AND WHAT ABOUT RUBBER BABY BUGGY BUMPERS?
Modern baby buggies and strollers in which the child sits facing forward may be impeding the development of speech. How so? Old-fashioned buggies played a crucial role in developing language skills because youngsters faced backward, allowing direct eye contact with the adult pushing them. Nowadays kids can spend several hours a day staring out into space rather than watching and learning from a parent or care-giver. (In [co-host’s] case, that may be a GOOD thing.)
