Good Morning, Sheetheads!
BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Hulk Hogan became a real-life hero over the weekend — jumping to the rescue of a 17-year-old female driver who was involved in a horrific car accident. Sources say the wrestler, his wife Sky Daily, and a friend were driving along a highway Sunday evening in Clearwater, FL when they witnessed a car swerve to make an exit — and in the process … clip another car, causing it to flip over. Hogan and his marine friend stopped and rushed to render aid to the driver, and helped her out of the car, after popping the airbag, all before paramedics arrived. She is apparently rattled, but OK.

★ Go ahead, make a bid. Clint Eastwood’s sunglasses from “Dirty Harry” are one of the 130 pieces of Hollywood memorabilia being sold at Studio Auction’s Cinematic Auction beginning online today. The sunglasses, with a starting price of $10,000, come with a letter from Clint Eastwood, confirming they’re authentic. Other sets of iconic shades, worn by Arnold Schwarzenegger in “Terminator” 1 and 2, are also on the block, starting at $10,000. Horror relics are hot, with bidding for Anthony Hopkins’ mask from “The Silence of the Lambs” starting at $60,000, and Jack Nicholson’s axe from “The Shining” opening at $50,000.

★ The long-awaited expansion of “The Office” universe appears to be getting closer to becoming a reality. Greg Daniels, who adapted NBC‘s The Office for American audiences based on the hit BBC series, is setting up a development room with his trusted writers, sources say. The potential new series, which is not a reboot, would likely be set in a new office with new characters, but live within the same “universe” as the Steve Carell-led mockumentary series, which followed employees at the fictional Dunder Mifflin Paper Company.

★ “Wonka” has crossed a sweet box office milestone. The fantasy musical, starring Timothée Chalamet, has surpassed $500 million in global ticket sales. After 5 weeks on the big screen, Wonka has generated $176.2 million domestically and $329.1 million internationally, bringing its global tally to $505.3 million as of Sunday. The film cost $125 million to make.

★ Keanu Reeves has a new career. He has announced that he has co-written his first novel. The “John Wick” actor appeared on “Good Morning America” last week to reveal that he has collaborated with award-winning author China Miéville on “The Book of Elsewhere”, which is set in the world of the BRZRKR comic series, which Reeves co-created. The book centers around an immortal warrior who begins a quest to understand why he was given eternal life. It will be published in July.

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Lil Nas X — Liberty University has confirmed that he will NOT be attending, after he posted what appeared to be an acceptance letter. The statement came after Nas indicated he will be attending the religious school this fall with a dual concentration in Christian Leadership and Biblical studies. His new single is ‘J. Christ’. LINK: http://tinyurl.com/yz8dm6t9
• Justin Timberlake — is building anticipation for his return to solo music. He has announced a FREE one-night-only hometown show in Memphis, this Friday at the Orpheum Theater. He also shared a seconds-long clip of an unreleased single. LINK: http://tinyurl.com/44zdynwc

