Race car driver Luyendyk Jr., who ultimately chose Burnham, his runner up on the reality show, to be his wife, kissed the expecting bride after the romantic ceremony. ★ Disney has reached out to a terminally ill fan who is desperate to see “Avengers: Endgame” before he dies. The man, who is known only as Alexander and is believed to be from Australia, launched a campaign on Reddit earlier this month, explaining he is suffering from the genetic disease fancomi anemia – which severely affects the production of bone marrow – and wants to see the superhero blockbuster as soon as possible because he’s not sure he’ll be alive when it premieres on April 26. His appeal quickly went viral. Later, he wrote: ”Disney have reached out and we are discussing options. I cried when I read their email. It’s everything I hoped for and I owe it to all of you.”

★ A Kim Kardashian West Barbie doll? The revelation came in a tweet Kardashian West sent while looking back at a photo taken during a Victoria’s Secret event in Los Angeles in 2011. She wrote: “Have the best story about this look! I had a Barbie deal and she was going to wear this exact look!” The deal ended up being canceled by manufacturer Mattel, but Kim wrote that her husband Kanye West “knew how sad I was, called Mattel and made all my dreams come true by having my prototype made just for me!”

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Celine Dion — has followed Lady Gaga’s cue and is pulling her collaboration with R. Kelly from streaming services. ‘I’m Your Angel’ was recorded in 1998 and appeared on her holiday album. It hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed there for 6 weeks, and was nominated for a Grammy.
• Maroon 5 – have finally been officially announced as Super Bowl halftime headliners. They will be joined by Travis Scott and Big Boi at the big game in Atlanta on Feb. 3. In recent months, numerous high-profile artists — including Rihanna, Adele, JAY-Z, P!nk, and Cardi B — have reportedly turned down the halftime slot in solidarity with former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
• Camila Cabello – marked the one-year anniversary of her self-titled debut solo album on Saturday by tweeting: “This year has been all about you and the new memories we’ve made with these songs.” She also shared some snapshots from her epic year.
• Walk Off the Earth — Devoted fans gathered Sunday afternoon in the band’s hometown of Burlington, ON for an all-star concert dedicated to Mike Taylor, the keyboardist known as “Beard Guy” who died in his sleep on Dec. 30. Performers included members of the Barenaked Ladies, Arkells, Scott Helman and Monster Truck.
• Michael Jackson – is being defended by his nephew Taj after a new documentary featuring two of the singer’s alleged sex abuse victims was announced. The 40-year-old son of Tito Jackson was quoted as saying “I’m so tired of these lies about my uncle. I doubt the media wants to learn the truth or is even interested in it. Negativity sells.” He says he is looking into starting a funding page to make his own Michael Jackson documentary.
• Guns N’ Roses — A Canadian news broadcast hilariously mistook a now viral photo of Axl Rose and actor Mickey Rourke as an old married couple. It all started when a photo of the two together surfaced earlier this month with the caption, “No, these are not two retired school teachers waiting for their grandkids dance recital to begin while their husbands find parking. This is Mickey Rourke and Axl Rose at a boxing match in LA over the weekend.” A TV station was pranked into showing the photo on TV and mistakenly identified them as a couple named Max and Geraldine Bailey celebrating their 50th anniversary.
• Jason Aldean – says he enjoyed being in the studio with Florida Georgia Line to record his collaboration with them, ‘Can’t Hide Red’. Quote: “They have their process to go through to get that sound. But it’s cool for me to go in there, because you kind of learn stuff and go, ’Oh, I never thought about doing something like that.’” ‘Can’t Hide Red’ will be on GFA’s upcoming “Can’t Say I Ain’t Country” album, out next month.
• George Strait and Willie Nelson — had never performed together until Saturday night. During the Nelson tribute concert “Willie: Life and Songs of an American Outlaw” at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, the two legends teamed up to sing a new song written by Strait called ‘Sing One With Willie’. Other performers included Chris Stapleton, Emmylou Harris, Eric Church, Jamey Johnson, Lukas Nelson, Margo Price, Alison Krauss, Vince Gill and many more. The event was filmed for a TV broadcast.

