wear full face-shields, fans won’t be able to catch even a glimpse of him if and when his appearance in the film hits the big screen.

★ Meryl Streep is reportedly set to become a grandmother for the first time. The triple Oscar winner’s daughter, “The Good Wife” actress Mamie Gummer, is pregnant. Gummer starred opposite Streep in the 2015 musical “Ricki and the Flash”.

-MSN
★ Amy Schumer has been documenting her pregnancy on Instagram. Schumer, who is expecting her first child with husband Chris Fischer – has been suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, a pregnancy complication that is characterized by severe nausea, but feels ”blessed” she is able to bounce back so quickly from her sickness bouts. And she hasn’t lost her sense of humor, saying: ”You know who it’s not fun to be pregnant at the same time as? Meghan Markle! She’s walking around in heels and cradling her baby that’s not even there, and I’m barely wearing underwear.”

★ Dr. Who’s ratings have surged since Jodie Whittaker took over the lead role. Whittaker’s Dr. Who has averaged 1.6 million viewers per episode.  That’s in comparison to the last Dr. Who, played by Peter Capaldi, who averaged 1.3 million viewers per episode.  That’s a 20 percent increase in viewership. Whittaker is the first woman to play Dr. Who, and was initially met with protest and a chant of #NotMyDoctor Twitter posts.

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Camila Cabello — is taking her first break in six years.  She says she can’t wait to get some ”rest and inspiration” as she prepares for her next era.  She has said previously that she doesn’t have social media on her phone and tries to keep her distance from online comments to ”protect” herself from any negativity.
• Miley Cyrus — Mark Ronson says his collaboration with her on ‘Nothing Breaks Like a Heart’ was the result of him “stalking” her for four years.”  The producer says he managed to get her number, even if he wasn’t sure “if it was legal or not,” and started texting her. The pair eventually made a connection and ‘Nothing Breaks Like a Heart’ came to be.
• Ariana Grande – a fan has pointed out that the song ‘Pete Davidson’ on her new “Sweetener” album repeatedly uses the guitar chords B, A and E throughout the song—spelling out the word “bae.” Yes, it’s a bit of a stretch, but she has been known to hide secret messages in her work.
• William Hung – The “American Idol” favorite made a rare appearance in NYC during the annual SantaCon pub crawl.  He sang his “AI” trademark jam, ‘She Bangs’ for the rowdy crowd at the event, in which hundreds of bar patrons dress like Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
• Fleetwood Mac — Lindsey Buckingham  has settled a civil lawsuit launched against his former bandmates after he was fired from the group, a move he said cost him millions in lost earnings. I’m happy enough with it.”  He did not rule out reuniting with the group sometime in the future.
• KISS – bassist Gene Simmons says he has been left “heartbroken” by the death of his mother.  94-year-old Florence Klein passed away on Thursday, and Simmons paid tribute on Instagram, calling her “The best mother in the world,” alongside a picture of himself as a child alongside her.
• Cheap Trick — Guitarist Rick Nielsen credits Elvis Presley for two key successes in the group’s career.  He says they were signed to their first record deal on the strength of their demo recording of Elvis’ hit  ‘Hound Dog’, and after a particularly difficult era in the mid-’80s, their cover of ‘Don’t Be Cruel’ brought the group back into the public eye and became “the only (cover) version of an Elvis song that went to the Top 5.”
• Luke Bryan – He and his wife Caroline marked their 12th wedding anniversary on Saturday.  How did they celebrate? Bryan posted a video announcing the milestone, and saying that he and Caroline were celebrating by “day drinkin’.”
• Dierks Bentley – A South Carolina woman claims that her sister was bilked out of $160,000 in cashier’s checks and gift cards by a man posing as Bentley.  The imposter allegedly met the victim on Twitter.  Federal authorities are investigating.