• The Who – singer Roger Daltrey said there are currently no touring plans in place for the Who, and he’s happy with that. The 79-year-old told a reporter that he needs to discuss things with bandmate Pete Townshend, but he’s “happy saying that part of my life is over.” The group is scheduled to perform at the last of Daltrey’s Teenage Cancer Trust charity shows, which will take place in London in March.
• Elton John – is downsizing. His former penthouse residence in Atlanta has been emptied for a series of auctions at Christie’s starting Feb. 21 – and the items are expected to bring in about $10 million. The most expensive item is a 2017 Banksy painting of a masked man hurling a bouquet of flowers, which is expected to sell for about $1.5 million.
• Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean — The frigid temperatures and wind chill caused instruments to fail on the plane they were in after taking off from St. Louis. But after renting a car, they turned their adventures into an entertaining roadtrip livestream, which ended with Bryan saying: “So now we’re on I-55 at a Dairy Queen. We’re getting some chicken fingers. I just peed beside the road. And Jason’s the driver.” LINK: http://tinyurl.com/33f3j2vc
• Luke Combs – He and his wife Nicole still live in their 2-bedroom home — but not for much longer. In a recent Q&A, she responded to fans who were shocked that the couple and their 2 kids still live in a very modest home, despite his superstardom. Her response: “We’re building”.
• Jelly Roll – plans to run a 5K in May. He shared an Instagram video saying he was inspired to train for the race following an appearance on Kyle Forgeard’s “Full Send” podcast. In 2018, Jelly revealed he weighed over 500 pounds in 2015, before embarking on a weight-loss journey, in which he lost 200 pounds.
SHOOTING THE BULL
DAY CLUB:
It just might be the next big thing – a nightclub that is only open in the daytime. British actress Vicky McClure and husband Jonny Owen say they came up with the idea for a “day club” …or a night club that’s open during the day, then shuts early…so you can grab a bite, then catch the train home in time to catch some Saturday night TV. As a nod to the Bee Gees’ party classic ‘Night Fever’, the all-day discos are called “Day Fever”, and are aimed at “people of a certain age” – the over-30 crowd. Doors open at 2pm, last entry is at 4pm, and party-goers are asked to be polite and to dress smartly like they used to when they went on a night out clubbing. Following a successful daytime disco in Sheffield, more have been scheduled in London, Nottingham and south Wales, and the organizers plan to take their drop-in disco to towns and cities across the UK. And as Owen points out, the big advantages to daytime clubbing are “being home early enough for Match of the Day – and it also doesn’t ruin your Sunday.”
(Ha! I’d still be the guy nodding off at the bar!)

MANDEMIC:
Men are often accused of exaggerating cold symptoms – or let’s just cut to the chase – they are often accused of being an out-and-out “wuss” when it comes to dealing with seasonal illnesses. But according to an expert, men feel the effects of a cold or the flu differently than women do. Dr. Eleanor Fish, a professor of immunology at the University of Toronto, points out that men and women “have subtly different immune systems, which means that they do respond to infections differently.” How so? For starters, research shows that males are more vulnerable to respiratory illness, and are more often hospitalized or even die from the flu. The Dr. also says that females “have a much more robust immune response”, which means they are able to clear infections more quickly. Another doc, Dr. Kyle Sue, an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Alberta, agrees that males generally experience worse symptoms than women, and believes the differences may be hormonally-related.
(I know! I was sick last week – and I complained so much, my wife ran to the store at 10pm for ice cream — to make herself feel better!)
(Maybe we just REALLY love chicken soup?!?!)

ODD JOBS:
⇒ The owners of a remote island are looking to pay 2 people to live there this summer. The only problem? You have to actually work. Stunningly picturesque, Great Blasket Island on the coast of Ireland, has a seal colony, endless ocean views, memorable scenery and prehistoric sites, but the selected applicants won’t be there to soak up the sun (if there is any) — but rather to run the island, which welcomes scores of visitors during the warmer months. Duties include running the island’s cafe, and hosting guests at 4 holiday cottages. No salary details, but the listing does warn that the job will require a “hardworking, responsible and trustworthy duo that have great people skills and initiative.” (Off the coast of Ireland? Now THAT’S what I call “working remotely”!) LINK: http://tinyurl.com/36p2z96y
⇒ If you’ve ever wanted to drive cross-country in a 27-foot hot dog on wheels, here’s your chance: Oscar Mayer is now hiring drivers for its “Hotdogger” program. Accepted applicants will get behind the wheel of the company’s legendary hot dog-shaped “Wienermobile” and travel throughout the US, representing Oscar Mayer at various events and creating social media content along the way. The yearlong assignment, which begins in June, includes a $35,600 base salary and weekly allowance of $150 for meals/travel. DID YOU KNOW?
Kathleen Murray of Tasmania, Australia has the “World’s Ugliest Lawn”, according to competition organizers in Sweden. Reps for Gotland said that Murray’s lawn “boasts deep, dry divots created by 3 wild bandicoots (small marsupials endemic to Australia) and not one dust-covered decimeter is wasted on watering.” People from around the world were invited to post pics of their dehydrated grass in an effort at scooping the dubious accolade. The intention was to raise awareness of “saving water on a global scale by changing the norm for green lawns.” Contest officials added: “The planet, and its dwindling stockpiles of life-giving liquid, thank you, Kathleen, as well as those naughty, naughty bandicoots pockmarking your property for the greater good.” LINK: https://gotland.com/worlds-ugliest-lawn/