GET RID OF THE RINSE:
The makers of Dixie Cups aren’t going to like this, but dental hygiene experts are warning that you should NOT rinse your mouth with water after brushing your teeth. Or with mouthwash, which some people apparently do. The subject was brought to light in a feature published in the academic publication, “The Conversation”. In it, authors Nicola Innes, a professor of paediatric dentistry, and Clement Seeballuck, a clinical lecturer in paediatric dentistry at the University of Dundee, write that those who rinse their mouth after brushing to get rid of toothpaste residue risk a significantly higher incidence of tooth decay. By doing so, you are also inadvertently washing away fluoride, which protects your teeth. Although the dental experts admit this can be a difficult habit to break, avoiding the rinse can potentially reduce tooth decay by 25%.
(And what is the first thing your dental hygienist says after cleaning your teeth? “Rinse”!!)
(So how are you supposed to get excess water off your brush if you can’t SLURRP it?)
(I like to rinse with orange juice. Am I weird?)

I SWEAR:
A new book says that swearing in front of your children isn’t necessarily a bad thing. In his book, “What the F: What Swearing Reveals About our Language, Our Brain, and Ourselves,” Benjamin Bergen says casually swearing in front of your children doesn’t have an impact on a child’s well-being or emotional development. Bergin, who is a cognitive science professor at the University of California, writes that while letting the odd swear word fly around kids isn’t harmful, you certainly want to stay away from anything close to verbal abuse, which might involve swearing AT your children. He says it is important to be fairly natural at home in front of your kids, and that can include swearing “a little bit”. And while some parents might fear that children might mimic their salty language, that isn’t necessarily the case because “Profanity is anti-authoritarian. It is breaking the rules to use profanity in public. If you, the ultimate authority figure for kids, are using it, then they don’t see it as cool.”
(Good thing that I can swear in front of my kids….being that they are responsible for a large percentage of my swear words!)
(I’m actually more worried about my kids swearing in front of my parents!)
(Why would they copy my swear words? They never copy me when I do something good!)

MYTHS ABOUT THE COLD:
✗ You Lose Most of Your Heat from Your Head: Where your body loses heat is closely related to surface area, and the head has only about 9 percent of the body’s surface area. But on the other hand, if the rest of you is all covered up and your head isn’t, then you DO lose most of your heat from your head! (I can confirm that you lose most of your HAIR from your head, however…)
✗ To Warm Up, Sip Coffee or Brandy: Caffeine and alcohol actually hinder the body’s ability to produce heat. They can also cause your core temperature to drop. Instead, drink warm water, or something with sugar. (Can I have brandy if I put sugar in it?)
✗ If You Go Out in the Cold, You’ll Catch a Cold: You catch cold from a virus, not from cold temperatures. (Now stop listening to old wives!)
✗ Rub Your Fingers or Toes to Warm Them: Wiggle them instead. If exposed skin (including that of your face and ears) becomes cold, cover it with a warm hand until it feels better. Rubbing can cause tissue damage.
✗ Try to Resist Shivering: Shivering means that your body is trying to warm up, and that’s good. In fact, shivering can triple your body’s heat production.
✗ If I’m Feeling Cold, You Must Be Feeling It Too: Age, gender, fitness level, acclimatization all determine when you “feel” cold. And it’s been proven that women generally feel cold before men do, possibly because they have less heat-generating ability. (Just ask me about my first wife!)
(Cold, hard facts…that aren’t facts!!)

DID YOU KNOW:
A medical professor says that chocolate is a better cough suppressant than commercial drug store meds. Chocolate forms a sticky coating in the throat which protects the nerve endings which cause you to cough.
(It doesn’t make you drowsy, either!)
