“BS” … The Most Touchdowns in Show Prep!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ 29-year-old Dylan Farrow, adopted daughter of Mia Farrow, has penned an open letter detailing events surrounding her alleged sexual assault committed by her adopted father, director Woody Allen. Published through a “New York Times” blog, the letter addresses previous accusations from Farrow of Allen’s ongoing abuse of her when she was a child. What’s made the ordeal even worse, she says, is the way Hollywood has ‘turned a blind eye’. (Most notably of late, presenting Allen a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ at this year’s Golden Globes.)
– QMI
★ The asking price of the iconic Palm Springs CA estate of late actor-comedian Bob Hope & his wife Dolores, initially offered privately for $50 million, has been dropped to $34 million. The Hopes used the dome-shaped, futuristic hilltop house mainly as a 2nd home, often entertaining celebrity friends. The 23,000-plus square foot estate which can accommodate up to 300 guests is the largest private home ever designed by modernist architect John Lautner. (Do you even know 300 people?)
– “Palm Springs Desert Sun”
★ 30-year-old “Social Network” star Jesse Eisenberg has been cast as nemesis ‘Lex Luthor’ in the upcoming – still untitled – ‘Batman vs Superman’ movie. Also added to the cast is 65-year-old British actor Jeremy Irons, who will play ‘Batman’s trusted adviser, ‘Alfred Pennyworth’. As previously announced, Henry Cavill will reprise his ‘Superman’ role; Ben Affleck will suit up as ‘Batman’; and Gal Gadot plays ‘Wonder Woman’. The movie is set to open May 6, 2016. (Can you see Eisenberg as a bad guy?)
– “Entertainment Weekly”
★ A stage musical of hit time-travel movie “Back To the Future” is set to debut in London’s West End in 2015. Robert Zemeckis, who co-wrote and directed the 1985 Michael J Fox film, will reunite with co-writer Bob Gale to pen the book for the stage adaptation. According to Gale, the musical will be ‘true to the spirit of the film without being a slavish remake’. The stage production will include tunes from the movie along with brand new songs. (Will the car sing?)
– BBC Entertainment & Arts
★ NBC Universal plans to lay off the entire “Tonight Show With Jay Leno” staff when the late-night talk show moves from California to NYC later this month. Layoffs will begin February 14th and be staggered through April 4th. The 164 employees have been encouraged to look for jobs within the company, including positions with the new “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”. Jay Leno is set to leave the show this Thursday. (In a recent interview with “Hollywood Reporter”, he seemed to be under the impression all staffers would get 6 months notice.)
– TheWrap.com
★ And to help film the steamiest scene between Josh Brolin & Kate Winslet in his new movie “Labor Day”, director Jason Reitman brought in ‘food stylist’ Susan Spungen to create an gooey, oozing peach pie for them to take out their sexual tension on. The recipe includes
3 lbs of peaches, 3/4 cup sugar, 3 cups flour, a half-cup of shortening, 1 stick plus 1 tablespoon chilled butter, and 1 beaten egg. (1 Josh Brolin optional.)

• “Jimmy Kimmel Live” (ABC/CityTV) – Zedd (“Clarity Deluxe”).

• “Tonight Show With Jay Leno” (NBC/CTV2) – Jay’s final week; tonight Jimmy Fallon, who will succeed Leno as host on February 17th; 92-year-old actress Betty White, making her 19th appearance; musical guest Bonnie Raitt (“Slipstream”).

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Justin Bieber – TMZ has posted a NSFW photo of the pop star and his pal, Khalil Sharieff, with their mouths on the breasts of a very full-chested woman, reportedly a stripper hired to perform at a party in an LA studio. (Another classy move, Biebs.)
• Macklemore & Ryan Lewis – They’ve become the latest act to book a Las Vegas residency, signing for a series of shows at Wynn Resorts Encore Beach Club and Surrender Nightclub. The long-term engagement kicks off on Memorial Day weekend in May.
• Skrillex – Tonight in San Francisco CA he begins a series of 4 ‘takeovers’, multi-day events with different artists playing different venues in the host city each night. The 5-night San Francisco takeover includes A$AP Rocky, Seven Lions, and more. Brooklyn NY; Amsterdam, The Netherlands; and Barcelona, Spain are also on the agenda for the series.

NEW OREOS OUT:
Continuing its tradition of creating new flavor after new flavor, Oreo cookie-maker Nabisco is launching 2 brand new varieties of the popular product today: ‘Cookie Dough’ and something called ‘Marshmallow Crispy’, which is based on Rice Krispies Treats but cannot be called that due to legal reasons. The temporary new flavors are expected to be available for 6-to-8 weeks only. (Wouldn’t all Oreos be ‘Cookie Dough’?)
– TIME.com

DOOMED DELIVERIES:
Thirsty ice fishermen in central Minnesota will no longer be able to have beer delivered to them … by a drone. Lakemaid Beer had been testing a drone delivery service on Lake Mille Lacs, one of the most popular ice fishing destinations in the state. Fishermen simply called in with their GPS coordinates, and a drone was sent out carrying refreshments. But after news of the drone deliveries started to go viral, the Federal Aviation Administration clued in and has since grounded the service. (If this violates air space regs, imagine what Amazon.com’s planned drone delivery will do.)
– ABC News

SHAKESPEAREAN SLAMS:
Nobody has ever mastered the putdown like William Shakespeare. Witness …
● ‘You mad mustachio purple-hued maltworm.’ (“Hamlet”)
● ‘Your face is not worth sunburning.’ (“Henry V”)
● ‘Thy brains are useless boiled within thy skull!’ (“The Tempest”)
● ‘Thou art a very ragged wart.’ (“Henry IV”)
● ‘There’s many a man hath more hair than wit.’ (“The Comedy of Errors”)
● ‘Sweep on you fat and greasy citizens!’ (“As You Like It”)
● ‘He has not so much brain as ear wax.’ (“Troilus & Cressida”)

CATCH A MOOD:
Want to feel happy? Spend more time with people whose mood you wouldn’t mind catching. The reason that works is simple: During conversation, we tend to mimic our counterpart’s facial expressions, posture, and speech rhythms. Experts suggest that by doing this, we come to feel what the other person is feeling. (We should all hang with Jimmy Fallon.)
– “Woman’s Day”

HOW TO EAT CHICKEN WINGS:
According to professional eater ‘Crazy Legs’ Conti …
DRUMLET PORTION:
• Use the ‘typewriter’ method, firmly grasping the wing like an ear of corn with both hands.
• Strip the meat with your bottom teeth first.
• Spin the wing while separating the meat from the bone from left-to-right.
WINGLET PORTION:
• Use the ‘wishbone’ method for the 2-bone section, using both hands to grab each bone at the bottom.
• Insert whole winglet into mouth.
• As you remove it, pull apart the bones and use the tongue to hold back the meat.
– NYDailyNews.com

FOR THE RECORD:
On Friday, Nebraska mom Molly Schuyler ate 363 wings at the 22nd annual “Wing Bowl” competition in Philadelphia PA, completely frying the previous record of 337. And what did the wing winner have to say about that? Quote: “I don’t think I want to eat another chicken wing for a while.”
– CBS News

DID YOU KNOW?
If you have an itchy arm, looking in the mirror and scratching the mirror image of that arm (the one that isn’t bothering you) will help, although it only provides a quarter of the relief of scratching the itchy arm.
