BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Today Yeezy Season 5 is happening during New York Fashion Week as Kanye West is set to unveil his latest collection in partnership with Adidas. The show is scheduled to take place at Pier 59 Studios. A previous report suggests ‘Ye had been dropped from the official New York Fashion Week schedule after failing to approach the Council of Fashion Designers of America about booking a time slot, but that’s unlikely to slow the man down.

★ One year after it banished naked photos, nudity is back in “Playboy” magazine. The mag instituted its no-nudes policy, starting with the March 2016 issue, in an effort to ramp up circulation and get more advertisers but it apparently didn’t work. Chief Creative Officer Cooper Hefner, founder Hugh Hefner’s son, says the move was “a mistake”, so raw flesh is back with the March/April 2017 issue currently hitting newsstands. Hef Jr says the way the magazine portrayed nudity was dated and there will be no full-frontal nudity as in the olden days.

★ After 12 seasons, ABC-TV has cast the first woman of color as its lead in “The Bachelorette”. Texas attorney Rachel Lindsay searches for a soulmate on the show’s 13th season, debuting May 22nd. The breakthrough is likely the result of a years-long battle to get more people of color cast as both daters and leads. In 2012, ABC was slapped with a racial discrimination suit which alleged that producers “knowingly, intentionally, and as a matter of corporate policy refused to cast people of color in the role of ‘The Bachelor’ and ‘The Bachelorette’.” The court ultimately sided with ABC on 1st Amendment grounds.

★ Emma Watson has been named ‘Woman of the Year’ at the “Elle Style Awards” in London. The 26-year-old Hollywood actress and women’s rights campaigner has received the accolade in recognition of her on-screen talents as well as her campaigning for gender equality, which has included helping to launch the HeForShe solidarity initiative. Emma was appointed as a UN Women’s Goodwill Ambassador in 2014. As part of her role, she has spoken at the United Nations HQ in NYC and the World Economic Forum about the issue of equality for women.

★ And 49-year-old Pamela Anderson has been seeing 45-year-old Julian Assange. The former model/actress refuses to confirm speculation she’s dating the exiled WikiLeaks founder, but admits she likes to bring ”a little help, a smile, and some glamour” to his cramped lifestyle. The former “Baywatch” star has made a string of visits to the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, where Assange has been living in political asylum since 2012. She admits she enjoys taking him food and spending time with him because he lives in ”dire circumstances” and she fully supports the actions he’s taken. Quote: “Let’s say we’re just good friends.”

• George Michael – His lover Fadi Fawaz has been banned from the late singer’s funeral amid a family feud. George’s cousin, Andros Georgiou, also reveals the former Brit pop star is to be buried in his favorite suit from his final tour, wearing a gold Cartier watch and a ring bearing his nickname ‘Yog’. No date for the memorial has been announced.
• Luke Bryan / Dierks Bentley – They’re returning to host the “ACM Awards” live from Las Vegas on April 2nd. This is the 2nd time the two have partnered to co-host the event.
• Maren Morris – She made a guest appearance as herself on last night’s episode of “NCIS: New Orleans” (CBS-TV), performing an acoustic version of “My Church”.
• Metallica – They’ve announced their “WorldWired Tour”, beginning May 10th in Baltimore MD. It’s their 1st extensive tour of the US and Canada since 2009. Avenged Sevenfold, Volbeat, and Gojira are opening select shows.
• Tim McGraw / Faith Hill – The country couple have both signed on with Sony Music, “Billboard” reports. Their deals call for multiple solo albums from each of them.
WE’RE ALL CHEATERS:
It’s common these days for couples in long-term relationships to take on the hefty commitment of watching a Netflix series together. There’s an unspoken rule that one member may never, under any circumstances, proceed onto the next episode without the other. But sometimes the show is just too good and the temptation to move forward with the next episode is too great. This is when what’s being called ‘Netflix cheating’ begins. Defined as watching a TV show ahead of your significant other, the behavior has increased by threefold since 2013. A related poll finds that about 48% of couples commit streaming infidelity.
