★ Wendy Williams is getting slammed on social media for a joke she made at the expense of “The Price is Right” host Drew Carey’s ex-fiancée, Amie Harwick, following her unexpected death. Harwick died over the weekend after falling from a balcony following an alleged attack by her ex-boyfriend. While discussing the fall, the segment took a 180 when Williams joked, “Come on down!” — the show’s famous phrase that Carey says every episode. She’s also getting slammed for looking down at the ground, which some suggest she was doing to emphasize Amie Harwick’s deadly fall.

★ Al Pacino was dumped by Israeli actress girlfriend Meital Dohan over their 39-year age gap. She has been quoted as saying: “It’s hard to be with a man so old, even Al Pacino…he is already an elderly man, to be honest. So even with all my love, it didn’t last.” She also had few compliments for her ex when asked what gifts he’d given her during their two-year relationship. According to her: “He only bought me flowers. How can I say politely that he didn’t like to spend money?”

★ After the sudden cancellation of “Ray Donovan” on Feb. 5, fans were not only crushed at the loss of the crime drama, but the fact that so many plotlines would go unresolved. Now, it seems that part of their prayers may have been answered, as it is being reported that the show will get some kind of finale. It’s not clear at this point if the story will be wrapped up by a movie or a new batch of episodes.

★ The 2020 Canadian Screen Awards nominations were announced Tuesday, with “Schitt’s Creek” and “Anne With An E” coming out on top. In the TV categories, “Schitt’s Creek” received a whopping 26 nominations including Best Comedy Series, while “Anne With An E” got an impressive 17 nods. The Canadian Screen Awards will be held on March 29 in Toronto.

★ A new comedy called “Cocaine Hippos” will delve into the weird and wonderful life of… Pablo Escobar’s zoo animals, of course. The animals were brought in from Africa to populate the late drug lord’s Colombian estate in the 1980s, but when he was killed in 1993, his menagerie of wildlife was taken to zoos or sold – apart from the hippos. The plot will follow “a group of friends who stumble across a clue leading to Escobar’s lost treasure”. They then embark on a wild trip that pits them against con men, local drug lords and the deadly hippos.

• Taylor Swift – Her father Scott fought off a burglar who he stumbled upon when returning home to his Florida penthouse. St. Petersburg Police say they could not find the man after the burglary took place. It is unclear if the famous pop star’s father was targeted, if his residence was robbed by coincidence.
• The Black Eyed Peas – have scored their first top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in nearly a decade with ‘RITMO (Bad Boys for Life)’, their collaboration with J Balvin. It is currently at #36 on the chart. “Just Can’t Enough’ hit #3 in 2011, their last appearance on the top 40.
• James Blunt – is known for replying to nasty tweets with witty and scathing comments, but says he always messages his trolls afterwards to make sure they’re OK. Quote: “Their notifications will start going (with others chiming in), and you don’t quite know how fragile they might be.”
• The Strokes — have released their new single ‘Bad Decisions’, the second single from their upcoming album “The New Abnormal”, which will be released April 10.
• Bob Marley – A musical based on his life is set to hit London’s West End next year. “Get Up, Stand Up: The Bob Marley Story” will open at the Lyric Theatre in February 2021, and the production will use the reggae legend’s songs to ”tell his extraordinary personal story as an artist”.
• Heart — Ann Wilson will embark on a solo tour this spring. She has announced 13 shows, beginning April 30 in Englewood, NJ. She plans to perform material from her career with Heart and solo material.
• Foo Fighters – will celebrate their 25th anniversary with the just-announced “Van Tour 2020”, which is named after the Dodge vehicle that took them across North America in 1995. They will play some of the same cities they hit back then, but in considerably larger venues. Fans attending shows will also get to see a preview of Dave Grohl’s upcoming documentary, “What Drives Us”. The tour begins April 12 in Phoenix.
• Florida Georgia Line — will release a new album later this year. And fans shouldn’t expect a big departure from what the duo is known for. According to Tyler Hubbard, “I think we just stick to what we’ve always done. Keep our head down, work hard and try to record the best music and write the best music that we possibly can in that stage of life.”
• Darius Rucker – The Charleston, SC native will serve as an official ambassador for South Carolina tourism in 2020. He’ll make appearances at several major tourism events, including the RBC Heritage golf tournament on Hilton Head Island in April. He also will appear on marketing material for the state’s DiSCover campaign, and as the cover story for the state’s official vacation guide.
FINE TIME FOR WINE:
The cost of wine is expected to plummet to its lowest price in five years – and we have millennials to thank. At least partly. According to CNN, the trend is partly due to an excess of California grapes – and, yes, partly because millennials prefer spirits and ready-to-drink cocktails, which has led to a reduction in demand for wine. As a result, Rob McMillan, founder of Silicon Valley Bank’s Wine Division and author of the annual State of the Wine Industry report, says that American wine enthusiasts will enjoy the “best wine retail values in 20 years.” And he says that the cheaper prices could last up to three years. Because of the popularity of California wines, many other countries should also see decreased prices.
(If the price is dropping because millennials don’t buy it, shouldn’t they be basically be giving away Budweiser, bar soap and houses?)