LOVE YOUR NAME:
It’s one of those awesomely awkward moments.  When someone calls you by the wrong name.  Or, perish the thought, YOU call someone else by the wrong name.  And we’ve all done it.  Why?  Psychologists conducted a study, and found that ‘misnaming’ is common and people of all ages do it.  It seems that the mind subconsciously groups together information related to a concept, such as the names of family members, friends, or loved ones.  When calling for that information quickly, perhaps to scold a child, a mother might pull the wrong name out of that group of information, and call her child by his or her sibling’s name. Same goes for groups of friends or other people close to you. So, there you have it.  According to science, calling someone by the wrong name could be a sign that you love them.
(Suddenly I’m seeing my mailman in a whole new light!)
(Now I’m confused. Should I be mad when she calls by her ex’s name…or not?)
(That’s precisely why I stick to calling everyone “Hey”.)
(Or it could just be a wrong number…)

EVEN WHEN IT’S BAD, IT’S GOOD:
In a recent study, pizza was ranked as the food most associated with addiction, according to the Yale Food Addiction Scale. They found that the psychological response to pizza’s ingredient combinations (fat, refined carbs and salt) are closely associated with some indicators of addiction, such as loss of control over consumption, cravings, and continued consumption despite negative consequences.  Make no mistake about it.  It IS addictive.  But why?  Apparently, pizza’s ingredients are not only especially rewarding, but they do not occur together in nature, and that may contribute to its association with addictive-like eating behaviors, according to Erica Schute, a doctoral candidate in clinical psychology at the University of Michigan.  In fact, another recent study found that the combination of fat and carbohydrates seems to elevate the reward potential of highly processed foods more than either alone.
(Well, that explains “pizza for breakfast…”)
(All that…and if it isn’t at your house in 30 minutes, it’s free!)
(True or not, if you don’t like pizza, we can’t be friends…)

TIPS TO SAVE MONEY ON CHRISTMAS SHOPPING:
➢ Get a shopping buddy:  Most coupons require you to spend a certain amount of money to get the discount.  With a friend, you can pool your purchases and both nab savings without spending as much.  (And since it was your idea, make her drive!)
➢ Make a gift list:  Create a shopping plan so you’re not swayed by store marketing strategies. Thrifty shoppers know how much they are going to spend and what they want to buy before they enter the store. (A list works for Santa!)
➢ Go for used:  Thrift stores and garage sales are treasure troves filled with potential presents that won’t empty your wallet. And this time of year, tons of donations flood into thrift stores from parents clearing out toy rooms to people doing some good.  (“How nice.  A used foot bath…”)
➢ Buy experiences:  Isn’t Christmas about making memories? Spend your shopping money on, say, a vacation or a zoo membership. Groupon is a handy site for snagging discounted rates on spa days, dinner dates, excursions, the theater, and more (and you just might find yourself going too, as part of a ‘BOGO’!)
➢ Don’t forget about price matching:  Before you make the trek across town or further, call the stores nearby and ask about their price matching policies. You might pay the lowest possible price without the time and expense of traveling.
➢ Pace yourself:  Some people think about Christmas shopping all year round, picking up gifts little by little, which saves blowing hundreds of dollars in a single month. Experts recommend shopping for next Christmas the week after Dec. 25, when many things are on clearance.  (But would it really feel like Christmas without the mad rush of shopping on Dec. 24th…and my card being declined?)
➢ Get crafty:  Get those creative juices flowing! Nothing says “I love you” more than a thoughtful homemade gift from the heart. Bake someone their favorite pie, scrapbook a photo album, or design personalized coupons for quality time.  (I got out of “crafting” gifts after the 4th grade…and I’m not about to start again!)
➢ Go halvsies on a gift:  Why pay full price when you can split the cost with a sibling or friend? That way you’re not spending a lot of money, and you’re giving something that you both agree the recipient will love.  (Plus, you can share the blame when Mom discovers that you think she’s an “XXL”!

DID YOU KNOW:
Kellogg’s is releasing a beer made from leftover Corn Flakes.  “Throw Away IPA” is being made to lessen the environmental impact of food waste.  It uses cornflakes which are too big, small or overcooked to sell as cereal, to partially replace the wheat grain which goes into beer.  It is said that cornflakes actually sweeten the taste of the beer.
