Ahhh, It’s Your Daily Constitutional Sheet!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Today Yeezy Season 5 is happening during New York Fashion Week as Kanye West is set to unveil his latest collection in partnership with Adidas. The show is scheduled to take place at Pier 59 Studios. A previous report suggests ‘Ye had been dropped from the official New York Fashion Week schedule after failing to approach the Council of Fashion Designers of America about booking a time slot, but that’s unlikely to slow the man down.

★ One year after it banished naked photos, nudity is back in “Playboy” magazine. The mag instituted its no-nudes policy, starting with the March 2016 issue, in an effort to ramp up circulation and get more advertisers but it apparently didn’t work. Chief Creative Officer Cooper Hefner, founder Hugh Hefner’s son, says the move was “a mistake”, so raw flesh is back with the March/April 2017 issue currently hitting newsstands. Hef Jr says the way the magazine portrayed nudity was dated and there will be no full-frontal nudity as in the olden days.

★ After 12 seasons, ABC-TV has cast the first woman of color as its lead in “The Bachelorette”. Texas attorney Rachel Lindsay searches for a soulmate on the show’s 13th season, debuting May 22nd. The breakthrough is likely the result of a years-long battle to get more people of color cast as both daters and leads. In 2012, ABC was slapped with a racial discrimination suit which alleged that producers “knowingly, intentionally, and as a matter of corporate policy refused to cast people of color in the role of ‘The Bachelor’ and ‘The Bachelorette’.” The court ultimately sided with ABC on 1st Amendment grounds.

★ Emma Watson has been named ‘Woman of the Year’ at the “Elle Style Awards” in London. The 26-year-old Hollywood actress and women’s rights campaigner has received the accolade in recognition of her on-screen talents as well as her campaigning for gender equality, which has included helping to launch the HeForShe solidarity initiative. Emma was appointed as a UN Women’s Goodwill Ambassador in 2014. As part of her role, she has spoken at the United Nations HQ in NYC and the World Economic Forum about the issue of equality for women.

★ And 49-year-old Pamela Anderson has been seeing 45-year-old Julian Assange. The former model/actress refuses to confirm speculation she’s dating the exiled WikiLeaks founder, but admits she likes to bring ”a little help, a smile, and some glamour” to his cramped lifestyle. The former “Baywatch” star has made a string of visits to the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, where Assange has been living in political asylum since 2012. She admits she enjoys taking him food and spending time with him because he lives in ”dire circumstances” and she fully supports the actions he’s taken. Quote: “Let’s say we’re just good friends.”

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• George Michael – His lover Fadi Fawaz has been banned from the late singer’s funeral amid a family feud. George’s cousin, Andros Georgiou, also reveals the former Brit pop star is to be buried in his favorite suit from his final tour, wearing a gold Cartier watch and a ring bearing his nickname ‘Yog’. No date for the memorial has been announced.
• Luke Bryan / Dierks Bentley – They’re returning to host the “ACM Awards” live from Las Vegas on April 2nd. This is the 2nd time the two have partnered to co-host the event.

WE’RE ALL CHEATERS:
It’s common these days for couples in long-term relationships to take on the hefty commitment of watching a Netflix series together. There’s an unspoken rule that one member may never, under any circumstances, proceed onto the next episode without the other. But sometimes the show is just too good and the temptation to move forward with the next episode is too great. This is when what’s being called ‘Netflix cheating’ begins. Defined as watching a TV show ahead of your significant other, the behavior has increased by threefold since 2013. A related poll finds that about 48% of couples commit streaming infidelity. (Those who stream together, stay together?)

BS BUZZWORDS:
Cutting-edge vocab …
• ‘Prankvertising’ – Using hoaxes or mischievous acts as part of a marketing campaign.
• ‘Rug-Rat Race’ – Intense pressure put on children to achieve early educational success, particularly as a prerequisite for eventually getting into an elite university.
• ‘Thrisis’ – Feelings of unhappiness, worry, and disappointment that some people experience when they are around 30, which often lead them to make important changes in their lives.

EXTREME MAKEOVER:
The idea that we replace every cell in our bodies every few years is a popular one … but incorrect. Fat cells are replaced at about 10% per year, but heart muscle cells turn over at just 1% per year at age 25, declining to 0.5% by age 70. An adult has around 40 liters of body water, which is recycled at the rate of about 3 liters per day. The neurons of the cerebral cortex and the cells in the lens of your eye are never normally replaced. And the calcium in your teeth is locked up forever. (The entire bodies of Hollywood celebs, however, are reamed, steamed and drycleaned about once a year.)

FROM THE BS POLL VAULT:
A statistical look at who we are and the things we do …
• 89% of people have never used frequent flyer miles.
• 39% of married guys say it drives them nuts when their wives turn into ‘backseat drivers’.
• 32% of people don’t usually watch TV with their partners.
• 28% of moms refuse to share their babysitter’s information with other parents.
• 20% of women say new shoes turn them on more than their partners.
• 9% of hetero marriage proposals come from women.

WHY DOES YOUR LEG FALL ASLEEP?
Is that your spidey-sense tingling? Nope, it’s a cry of suffocation. Your arm can’t reach for anything when blood can’t reach your arm. If you leave a limb in a position that constricts or otherwise impairs blood circulation, the limb’s malnourished nerves will start to malfunction. You may experience tingling, pain, or numbness in the blood-deprived area as your sensory neurons fail. This tingling ‘pins-and-needles’ sensation, known as paresthesia, can also result from sustained pressure on a nerve. (Now, why does your husband always fall asleep …?)

STRANGEST SERVICE ANIMALS:
Dogs are by far the most common service animals, assisting people in many different ways since at least 1927. However, there are many other, less traditional creatures that have been used to help their human owners. Among them …
✓ Parrots – In one famous case, a bi-polar man relied on his African grey parrot to intuit when a rage-like episode was coming on and encourage him to calm down.
✓ Cats – Just like dogs, they have an innate sense of when seizures are coming. Kittens can also be taught to use a telephone when the owner is unable to call for help.
✓ Goats – They are sometimes used in hospitals, assisted living homes, nursing homes, schools, rehab centers, and hospices to help improve the well-being of humans.
✓ Miniature Horses – Much like guide-dogs, mini horses can also act as trusted aides for those in need, helping them navigate through the world.
✓ Cows – One of the places where cows are used to comfort people is the Rae-Ann Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Geneva OH.
✓ Monkeys – They can be trained to perform manual tasks such as grasping items or operating knobs and switches to help people with quadriplegia or other severe spinal cord injuries.
✓ Chinchillas – They’re popular pets but have also served as emotional support animals. Similarly to hamsters and bunnies, they are particularly popular among kids.
✓ Turkeys – Last year “BS” reported that Delta Airlines had allowed a passenger to have her emotional support turkey onboard. According to other passengers, the bird was well-behaved.

POOR LITTLE RICH GIRL:
Britain’s youngest Euromillions winner is planning to sue the lottery for … “ruining” her life. Jane Park, who won £1 million at age 17, contends someone of that age should not be allowed to win such a large amount of money. She says 18 should be the minimum age for winning and suggests the current age limit of 16 is way too young. The former £8-an-hour admin temp, who now owns 2 properties in Edinburgh, says she’s become bored of relentless consumption and feels her big win has failed to offer long-term genuine happiness. Quote: “I thought it would make it 10 times better but it’s made it 10 times worse. I wish I had no money most days.” (Jaded … at the ripe old age of 21.)