ROBOCALLER REVENGE:
There is a new app that could go a long way toward stopping the harassment and potential disastrous consequences of the thousands of robocalls which occur every day. The creators of the “DoNotPay” app recently rolled out a feature called “Robo Revenge,” which provides users with a credit card that can be given to scammers in order to obtain information that can be used to track them down. In America, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act gives people the right to sue someone for up to $3,000 if they’re found to have violated your privacy. Robo Revenge gives users the necessary legal documents to make a claim in court. Unfortunately, because there are no global rules concerning the practice, there is nothing that can be done if the calls are generated outside the US, but at least it’s a start…
(Hey! If I can sue these guys for $3,000, I’m taking my number off the “Do Not Call” list!)

RECLINE DECLINE:
Some flyers are furious after Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian said that passengers should ask permission from the person behind them before reclining their seats. While appearing on CNBC’s “Squawk Box”, Bastian was responding to the heated debate about a viral Twitter post that shows a male passenger repeatedly punching the seat of a woman in front of him for reclining. Bastian said: “I think that the proper thing to do is if you’re going to recline into somebody, that you ask if it’s OK first, and then you do it.” It was right about then that Twitter users stopped fighting among themselves, and turned on Bastian — and airlines — for making their lives miserable by jamming more money-making seats into their travel space. One of the higher profile respondents was director Judd Apatow, who tweeted: “You want to create a situation where we all have to negotiate and fight with each other? Are you mad? We pay to recline. How about massive discounts when the people behind us say no?”

☞ Being on your phone: If you must receive a call, step outside or to the entry area to take it. But it’s best to put it away, on silent, while you eat. And don’t place it on the table. Let’s face it…it’s dirty.
☞ Snapping your fingers at servers: Just. Don’t. Make eye contact, smile, and nod. (And if that doesn’t work, fill your mouth with food…that ALWAYS works!)
☞ Not attending to your children: Yes, kids will be kids, but you can’t allow children to scream or throw a tantrum that isn’t attended to. (Is disappearing under the table…and surfacing 3 booths over OK? Asking for a friend….’s kid!)
☞ Undertipping: You saw this coming. If the service was so poor that you feel the need to dock the tip below 15%, you’re better off speaking to the manager. He/she might adjust your bill, and speak to your server.
☞ Making loud noises: Laughs and all that are great, but don’t have that ‘one too many’ drink that causes you to embarrass the table and disrupt other diners.
☞ Putting body functions on display: Belching, and other gases, should be restricted. The same goes for excessive coughing or nose-blowing at the table. And chew with your mouth closed! (See the title of the previous point!)

In a statement, the company said that childhood obesity is one of the “most serious public health threats”. The company will also avoid online marketing to those under 13.
