BS LEAST POPULAR VALENTINE’S DAY CARDS:
• “Who needs flowers when we have love?”
• “Here — I made it during halftime.”
• “Thinking of you sweetheart, which, technically, the court order can’t prevent.”
• “Just wanted to say ‘I love you’ when I wasn’t falling down drunk.”
• “If only we weren’t so closely related!”
• “You’re too beautiful to resist, my under-the-ether dental patient.”

• “I’ll give you money to have sex with me.”

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
THIS MORNING nominations for the “73rd Annual Academy Awards” will be announced at a 5:30am PST news conference hosted by actress Kathy Bates (http://www.oscar.com) . . . TONIGHT Jennifer Lopez heats up Toronto, doing that MuchMusic interactive thing (“J-Lo, Master T. Master T, J-Lo”) . . . Britney Spears has arrived in Stockholm to begin recording her 3rd album (great, ‘cause if my daughter plays “Oops” again I’m gonna scream!!!) . . . Ratings have been good enough for “Temptation Island” that FOX-TV is already planning a steamy sequel, perhaps “Temptation Mountain” or “Temptation Valley” . . . Openly gay Elton John is defending plans to duet with anti-gay Eminem on his hit “Stan” at the Grammy Awards by claiming the rapper isn’t really a hateful person (tasteless and obnoxious perhaps, but not hateful).

TODAY’S VIDEO RELEASES:
Kirsten Dunst stars in the high school cheerleader comedy “Bring It On” . . . Jason Alexander & Rene Russo play ‘Boris’ and ‘Natasha’, and Robert De Niro portrays ‘Fearless Leader’ in the bigscreen version of the vintage TV cartoon “The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle” . . . Kim Basinger and Jimmy Smits star in the religious thriller “Bless the Child”.

FRISKY FOODS:
What foods put you in the mood for love? In a recent poll, the top 3 chosen by women were champagne (68%), chocolate (46%), and strawberries (44%). Men, on the other hand, are turned on by pizza (41%), meat and potatoes (26%), and Buffalo wings (24%).

STIFF DRINKS:
A soft drink containing the active ingredient of Viagra has been banned in Japan. Ads for the non-prescription drink imported from China  touted it as ‘’the solution to your nighttime problems”. (It was banned because it failed to qualify as a ‘soft drink’.)

AND HOW MANY COWS DO YOU HAVE?
One of the world’s biggest administrative projects is underway – census-taking in India. Over the next 3 weeks, more than 2 million enumerators will visit some 200 million homes asking questions in 18 languages. India passed the billion population mark on May 11, 2000 and it is expected to surpass China’s population of 1.3 billion by 2040.

REAL SIGNS:
• Plastic surgeon — “Can we pick your nose?”
• Plumber — “We repair what your husband fixed.”
• Electrician — “Let us remove your shorts.”
